A MOTHER’S LOVE
John 19: 25 - 27 “Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.”
We as mothers go out of our way so many times for our children, I remember putting card board in the soles of my dollar tennis shoes, because my children needed shoes more than I did.
If there was not enough to eat I would have a bite and say I was full, or I am on a diet, and let them have the larger portions, that is all part of a mothers love, God made us that way, do our children appreciate all we did for them, most never know what all we did do, all the nights we stayed up, all the things we went without, all the prayers and tears we had for them, and still do, no matter how grown they get, they are still our children, and we love them, pray for them, and cry over them. Now how much do we love our Mother's ? Jesus set the perfect example.
Jesus had been beaten beyond recognition, mocked, cursed, spat upon and was in excruciating pain yet even in the midst of all of this torture and pain, He remembered His mother. I wonder if Jesus trusts us enough to take care of His beloved mother. He loves His mother so much that He wanted to be sure that she would be taken care of and not be alone. The greatest thing we can do for our mothers is pray for them. However, the next most important thing we can do for them is to give them our time. Are we so selfish that we refuse to get out of bed early in the morning so that we can spend time with our mothers? If you want to make your mother very happy on Mother’s Day, spend the day with her. Don’t just give your mother a couple of hours on Mother’s Day, spend the entire day with her. Your mother may not be here next Mother’s Day. May God forgive us for being so involved in our own pleasures that we neglect to take care of our mothers and spend time with them!
♥ Happy Mother's Ladies, Go love your mom. ♥
