A Wonderful Old Hymn, With a great meaning, that scripture backs up, some songs today are so unscriptural, but most the old time gospel hymns are very scriptural.
Hiding in Thee O safe to the Rock that is higher than I, My soul in its conflicts and sorrows would fly; So sinful, so weary, Thine, Thine, would I be; Thou blest “Rock of Ages,” I’m hiding in Thee.
Hiding in Thee, hiding in Thee, Thou blest “Rock of Ages,” I’m hiding in Thee.
In the calm of the noontide, in sorrow’s lone hour, In times when temptation casts o’er me its power; In the tempests of life, on its wide, heaving sea, Thou blest “Rock of Ages,” I’m hiding in Thee.
Hiding in Thee, hiding in Thee,
Thou blest “Rock of Ages,”
I’m hiding in Thee.
How oft in the conflict, when pressed by the foe, I have fled to my refuge and breathed out my woe; How often, when trials like sea billows roll, Have I hidden in Thee, O Thou Rock of my soul.
Hiding in Thee, hiding in Thee, Thou blest “Rock of Ages,” I’m hiding in Thee.
BIBLE REFERENCE:
The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
Psalms 9:9
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. . Proverbs 14:26
Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Psalms 32:7

I really enjoyed reading the words to this hymn. The Bible references are some of my favorites. He is a sure refuge and I find myself hiding in Him often. Thanks for this.
As for whether I'm related to the Rhodens you asked about, I'm not sure. I don't know of them, but I married into the Rhodens so they could have relatives there. I may mention them to my in-laws.
