Thirsting Thursday Thoughts

I hope you have a wonderful day, and if you are thirsty, drink from the word of God, it fills you with water that will never run dry, But, have a very blessed day, and share your readings with us today, hugs I just read....
Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
Can you imagine a people actually thirsting for the word of God, these verses amaze me, and oh how our beloved Americans need to read this holy word of God and to see how they are, and where it this road leads, it is heart breaking that everyone is so cold and callused of the heart, the word is everywhere now, so plentiful, but there will come when it will be no more, and they will be dry.. Just my thoughts for today, and wondering what you found of interest today, and what did God speak to you about. Below are some more scriptures of how His water fills and keeps us from ever thirsting. Have a very blessed day.
John 4:13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

INGREDIENTS
1 pound dried red beans, soaked overnight 10 cups water 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced into rounds 1 large sweet onion, chopped 1 green bell pepper, chopped 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped (optional) 8 cloves garlic, chopped 1 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 teaspoon Creole seasoning, or to taste 6 fresh basil leaves, chopped 1 ham hock 4 cups cooked rice DIRECTIONS
Place the beans and water into a slow cooker. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the sausage in the skillet; remove from the skillet with a slotted spoon and transfer to the slow cooker. Reserve drippings. Add onion, green pepper, jalapeno pepper and garlic to the drippings; cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes. Transfer everything from the skillet to the slow cooker. Season the mixture with pepper and Creole seasoning. Add the fresh basil leaves and ham hock. Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours, or until beans are tender. If the bean mixture seems too watery, take the lid off the slow cooker and set heat to High to cook until they reach a creamy texture.
FOOTNOTE
I add a spoonful of butter, this keeps it from getting gooey. Will Serve at least 8
