TASTEY TUESDAY

Jesus Is Sweet

As I was looking at this orange, it reminded me of a sermon my dear husband preached on about salvation. He said if I were eating this orange, and you did not taste of it, you would have no idea how juicy and sweet it tasted. Salvation is sweet; but if you've never tasted it for yourself, you have no idea just how sweet it can be.

II Corinthians 6:2, "For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."

Proverbs 27:1, "Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth."

This is the scripture he used in the message, and it just all came alive. He preaches dynamically and uses many things in every day life to get a point of Biblical teachings across. Just as Jesus gave all the parables, he uses these illustrations to point sinners to Christ. So many in the pews of our churches are lost and undone without Christ, and we must reach them -- this is the great commission, go, go quickly! Compel them!

Luke 14:23, "And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."

As you know, the lost world is not beating the doors down to get into the church where they can hear the gospel; so as the saved and called accordingly to His purpose, we need to be willing to go out and bring them in. Amen.

A very tasty looking recipe.

It is wonderful your hubby is such a dynamic speaker, with messages that bring the lost to The Lord.

I was surprised recently when I attended a naturalisation ceremony and the participants, 50+, had the choice of making their allegiance just to Australia, or under God, and all except 4 chose under God.

I think a lot of people are aware of God and believe in Him, but their eyes haven't been opened to take that step to repent of their sins and become a born-again believer.

Richest Blessings my friend, I really appreciate your visits to my page, and your thoughtful comments.

Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm! That recipe looks SOOOOO good! I'm going to HAVE to copy that off.

I also enjoyed your devotion. It is interesting to realize that not everyone in the pews (or rows of chairs, as in our church) are in the same 'place' as we are. There are ppl there who are searching, are doubting, are interested but unsure, are babes in the Lord & are drinking in that sweet milk of the Word; there are those who have been "Christians" for yeeeears & are so legalistic they can't see past the end of their noses to consider that the Lord works differently in different ppl's lives & there are ppl there who are digesting & enjoying the choice morsels of meat from God's Word...

And the Lord is right there w/us all, exactly as we need Him to be.

Thanks for all your kind comments on my blog. I hope you return often & I hope to return to yours as well.

Blessings from Ohio...Kim<><
