~Thankful Thursday~

Every time I see this photo I think of my Shepherd and what he has did for me, it has been 36 years since he found me, and I cannot even imagine what life would be without him, he leads me in every aspect of my life, he is not only my Shepherd, he is my Saviour. I think of the 23rd Psalm, I love the last verse of that Psalm 23:6 "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever".

It shows I am never alone, here it says goodness and mercy shall follow me, wow amazing how much we get when we accept Jesus as our Saviour. I sing a song called, I'm the Lamb that the Shepherd left the flock for. It tells it all, hope you enjoy it like I enjoy singing it.

I’m The Lamb That The Shepherd Left The Flock For

VERSE 1
So many times I've strayed away from Jesus
As a lamb that leaves the flock without a care
it wasn't long till I'd gone too far and I stumbles
And the more I'd try the more I'd loose my way

CHORUS
I'm the lamb that the Shepherd left the flock for
I was out in the cold all alone
So indeed when Jesus found me
He put his arms around me
And I'll never be alone anymore

VERSE 2
I have tried to climb the mountains of this life and failed
Thinking only of my self and my own gain
But the Shepherd came and found me on the cliffs of sin
And from that moment my life has never been the same

REPEAT CHORUS
I'm the lamb that the Shepherd left the flock for
I was out in the cold all alone
So indeed when Jesus found me
He put his arms around me
And I'll never be alone anymore

VERSE 3
Now I'm back where I belong and I'm so happy
I can hear the Shepherd's voice all the time
And I'll follow in the path where He may lead me
For this Shepherd, Jesus, is a friend of mine

REPEAT CHORUS
I'm the lamb that the Shepherd left the flock for
I was out in the cold all alone
So indeed when Jesus found me
He put his arms around me
And I'll never be alone anymore

REPEAT CHORUS

Thanks for sharing that with us today.
I know that God is also my Shepherd and he will continue to lead me through these days of darkness that I feel.

Hi Barbara - your post reminds me of a recent period when I got some not-so-good news, and I felt myself getting anxious about it. But at the same time I was listening to some Christian music, and as I felt the anxiety coming, I heard the song playing, and it was based on the 23rd Psalm, and I was able to deal with the disappointment much easier, praising God all the way thru it. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful hymn with all of us today. Take care, and a big hug for you, from KY.

Today I am especially grateful for my health. I work as a nurse, and te patients I work with have blood/lymph cancers (leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma). More and more, I'm struck by the number of people we care for in our referral center who die of their disease at an age far younger than mine. My own mother died at age 29 of meningitis - no warning, ill one day and gone the next.

That God has seen fit to allow me to live in his beautiful creation is a wonder and a marvel to me. I've already lived twice as long as my mom... years for which I fail to thank Him enough.

Thank you, Lord, for my life... and for ALL life.

Oh, Barbara! This post has so encouraged me! Thank you for these wonderful words to the song and the scripture! I can't really tell you how much it all meant. I was just thinking last night of the time that I really felt that I found the Lord and Saviour, even tho I had believed all my life! It was so clear in my heart that I will never forget! This post goes right along with my thoughts about that last night.

This is the 3rd post (including mine) where someone has quoted from Psalm 23.....God must be putting it on all of our hearts lately.

Great post! (o:

I ran cross this picture while searching for a parable graphic. Such a rocky place, yet our Shepherd is there looking for that last lamb. Thank God He was there for me. Thank you for the blog -- an uplift for the day.
