Well My dear friends, it is Monday, after a long weekend I am glad it is a day of rest, lol,  I was sick Saturday, and Sunday was a very busy day, a glorious day,  but busy,  I am glad we do not have anything special planned, and nothing to rush around about, think I will just loaf today, do you have days like that? Where you just want to relax and not have to think too seriously about anything? Well that is the mood set I have today, I am going to do just that..Posting a yummy Amish dessert, in fact two, hope you enjoy your Monday, and the recipes I am giving to you.. Lots of hugs for your day my friends. ♥

Peanut Butter Fingers

½ cup butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg
⅓ cup peanut butter
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1 cup quick cooking oats
6 oz. chocolate chips
½ cup powdered sugar
¼ cup peanut butter
2-4 tablespoons milk

Preheat oven to 350°.
Cream butter and sugars.
Add egg, peanut butter, baking soda, salt, vanilla, flour, and oats in order and mix until combined.
Spread into greased 9x13 pan, and bake 20-25 minutes.
Spread chocolate chips over hot crust immediately after removing from oven. Let stand.
Combine powdered sugar, peanut butter, and milk, and drizzle over chocolate.

Fudgesicles

1 Package Chocolate Pudding
1/3 Cup Sugar
3 Cups Milk
1 Cup Cream or Half and Half

Combine pudding, sugar and milk. Cook until thickened. Remove from heat
stir in cream. Pour into molds or in muffin tins, freeze, easy and simple kids
love it, and so easy and quick to make for them, great for Nana to make when
the kids come over, gives them a real treat.

I seen this cute poem in my Amish Cook book too, no name under to give credit for.

A house should have a cookie jar
For when it's half past three
And children hurry home from school
As hungry as can be.
There's nothing quite so splendid
As spicy, fluffy ginger cakes
And sweet milk in a cup.
A house should have a mother
Waiting with a hug.
No matter what a boy brings home
A puppy or a bug.
For children only loiter,
When the bell rings to dismiss,
If no one is home to greet them
With a cookie and a kiss.

Oh Barb! That first one looks amazing! I may have to try that one! Only problem is I might like it too much! And I don't even have a sweet tooth!

Have a wonderful week, and get some rest! I've been sick, too, but feel much better today...just a little tired.

HUGS,
Becky

OH NO...peanut butter and chocolate. Mercy! I do love peanut butter and chocolate...I'm making these tomorrow and, if not tomorrow, then for quilting bee Thursday night.

Sorry for commenting twice but wanted to smile over the poem...when it says "sweet milk in a cup"...gosh, does that bring back memories!
I'd ask Aunt Bonnie where the morning's milk was and she'd say, "Sweet or butter?"
