~*Happy Holiday Weekend*~

America is a nation founded on Biblical teachings, and even today our currency bears the words, "In God We Trust." Few can doubt God had a plan for this country and stood in the gap for her throughout history, yet there are those unseeing ones who would exclude the Lord from taking part in the affairs of our great nation. They would ban the Creator from the courtroom as they have barred Him from the classroom.

Our God-honoring founding fathers would be appalled should they visit America today, for it is not what they had in mind at all! While we read that the majority of our citizens "believe in God," we see religious freedoms eroded and discarded one after another... all in the name of "separation of church and state." You see, that concept was intended to preserve the rights of believers to worship as they saw fit, not destroy it!

Walking Tall for America Each and every one of us bears a responsibility to America, and although we may never serve in the military to protect her, we can take a stand politically. We can let our voices be heard for the cause of morality, ethical government standards, religious freedom, and all that is good and right... we can send a resounding message that we want the nation envisioned and fought for by those brilliant men who drafted the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. Most importantly of all, we can PRAY daily for this nation and its leaders.

Freedom is never free. Many men and women have given their life so America could remain a free Country, how can we not protect her from all the evil that comes our way, may america come back to God, if we are to continue a free, Christian nation it will take what God told us in his word.
2Chronciles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." When we do that, we will regain being the finest Christian nation in the world, it takes us all.
Have a very safe, and blessed Holiday, and may God continue to Bless America.

Hi Barb - I'm glad you explained the definition of separation of church and state. There are so many Americans think that it means a protection of the Gov't from Christian faiths, but it is exactly the opposite, so this nation will not become a Theocracy. And a perfect Bible verse(s) to pick for today. This weekend is a good time to begin praying for this country - goodness knows we need it. Thanks for your post today, and your outwardly expressions of your deep faith in God. God Bless you, and I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July weekend. I made your Dump Cake yesterday, but forgot to take pics of the steps while making it. I was going to feature it on my blog. But I am going to make another one for Sunday, so will get pics then. I'll be sure to let folks who read my blog that you are the author of that wonderful recipe! Take care, Miss Barb, from KY.

Beautifully written, Barbara... To tell you the truth, I am very concerned about our country. We're becoming too secular --and people are constantly taking God out of what we stand for. I just pray that we can stand firm --knowing that GOD was a part of everything our founding fathers stood for..

We need God ---and we need our freedom to be able to live the lives we choose to without too much government control... Let's continue to pray for our country.

Happy 4th to you and yours.
Hugs,
Betsy

Hey Barb - thanks for visiting my blog this morning, and for your encouraging words of wisdom. The dump cake turned out wonderful! I'm making another one for a friend of mine and her Mom for tomorrow when we get together for the 4th of July. I'm gonna try and remember to take some photos of when I make it to post on my blog-it's such a great recipe. Thanks for posting it on your blog for all of us. Take care, southern-sister, from KY.

Hi Barb, You are so right, and this is so well-stated.
Praying that the necessary changes will come and that God will put fire in the hearts of His people to once again truly stand on His infallible Word. It all must begin with His church.

Have a wonderful Fourth, sweetie! I so enjoy your bloggy friendship!
HUGS,
Becky

Though some of our founding fathers may have been more deists than Christian, the base and the majority were. Setting religion aside for just a moment, this is also our culture, our tradition, the foundation. To deny God is to deny all that was built on that foundation. Pray that it remains within God's will for its strength

Hi there Barbara, what a lovely blog you have. I like the colours, they are warm and inviting.
Thank you for visiting my blog and your kind comments. They are always appreciated. I see you like Gone With The Wind and Anne of Green Gables - they're some of my favourites too. Who could ever forget Anne's "apology" to poor Mrs Lynde.
Cheers,
