Never A Dull Moment Down On The Farm

Just at Dusk last evening my husband was out working on his boat, he is putting rails around the front so when they go Flounder Gigging he will not loos his balance, he does have a equilibrium problem, so any way he is out there just working away, and BAM a snake came up and bit him, and not just once but a few times, this snake had a mouth like a gator, full of teeth, I have never seen a snake like this before. He grabbed the closest thing and killed the snake. Well we live pretty far from any where, and not knowing what kind of snake this was, I called 911, the fire Department came out in about 7 minutes, very good respond for where we live, there is a unit about 6 miles away. So by the time they got here, I had cleaned up this wound, and it had stopped bleeding, we had the snake for them to see, and he did not have any symptoms of snake bite, so evidently it was not a poisonous snake, Praising God for this, for he would of been in really bad shape in 7 minutes if it had been a venomous snake.  So you see there is never a dull moment when you live in the Country, but what we reap far out weighs the happening of bad events, we love it here, and know God's protective hand can reach way out here too, just as well as in the City, we trust him to take care of us, and we surely never live in fear, oh what a miserable time that would be, just think if we were afraid to go out and just stay inside where it seems to be safe, that would be a miserable life for any one, I could not stand it, when it rains for a few days I have to go out any how, it just makes me crazy to be inside all the time. So that is our adventure for this time, As always God protected us, and keep that ugly bad rattle snake away, if one had to bite good things it was a non poisonous one. You have have a good Weekend, and look to God for all your needs, he is there just wanting to hear from you..  Love you all ♥ real good, and God bless you.

I'm glad he's ok.

I'm afraid of snakes, looking at those pictures freaks me out a little.

I long to live in the country some day!

Goodness, Barbara! I'm glad your DH is OK - that'll get the adrenaline flowing for the both of you! Thanks for your last statement of God is just there waiting for us to call on Him. That is one of the most reassuring statements I've heard today, and I will remember it. You're such a positive influence, and an inspiration in your sharing of your deep faith in our Lord. May He continue to bless you real good. Have a good weekend, yourself. And stay away from those sneaky snakes! Take care, my southern-sis, from KY.

OMGosh girl, God is good!!! I fear if I was bit they'd have to put me six feet under poison or not. I hate 'em and would just die of fright if I was bitten. Your man is a brave fella!

Have a fantastic day and a blessed weekend...void of snakes of course.

Scary, Barbara.... I'm glad that snake was not a poisonous one. Does your hubby feel okay today??? That would shake me up!!!!!

You are right... There's never a dull moment... We had a visitor on our deck about dusk last night ... Guess what it was????? A cute little SKUNK....

We didn't want to startle him or scare him (didn't want him to spray on our deck)... I just hit the door latch --and he meandered away... We watched him go to the deck at the house above us..

Glad your sweetie is okay...
Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

God is good, what a blessing it was a non venimous snake. That said a bite from any animals is NOT fun, give your Dh. a HUG :o)

We have bull snakes, big ones but you know what they kill and keep rattlers at bay, so they can stay and hunt mice and even snitch a turkey egg or two*wink*

PTL it all ended so well, glad your Dh is is okay.
Blessings,
Kelle

I'm glad it wasn't poisonous. My children love snakes and are great at identifying them so they are handy to have around in situations like that!

I'm glad that he is okay and that God was looking out for him.

Wow, that is scary. So glad he's okay. We had a dead snake at the end of our drive on Saturday night. Not sure what type but we are surrounded by woods so no shortage of critters up here.

Loved your country road in the next post too...I do love the country but I like having easy access to the city too. The best of both : )
