Simple Joys Saturday (click to go to Jan's)

We often think of simplicity as just sitting and relaxing, it can be just walking in a area that is new to us, or in a place of serenity, stillness or quietness. I love the Toccoa Falls it is such a lovely place and just so serene, you can walk and hear the falls and it touches every sense of your being.
A meandering stream flows through the lower part of the 1,000-acre, wooded campus from the base of this spectacular 186 foot high waterfall. The Falls are a popular tourist attraction and campus retreat. There is so much beauty in our wonderful State of Georgia, especially in Northern Georgia, the mountains, the streams, the water falls, these are located in north Georgia in Lumpkin, Banks, Dawson, Union, Fannin, Gilmer, Rabun, Towns, Stephens, Habersham, Murray, White, Walker, Pickens and Dade Counties. Many of the 125 waterfalls shown have maintained trails and observation platforms, while others are difficult to reach. Still others are on private property and not open to the public. Directions are included for the falls on public property. Some of the most beautiful in the world.

Isaiah 32:17 "And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever".  Let us close out this post with thinking of things of God, his marvellous creations, the beauty he has given for our eyes to enjoy, let each of enjoy the quietness of his world.

Wow, I didn't know Georgia had so many waterfalls. I have only driven through GA though, never really visited. A lot of New Yorkers are relocating there because of the great deal on taxes. I hear it is beautiful.

I have never been to Georgia, Barbara, and it was such a joy to see the photos and read about the falls. I can imagine how lush the areas surrounding them must be, full of plant life I would not see where I live. I love how God created our land to be so diverse, full of the beauty only His hand could create!
Blessings and joy,
Laurie

Yes it is a very lush and beautiful State, and the taxes are cheaper than any where we know, I think that is why the lord keeps us here, he knows our budget and he knows how high every where else is, we tried to sell for two years and still here, I am content being here, and until God moves us, I will serve him here in this wonderful state of Georgia

These are such serene photos, Barbara. The only time I've been thru GA was when I was a kid, and we went to FL for vacation as a family. I visit GAFarmWoman Pam at her blog Life on Southern Farm, and get a glimpse of the land from her photos - it is a lush state, and very beautiful and diverse. Thanks for sharing the photos with all of us. God's creation is awesome! Take care, southern-sis, from KY.

I love the South. We passed by several times on our way to Florida. I thought it was beautiful.

Some wonderful churches in Georgia as well. Beautiful homes and so much history.

Thank you for sharing my friend.

Beautiful, Barbara... We haven't seen all 125 of the waterfalls in North GA--but I'll bet we have seen about half of them... They are all gorgeous...

We saw Toccoa Falls in about 2002 I think.... I recognized it from your picture..

Have a great day.
Hugs,
Betsy

Lovely pictures...I haven't been to Toccoa Falls in since my boys were young...I remember the first time I visited it years and years ago as a child...my Granddaddy was visiting a church there for a possible pastorate...

Georgia does have many natural wonders that are awesome! I love the Amicalola Falls area....

Oh Barbara! You were only about 1/2 an hour from us!!! I'm going to have to email you my phone number and if you are ever going to be up in this area again, please call as we'd love to meet you!!! My brother and his family visited Toccoa Falls when they were here for our mom's birthday a couple weekends ago.
