Wednesday Wonderful Words of Life

A Friend from church has passed on, and today is his funeral, we are going to celebrate the home
going of this man, as Christians we know he is in a better place, and although he will be missed, and his dear wife will have times of great sorrow, we have the assurance that we will meet him again, in heaven with our lord. The scripture we use is this
Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.  We know when our eyes close in death, that we will open them in heaven.
So with this I will leave you today to ponder on these word to our favorite song we sing at many funerals through the years, It is soothing, it is peace giving, and it is appropiate for this time. God bless and do pray for the McInvale family.

I CALL IT HOME

SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE GRAVE, THERE IS A LAND
WHERE JESUS WENT TO PREPARE, BY HIS OWN HAND
AND FOR THE SAVED BY GRACE, THERE IS A RESTING PLACE
AND IN A FEW MORE DAYS, IT WILL BE OURS.

CHORUS
SOME CALL IT HEAVEN.. I CALL IT HOME
SOME CALL IT DREAMIN.. LET ME DREAM ON
SOME CALL IT PARADISE.. SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE SKIES
SOME CALL IT HEAVEN.. I CALL IT HOME

SOME SAY THAT YOU CAN'T GO, BACK HOME AGAIN
THINGS WILL NOT EVER BE, AS GOOD AS THEY'VE BEEN
IV'E GOT GOOD NEWS FOR YOU, WHEN HEAVEN COMES INTO TO VIEW
ONE GLIMPSE AND YOU'LL KNOW THE BEST... IS YET TO COME

CHORUS

SOME CALL IT HEAVEN.. I CALL IT HOME
SOME CALL IT DREAMIN.. LET ME DREAM ON
SOME CALL IT PARADISE.. SOMEWHERE BEYOND THE SKIES
SOME CALL IT HEAVEN.. I CALL IT HOME

Yes, Barbara - I will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers. I love the song you shared. And I do believe that in death, we should celebrate it as a home-going, and try to see the joyfulness, though it is very difficult to do so. Thank you for your post today, southern-sister. God bless you and yours. Take care, from KY.

You are such a sweetheart, gal. A dear friend of ours Father went to be with the Lord this morning at 2:15. I talked with Jeff, and he was choking back the tears, but was talking about how His Dad was finally home. What a wonderful wonderful blessing for him to know.
My speakers are broken so I couldn't listen, but the words to this song are so perfect and true!
Thanks for sharing, Barb!
Big Hugs to you! Praying for this family.

I've been to so many sad funerals in my life... Because of that, I don't want my funeral to be sad... I want people to laugh and celebrate my life.. I don't want any sad, sad music played at my funeral...

Death is a part of life... Yes--it's sad, and we hate to lose our loved ones. But--we all will die sometime, and we Christians know that the life waiting for us in Heaven will be MUCH better than the one we are having now. SO--I want people to be happy for me when I die.... It's hard for humans to do this --but wouldn't it be wonderful if we did??

Hugs,
Betsy

Lots of hugs to you all my friends, the funeral was good, such a wonderful send off in our going away party, I know Linda and his children will need much prayer in the days to come in his absence, but praise God for the comfort God himself will give to them, thank you all for your prayers, hugs Barbara
