Barbara...We left our church of 10 years about 1 year ago, precisely because the true gospel of repentance and faith toward God was not being preached. He pretty much preached a grace only gospel, 1/2 a gospel, which is no gospel at all. No one was getting saved. Ever. Cause he never did an altar call. Not once in 10 years. He asked once, after we'd left, how many in the church were "saved" and had them raise their hands...100%!!! HA! We know better. Zero fruit in many of them, especially the youth. So, for now, in Grand Rapids, which is called "the city of churches", we are left with no place where the real gospel is being preached.(believe me, we have looked!) The internet has become our "church" where we go to hear David Wilkerson,(Times Square Church in New York) Zac Poonen (in India), Mark Driscoll (Mars Hill Church, Seattle) or Paul Washer.(plus others we hear about thru Sermon Audio, or Sermon Index) So far it has been the best year of our 32 years in the Lord!

Thanks for the wonderful post. That has always been a favorite verse of mine. And I was interested in finding out about Sermon Audio and Sermon Index from the person who left the other comment. Although I have an awesome church, it it fun to listen other pastors from time to time to enrich my spiritual walk with the Lord. Last week one of my blog friends was dancing at her church and I watched their service on the computer and the message from her minister was amazing. God knew I needed to hear that sermon last week. Love & blessings from NC!

Wow that is so sad, and I know some of your Internet churches may be good they sure do not replace the real thing, Apostasy has spread wide in our Country, they are leaving their first love, and replacing it with a false gospel that pleases the people, and yes you can know them, God said by their fruit ye shall know them, if not fruit then most likely they are not his, and I hope some of you who wrote here will return to read my comments now, I know a couple good online churches, here are the links, Temple has live preaching service for all the services, great way to enjoy the gospel at home, I listen to them when I am home sick.

Hi Sweet Barb,

This is such a wonderful scripture!
I sure always desire to soar like the eagle! Their flight looks so effortless.

May your week be a joyful one, Gal!
You are such a bright spot in blogland!

We had a really nice church service. I worked in the nursery but could hear the service. Our pastor talked about how having a meaningful relationship with God is more important then anything else we could possibly own or do in this life.
