Pity or Rejoicing

Job 19:21 "Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me."

Wow, this is how I felt for a little while Friday, we got some bad news, I had an appointment with the orthopedic Surgeon on Friday, and he took new X Rays of my legs and knees, Oh me they are really bad, and my only option left is knee replacement, well that went over like a lead brick on my mind. I thought of Job, and this verse, lol, you know that old saying misery loves company. Well that is true and when you are suffering you like those to baby you, and let you know it will be okay.  Well that lasted a few hours then I went to praying, and had some friend pray also. Praying friends are so very important in your life, it is not fun standing alone when in a time of need, and to have a few ladies that you know care and will pray for you is so very touching.

I spent time alone with God, and he brought to mind the verse in Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose".
So I started praying and I knew in my heart this is for a reason, and through it God will get the glory, and that perhaps I will be able to help some one else up the road that will go though it, I am so blessed, God has given me such a wonderful life, I sure do not want to wallow in feeling sorry for myself instead of thanking him for all I do have. I do not want to react like the world reacts that does not have a loving heavenly father to go to, or to draw strength from, I want to lean on him, to cast all my cares on him, for he does care, he is the one who has to help, praying friends are great, but God has to touch the knee and heal the knee and guide the surgeons hand to make the correct actions during surgery, so yep I will take it to him, and I really want to leave it there, I read the whole chapter of Romans, and what comfort it gave me, God's word has that amazing touch of grace in it, and seems to sooth your sole and ease your mind where you have perfect peace in the midst of a storm in you life. I do have such a wonderful heavenly father to go to and lean on and there is nothing in this world that can harm me, those last two verses in Romans assure me of how powerful my God is, and in what great hands I am in.

Romans 8:38 "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come," 39 "Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Now I will go get ready for church, God has touched my heart, and put a new song in it, I will go worship him, and stay with my mind on him, and heavenly things til the time comes to go get this surgery, you ask why I am sharing these intimate thoughts, well perhaps some one else is going through some things too, and it may just help you to go to the lord, take it in prayer and give it to Jesus, he is such a great friend that stays close and is always waiting to hear from us, so go to him, give him your love and your heart, he can heal us from all things if it be his will, and he sure can put a new song in your heart to help you go through what ever it is that is on your mind today. It makes me think of that old song, Give it all to Jesus, sing along with me, and do have a very God blessed day.

"Give Them All To Jesus"

Are you tired of chasing pretty rainbows
Are you tired of spinning round and round
Wrap up all the shattered dreams of your life
And at the feet of JESUS lay them down.

Give them all, Give them all, Give them all to JESUS
Shattered dreams, wounded hearts,
and a broken toys,
Give them all, Give them all, Give them all to JESUS
And He will turn your sorrow into Joy.

He never said you’ll only see sunshine
He never said there’ll be no rain
He only promised us a heart full of singing
Bout the very things that once brought pain.

Give them all, Give them all, Give them all to JESUS

Shattered dreams, wounded hearts, and a broken toys
Give them all, Give them all, Give them all to JESUS
And He will turn your sorrow into Joy.

Hey Barbara!
I had total knee replacement done (right knee) on January 8 of this year. Took me a few months to actually say "it was worth it", but I can say it now. I should have the other one done, but I want to put it off as long as possible, as it does take it's toll on you. When it just becomes too painful, then I will do it. There was actually no cartiledge left in my knees, so it is/was bone-on-bone, which is VERY painful, as you are seeing for yourself. I can say, tho, that I am very glad I waited till January to have it done, as the holidays were behind me, and our winters here in Michigan are bad enough that I pretty much don't go anywhere from January thru March anyway! So, I was more than willing to hunker down and have the surgery in the winter.
If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me.

Well my dear special blog friend Barbara thankyou for my own private sermon today.I have had the strangest 12 months of strangeness! So many silly symptoms that I would not say anything to anyone and just praying but they just got more severs and stronger as if God was yelling at me"I'm trying to tell you something listen!!!!" anyway I thought I was having a heat attack or something and went along to the doctor( first time in 10 years) for that only to find after many bllood tests I have an overactive Thyroid and it was effecting my heart, mind, personality,I am fatigued. At last I am diaganosed and have some meds and hopefully in a couple of weeks a change will come and I will feel "normal" again, and although this is a long term thing I can live with that.
Thank you Barb for your lovely words the reminder that with Him all things are possible and for yourself I have added you to my prayer list as I find this is the most wonderful comfort knowing Godly women are praying for you,in no time at all you will be runnning like a young filly. Thank you again Barb.Carole xx

Isn't it wonderful that He provides surgeons and procedures that lift physical burdens from our lives just as He takes care of the spiritual? As my sight dimmed and wavered, I feared its loss completely, though friends assured me lense replacement is a daily activity. My surgeon did eleven the day she replaced my left one! They were right -- and I can hardly wait for the 24th so the right eye can see as well. May God grant you peace and comfort through your recovery and may it be as uneventful as mine!! God bless you.

Wow how can I say thank you to you wonderful women who have come along side of me, held me up in prayer, and I know the prayers will keep me going, Wow such testimonies for him, Bless you dear Cindy, I know you know my pain, yes bone on bone with the bones twisted and uneven, ugh..
Grammy I will pray with you too for your eyes, I had both mine did back in the 80's very unusual for a person as young as I was, but God knew, and he will bless you in your vision just as he did me, God gives us these great surgeons and if we are smart we will use them, I prayed for a while that he would take this from me, but instead he told me his grace is sufficient, I am trusting in that. Barb with your thyroid, I know medicine will make it right, and will give you 100% of your life back, it is so strange that we go through all these things, but Praise God we do need to go through them alone, he is always with us. Thank you again my dear friends for encouragement.

Oh dear Mrs. Barbara! You hit the nail on the head again for me today! I have goosebumps! You are so amazing in your words of wisdom and always "speaking directly to ME!"

I'm SO sorry that you have to go through this operation. However, I will keep you in my prayers... God is working through you. I'm glad that you see this. Love you. Sandra

I am one that does not do good...when I know something like a surgery, or even a dentist visit are coming. I can really dwell on all the what-if's...or just being somewhat *grounded* more than usual....thanks for this..and yes indeed I will pray. I have been putting off seeing my doctor about my shoulder that hs been getting worse and worser my the month at first..then the week..now each day it seems worse...I can't sleep because the shoulder pain wakes me up...I am avoiding becaue I don't want even the possiblity of surgery....so I truly know how you feel...I will get in soon....
