♥Happy Birthday To Me♥

Well 67 years ago today a little girl was born, now this little girl grew up to be a woman, she married her high school sweetheart, they had 5 children, and now have 11 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. But the most important date was not September 1, but July 18, 1974, that was the day I was born again, and I have never been the same sense.

So with all this said, I am here to tell you I am too old to die young now... So I will choose to live for Christ all the days of my life, no matter how long that may be, 10 years or 50 we never know the time God will call us home. But thanks to Jesus Christ I am ready to meet God, and ready pass from death unto life eternal, and to be with him eternally. So today my B-day, I have a few scriptures to share with you, so read with me this holy word God has given to us women of age.
Psa 71:9 "Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth."
Psa 92:14 "They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;"
Isa 46:4 "And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
The lord has promises here, and he is still blessing me at 67, I
know he will continue to be my constant companion on this  journey of life God has so graciously given to me, he is with my every step, and he upholds me with his right hand.
Our dear lord talks many times about the aged, just like in Titus 2:3 "The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;"
Titus 2:4 "That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,"
Titus 2:5 "To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. "
We aged women have an awesome responsibility to the younger women, God tells us to teach them in his ways, to show by example how to be Godly women, and how to serve the lord,  how to take care of our own husbands and children.
My children are all grown, and I must admit I messed up many times in raising them, but God leads and we must as parents follow his leading, if not, we end with unruly and wild children; we need to show them the love of God, we cannot be unloving and expect them to be loving, children are what they are taught.
So as I leave you today, just think on these things, what are we teaching and training our children today? Is it to be modest, and well clothed, to be loving and care for others, to be keepers of the home and family instead of the bread winners? I never worked outside the home, until my children were grown, we never had much money, but we lived within our means, and that made it possible for me to stay home and train my own children.
It is rough these days, but if you keep within your means you still can do it, keep your eyes on Christ, and let him lead you, when you see that new dress think do I really need that, the answer is usually no, most of us have very full closets and do not need another piece of clothing.  So I will close with those thoughts.
Today is the first day of September, 2010, wow, fall is here, and so many wonderful things will happen in this season. The leaves
will start to change soon, and the animals will be trying to put up the nuts and acorns for winter, we can take a few lessons from them, to prepare our own homes for the winter, to put up things we can and to have our homes comfortable to begin our long winter struggle. Have a wonderful day, this day the lord hath given me breath, made it possible for me to touch so many lives in the years I have lived, one thing I hope is said of me, and that is that others could see Christ when they looked at me. I
never gained lots of money or fame, but to my family I am the core, so are you. Lots of hugs and blessings.

Happy happy Birthday dear Barbara...your blog, your sweet spirit are all encouraging to so many of us. I love the wisdom you shared today about doing without when you stayed home when the kids were at home...oh friend, do women need to hear that today..they are so pressured to go work for the "toys"....none of it all will matter one day, you cannot take it with you...your scriptures were so great too..I hope you have a great day.

Goodmorning barb Happy Happy irthday to you.As I look about me at 61 I do not see some of my friends anymore as they are seated on the right hand of our Heavenly Father, so many are dying so young it is heartbreaking,so it is an honour to be too old to die young and what a blessing that although we aspire to be with HIM he is letting us stay a little longer to share the word.Thank you Barb you are always an insperation. Happy Birthday dear friend! Thank you for the shared wisdom and encouragement!

I haven't worked (a paid job) outside of my home since my marriage either, and as of late that decision has really come under fire by my oldest daughter. Your encouragement really touched my heart today. Thank you!

Have a wonderfully blessed birth-anniversary!
