♥ Fantastic Friday Fotos ♥

Well Hello on this beautiful day in Georgia, Thank you for all the well wishes for my dear husbands birthday,
he really appreciated it, he had a wonderful day, lots of phone calls, lots of cards, and especially a wonderful
dinner at a friends house, even ice cream and cake, he is truly blessed and knows it. So today, hummmm I have been talking about our 50th anniversary coming up next month, well how about showing you some photos we took on our 25th anniversary, hard to believe that was 25 years ago, wow where has the time gone. We took a marvellous cruise ship to the Bahamas, the 3 day 4 night package, and it was the time of
our life. They treat you like king and queens, and wow such food and fun you will never experience any where else, I really recommend going if you ever get the chance.  The first few photos are the Ship, One of the elegant buffets, and Nassau Bahama as we were approaching.

Now this is Salt Cay, it was an island they took us for the day, we had a great time of going over in a Calypso boat, then had a wonderful picnic, snorkeled, and rested in the double hammocks that were on  the island. It is the island where they filmed Gilligan's Island that movie that was on TV way back when.
We had fresh coconut that my dear husband shimmied up a tree and shook loose, then cracked it on this bulkhead to get the milk, and coconut out of it, he give some to the other passengers also, they thought that was just the best thing, oh we had a ball,
The next photo is the open sea, just wonderful, and last but not least is us at our anniversary dinner, they had come an taken the photo, and it is not very good of us, but they came out with
flaming Alaska for our wedding cake, it was so good, The who dining room sang happy anniversary to us, and the dinner we had chosen was just perfect. . Oh what good memories,
I loved every minute of it, and really hated coming back to my
ho hum life in Florida then.
As I was gathering these photos, I let my mind wander back, and could almost feel like I was there again,
we had some wonderful anniversaries for sure, memories as we get older really mean so much, and we cherish each of them. God has been good to us, he has given us a new hope in each other, after believing in Jesus Christ. All we are or ever hope to be is through him, in him, and by him, God bless each of you reading this, and may God bless your married life, and that one day you will share all your precious photos like I have here, have a wonderful and Fantastic Friday my friend.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

Well praise God he has allowed my blessed husband to see another birthday, he is 69 today, and his only request was a Sausage swirl, now is that sweet or what. I did get him a Marine Battery a few weeks back for his birthday, so he did get something else he really wanted. But today I got up early and made this Sausage Swirl, I will show you, and give you the instructions later in this post, it is so good, and his favorite now, a friend give one to us, and ever since he loves them, making it for him for his birthday was such a blessing for me.

That is why I am later in posting today too.
So Here is the photo and recipe for the wonderful Breakfast Sausage Swirl.

Chuck likes Eggs on top of his, I eat mine like a Cinnamon roll.

Now the Recipe for Sausage Swirls

Ingredients

2 C. all purpose flour
1 t sugar
4 T baking powder
1/2 salt
1/2 cup shortening
2/3 milk
1 egg
1 pound roll of sausage meat

Directions

Sift flour and dry ingredients into bowl.
Cut in shortening until mixtures resembles coarse crumbs.
pour milk and egg in mix, dough will be very moist, roll out on floured board and knead until texture is smooth and okay to roll out.
Roll out into a rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick.
Pat out the sausage meat onto dough. Roll up like a cinnamon roll. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate over night.
Now you do not have to let it set over night, if you are not rushed you can make it in the morning, that is what I did.

The next morning preheat oven to 350 and cut swirls as you would a cinnamon roll. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake about 40 minutes or until golden brown.

I hope you enjoy this, and do make it for your family they will love it, promise.. My honey sure enjoyed his. Happy Birthday my beloved husband..

Song of Songs 2:3-5 "As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste."
"He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love."
"Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love."

Oh my  I do love the Song of songs it is filled with such sweet and heart touching scripture. Love it, and I do love my beloved.

Come Sit A Spell

Another Wednesday is here,  Please sit a bit with me, lets chat, and may I pour you a glass of tea?  Well praise God I live yet another day, my dear husband's birthday is tomorrow, he will be 69 years old, wow, he was 18 when we met, 19 when we married, and here he is 69, my word where has the time went to, in September we will celebrate our 50th anniversary, you know
I would not trade one day of that time with him for anything
this world has to offer.
We were kids when we married, I was barely 17 and he 19, of
course like all 17 year old I thought I knew it all, WOW such
a big awakening I had when I realized I did not know as much as I thought I did,  for instance...My first load of wash as a wife;
I wanted it to be clean and white and just perfect for my new
husband, he worked in a Steel Fabricating plant in Detroit at
that time, and he would come home very dirty, so of course I needed to pay special attention to his work clothes. I filled the wash tub (yeah I had a wringer washer) with lots of hot water, then added my clothes, then the soap, then poured lots of bleach all over his blue jeans, and work shirts, OH ME!!! Did I do that?  Yep I truly did, well needless to say I ruined all his work clothes, they all looked Ty-dyed, lol and that had not been invented yet, I wonder if they got that look from my laundry, perhaps I need to see if some one was peeking that day. ☺
So the young are not always as wise as they think they are, I have many tales I could tell about learning how to become a
woman, and how to be the wife my dear husband deserved, Now if you really want to learn, look in Proverbs chapter 31, God tells us in his word how to be a Godly wife, mother and woman.
I learned so much from his direction, once I was a Christian, I really began to live then, to see how important life really is, so on this wonderful Wednesday God has given to you, look at your life, I am sure if you are like me, there are improvements that can be made, take hold, and pray, and ask our Father in heaven to help you be the woman he created you to be. I so hope you have a wonderful day, and if you have time stop and read Proverbes 31, it will make your day.

The world uses physical and material measures to judge a person's worth.

Yet, the true measure of those we love and respect
is not counted by looks or possessions.
It is a combination of the quirky and the kind
and the uncommon way they do and say things
that make them unique and dear to us.

Thank you for spending this time with me, and letting me Ramble on, I love Reminiscing, don't you...♥

Tasty Tuesday

Company Potato Casserole

Ingredients

8 medium potatoes
1/2 cup butter
1 can cream of celery or cream of chicken soup
3 tablespoons onion, minced
1 1/2 cups Cheddar cheese, grated
1 pint sour cream
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
corn flakes
2 tablespoons butter

Directions

Bring 4 quarts water to a boil; add 1 tablespoon salt and unpeeled
potatoes. Boil until tender. Allow to cool, then remove peels.
Grate potatoes and set aside (the grating disc of a food processor of
a hand grater may be used).
Heat butter and soup; add minced onion, cheese, sour cream, salt and
pepper. Stir into potatoes and transfer to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Microwave cornflakes with 2 tablespoons butter and use to top
potatoes. Refrigerate overnight.
Bake at 350°F for 45 to 60 minutes
(until top is nicely golden brown).

Now for a wonderful Dessert to go with this casserole;
Amazing Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

2 cups granulated sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Liquid Ingredients:
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup. boiling water

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 C).
Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt or tube pan.
Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl of an electric mixer.
Add the liquid ingredients (except for the boiling water), and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. [Just a hand mixer works well -- but don't cut down on the mixing time, and don't think it's too thick.]
Stir in boiling water. Batter will be thin like water.
Pour into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven for 50-55 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in cake comes out clean.
Remove cake from oven and let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then invert cake onto wire rack and let cool completely.
Any glaze would be good on this or just sprinkled with powdered sugar. I love the Chocolate Frosting myself.

Marvellous and Sunny Monday

I am a busy bee, with the Revival, and visitation, and Sunday, WOW...for an old woman it gets alot for some one young probably would not seem like so much, been a busy week, and very blessed and productive week, we did not get home before 10 nightly during the revival,  and our Pastor preached last night out of Acts, where the man fell out of the window after Paul preaching so long, he preached one hour and 35 minutes, whew my hiney was hurting for sure, but it was good, and it was to prove a point, lol, and then we had lots of fellowship after so was late again last night, I slept until 8:45 today too, really unusual for me, but I needed it.

We had 10 precious souls all week, now if you are not shoutin' then your shouter is broken, it has been a glorious week, and I was sorry to see it come to an end. We will have a baptizing service next Sunday.

We are starting a Prayer vigil, every day, Pastor said, any day you can make it, come by our church and pray, if some one else is there than great you will have prayer partner, and some fellowship too, I think it is a wonderful idea, and God is really blessing our church, because of us, or because of the Pastor, NO It is all God, he is seeing a handful of praying and faithful folks who want to serve him; and he is blessing us for all our efforts, it is wonderful, and I hear of so many getting saved these days, it is like it was in the 70's again.  I really feel it is the last time God is going to pour his Holy Spirit out before he returns, AMEN I am so ready, I am tired and I am ready for heaven, Praise God and I say come quickly Lord Jesus Come quickly.
I hope you all had a blessed weekend and may it continue in your hearts all week.
