Back To Normal Today
We had a good New Year Eve Party with our church, lots of food, fellowship, and I am happy the holidays are all over, and I can get back to a normal day, Monday is our Sabbath, our day of rest; being in the Ministry the weekend is not the time for our resting, it is the busiest two days of the week in fact, but Monday, oh I love Monday's, I call it My Monday. Sooooooo today I do what I want to do, catching up on the computer, been a few days since I had time, and a few errands I must run, we have some phone calls to make and then the day is mine.
It is a nice day here today too, sunny and warmer, praise God, we did not get all those horrific storms some parts of the Country did get, we sure did lots of praying for those dear ones who were in the midst of them.
I have this wonderful cookie recipe to share with you, I know you will love it, cookies are my favorite dessert and I love the different ones.

Soft Lemonade Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup thawed lemonade concentrate, divided

Additional sugar

Directions
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour and baking soda; add to the creamed mixture alternately with 1/3 cup lemonade concentrate, beating well after each addition.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 400° for 8 minutes. Remove to wire racks. Brush with remaining lemonade concentrate; sprinkle with sugar. Cool. Yield: 6 dozen.

They will melt in your mouth, your family will simply love them too. Have a very blessed week, and I will post more when I can.

Hello Barbara, When I read your post and it ended with ...
I thought you were resting. :) Then, I read the rest. I understand what you mean about the weekends not being restful to church workers. With having been in the bus ministry and deaf ministry. I think that is why I learned to love Mondays. A new 'beginning' or a 'restful end'

When I was in fulltime churchwork for many years, I had Fridays off every week--so that was my personall Sabbath...

Looks like I'm buying some lemonade concentrate tomorrow. :-) I can't really take off Mondays but we do start school around 10am and only go to about 2pm.

My dh is the pastor of our little church and he also has a full time job which he works from 11:30pm to between 4am-7am. So Mondays are our rest day (as much as possible);-D

Barbara,

I'm glad that you have a nice new year celebration. Mine was rather quiet and peaceful, and I was grateful for that.

Those cookies sound good. I have a question though, what kind of frozen lemonaide do you use? Sometimes, there is pink lemonaide and other times, it's just regular yellow. What do you suggest?

Anyway, I'm glad to hear that the weather in your part of the world is pleasant. So is ours, for the moment. What a blessing that is! :)

Take care.
