Thankful Thursday

How many remember these? I wore them in9th grade, with bobby socks and all, black watch plaid skirt, oh me I was styling for sure.
I am thankful I lived in easier times, and have seen so many things had been invented. I suppose my generation has seen more inventions than any other generation in history.  To me that is a blessing, God has allowed me to see all the things these eyes have seen.

I remember standing out in my front yard and all of a sudden the whole house was shaking, and such a terrible sound I had never heard, we found out later a Jet had flew over, and it broke the sound barrier. Now isn't that something to remember.  lol

Never in my young life did I think there would be an automatic dish washer around, just put all them plates in that machine, and it cleaned them better than I did, yes I sure have seen some inventions, like me sitting here in my living room tying this on a computer, wow now that is a great invention. I do love my laptop, I am getting used to it now, and truly enjoying it.

I had a great day today, seen my doctor, (I am doing good) then we ate lunch at Shoney's, looked at some new Suv's then did our monthly grocery shopping, whew, a very full day, now I am warm and cozy catching up on the blogging world. Hope you all have a great evening, and God bless you real good.

Oh yes----I remember those shoes!!!! I wore them too with bobby socks!!! Times have really changed since i graduated in 1960.... In fact, things seem to be happening TOO fast---at least for me, especially in the technology world.

As soon as we buy a new computer, it is soon outdated. As soon as we buy a new camera, it soon is outdated... AND--what about the cellphones???? GOSH---I am too old for all of the fancy-dancy stuff... ha ha ha

Hugs,
Betsy

Oh yes! I had the black and white, brown and white, and red and white ones! Also loved my penny loafers and bobby socks ,too. I suppose you had at least a 50 yard petticoat ,right? I remember the day I got my 75yard petticoat, and then discovered only 2 of my flare skirts would go over the massive petticoat. Mama used to starch them so stiff they stood up on their own...really...I kid you not!

Oh my I sure do remember those shoes. I got a new pair every year for school. The bobby socks and poodle skirts and yards of petticoats.
I know that this world is moving way to fast. We need to slow down and take time to enjoy each day.
Have a great weekend and glad you are doing well.

I remember these, i wore them from 4th grade through 9th grade. since we were poor, i had school shoes and churchshoes, these were the school shoes. i liked those times to, but would not want to give up my coffeepot, microwave, computer and internet, HD TV, i love all those things. but then we might have been better off or maybe I just think so.

I remember those shoes. I never had a pair, but my friend who lived down the street did. My feet were so narrow, my mom always had to find special shoes for me. I so wanted some of these though :-)
I'm with you, we have much to be thankful for.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Marcia

Yes! Sure do remember those shoes.
They had to be polished all the time.
Talking about changes? Can we even count them. Life was so much simpler back then.

Only my saddle oxford had to be special made for my pronated ankle, so the soles not only were thicker, but stuck out further. And the bobby socks that varied from two to three down turns! Others got to wear those penny loafers, but I needed the additional arch support 'cause I inherited my dad's flat feet. Amazing how one photo can bring back so many memories. Oh, and polishing those little jewels!! Black scuff marks!!!

Those who have the flat feet I sure can relate, when I was young my folks only put Buster Brown shoes on my feet, we had some kind of xray machine in our shoe store, that showed where the shoe was fitting, very neat as I remember, and I always had to wear the shoes with lots of support too, yep I was flat footed as a duck, lol loved them oxfords though, yeah to polish them, then I always buffed mine too, so they did not look polished, hee, yes many good memories asssociated with these shoes.
