Sadly Sharing It Saturday

We have been fighting a critter for days now, he got into the chicken coop two days ago, killed my Esther, and pulled lots of feathers out of the other hens, we got a foot trap, that did not work, this critter got the meat out of it, and never tripped the trap, so Chuck went and borrowed a live cage trap from a friend, this is what we captured last night.

Chuck is taking him over to Joe's, they eat them; eek...
at any rate, he gone and I sure hope no others are out there, Chuck will bring the cage back though so if there is we will trap them too. Nothing worse than critters that bother your live stock, we thought it was a opossum, but turned out to be this Raccoon. They look cute, but they are deadly and would chew you up in a second. Hissed when you got near him, I am so glad he did not get to all my hens, broke my heart loosing Esther, you remember I took some photos of her the other day, just striking a pose, she was so dear, come right and eat corn out of my hand. She will be missed.
So that is my sad sharing for today.

But on a happier note, tomorrow is Sunday, praise God, my dear husband is preaching tomorrow in Jacksonville, FL, keep us in your prayers please, that God will fill him with power, and clarity of speech, and that he will preach with boldness. Pray for traveling mercy for us too.

God bless you real good today and always, Barbara ♥

Oh Barbara, Poor Esther... I'm so sorry... Glad you caught the culprit though.... We have raccoons here too--trying to eat the bird seed. They are smart critters --and actually 'stole' a couple of suet feeders (feeder and all) before I found a sturdy clip to hang the feeders on.

Can't imagine eating that thing though.. Yipes!!!

God Bless.
Hugs,
Betsy

Yes they are strong critters, we had a foot trap and he store the food out of it, and drug the trap a few feet, but did not get caught in it, that is smart, hugs my friend, have a good day..♥

he is really cute...his eyes look pitiful...but I've heard they can be vicious. Also eating him...yuck. Hope your weekend is great.

I'm so sorry -- but sort of glad the thief was caught. We lost ten hens last year and never found the culprit. As for eating raccoon -- oh, my! Shades of the Clampetts! I have visions of Granny in the kitchen. Not for me.

Hope your health continues to improve!

We've lost so many chicks to raccoons. I've never had one get an adult though. I'm so sorry.

Well I am with you all I could never eat one, but the blacks in our area do, and love them, Grammy yeah I picture grammy Clampett too, heehee, we caught another one later that night in the trap, so there was two. None this morning so yeah, hope we are done with them for a while anyway, we he 30 chickens disappear about two years ago, one by one, never any sight of them, I felt so bad, but we never did know what that was. Got to run, have a very blessed day, and keep us in prayer.. ♥ y'all

I hope that you all had a wonderful time in Florida! Big hugs and many blessings!
