God Blessing in spite of the storms...

Where to start, been a week since I updated, and so much has happened since then, I am still praising the lord, and thanking him for keeping his hand upon us. We had water come all the way up to the carport, but none in the house, thank you lord, some did get in my dh little blue car, and started coming in his shed, but no real damage, with water you never know, it has an unstoppable power that rages through where ever it may, some may loose faith, but I know God allows things to happen to us also, just like the lost world, it rains on the just and the unjust, one of my verses I remember now, and took it very serious this past week.  Mt 5:45  That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Some times we just need to be reminded of this statement, even when we are in the will of God, doing his work we still may go through some things that are not very good, though very profitable to our spiritual being, this has been one of these times. Take a minute and pray for all those who have been so devastated with the flooding, the fires, and the earthquakes, to name a few, seem God is pouring his wrath out on America, how many of us are looking up and listening and then heeding his ways? I for one am, and know many who read this blog do too, we much not take a day for granted, but live like it is our last, doing all we can to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We had a wonderful week so far, the church we been attending had services Tuesday evening, we went and were blessed by the wonderful and special singing, and preaching. Now yesterday being a holiday, I fixed a macaroni salad, hot dogs, and fresh tomatoes from our garden, although the water destroyed much of our garden we did have a few tomatoes left. Then last night went to a local church having services, and was blessed yet again, God word is true and does what it says, fills us with complete joy, and gladness, such simple verses can really touch your heart, and bring in joy ever lasting.

Today, staying inside, too hot to do much outside, still in the high 90's here, and the humidity is way high too, best place for old folks like us is inside. We may venture out later to pick up a few things needed, but not for long, I hope your Thursday is a good as mine, and you can say along with me, Praise God for his goodness and mercy upon me. Have a blessed day, and know Jesus loves you.

So happy to hear that you didn't have water come into your house! I have been praying for everyone that has been affected by the floods, fire, power outages, heat, etc. So much is happening and sad that many in our country just don't "see" that God is trying to get our attention. I pray for the lost that they will feel the love of Christ for them so strongly that they are willing to repent and give their lives to HIM.

Sorry trouble has come your way but like you said God knows what He is doing. I'm just glad the water did not get in your house. And thankful that both of you are okay.

With love to you!

PSALM 23

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD,
That's Relationship!

I shall not want,
This supply is!

MAKE ME WALK IN GREEN PASTURES,
This is rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters,
This is refreshing!

He restores my soul,
This is healing!

GUIDE ME FOR THE PATHS OF JUSTICE,
That's Guidance!

FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR NAME,
This is on purpose!

THOUGH I WALK THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH,
That's Testing!

I will fear no evil,
That's Protection!

Thou art with me,
That is fidelity!

YOUR STICK AND YOUR staff they comfort me,
This is discipline!

Prepare a table before ME IN THE PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES,
This is hope!

UNGE MY HEAD WITH OIL
That's Consecration!

And my cup runneth over,
That's Abundance!

SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY A follow me EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE,
This is a blessing!

AND I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD
That's Security!

FOR LONG DAYS,
This is eternity!

May the Lord bless you and keep you!

In Christ,

I certainly appreciate all your replies, and the love that you show to me, God bless you and we are fairing well now, so hot, and so humid like LA it is sweltering, and I am just a glistening, for any one not of Southern speech that is sweating.

Hi Barbara, It's so good to hear from you. I had no idea what had happened to you...

Glad you missed the worst of the storm. We had a storm last Thurs. night which brought down a couple of trees behind our house.. We were fine --but that was too close for comfort...

Take care and try to stay cool during this hot summer.
Hugs,
Betsy

What a blessing that the water stayed out of your home Barbara! Truly, the LORD is in complete control of all these things. I hope you have A/C where you live...sounds like it is a necessary thing! :) I don't do well with high heat and humidity...thankfully, it rarely gets that way here. Have a wonderful day!

Blessings,
Camille
