Frivolous Friday

Though I doubt if we will have much of a snack Super Bowl Sunday we will use these yummy recipes another time, will always be a hit with a gang. I know the Super Bowl is this Sunday, many wait all year for this, it is one Sunday, if I am well enough by then I will be in the house of the lord, not in front of a TV watching men pounding and bouncing off each other over a little football. LOL I like one game a year, that is the game of Florida VS Georgia, it is a good rival game, and our team is the Gators, we are Florida transplants here in Georgia so our team is forever in our heart. So any how, here are a couple quick good recipes for you to use.  
Sausage Croissants

1 pounds sausage, cooked*
(any flavor desired - i.e. hot, mild, etc.)
2 cans crescent rolls
16 ounces cream cheese

Press the one can of the crescent rolls together at the seams in a jellyroll pan. Mix cooked sausage with
cream cheese and place on crescent roll dough. Put second layer of crescent rolls pressed together
on top (this is easy if placed on wax paper and pressed together at the seams and then flip it on top of the jellyroll pan). Bake as crescent roll packaging directs. Cut into small wedges with a pizza cutter.
Flourless Double-Chocolate Pecan Cookies

 










Ingredients

Makes 12


3 cups confectioners' sugar
3/4 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder (spooned and leveled)
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
5 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans (or other type of nut)
4 large egg whites, room temperature


Directions


Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, cocoa, and salt. Stir in chocolate and pecans. Add egg whites and stir just until incorporated (do not overmix).


Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls, 3 inches apart, onto two parchment-lined rimmed baking sheets. Bake until cookie tops are dry and crackled, about 25 minutes, rotating sheets halfway through. Transfer sheets to wire racks and let cookies cool completely. (To store, keep in an airtight container, up to 3 days.)  If you back on a cookie sheet, they run from the spraying of sheet, best to follow the directions, they are so good.

Well the word frivolous means superficial, and not serious in behavior, well that is me today, so think I will post some silly stuff, I am always serious, and today I want to be frivolous. Giggles, so hang with me.
I will show you some really silly and beautiful things. These photos were taken on Assateague, and Chincoteague, VA we spent a year there in 1995 it was gorgeous.
Here is the place where the horses were, we did not see any that day, but as you can see they did leave us a little something.

Next is looking out from the Lighthouse on Assateague, we had to climb 170 stairs to get to the top. It was such a beautiful site and so worth the work to get there.

This one is the beautiful light house, a member in our church had the keys, he was in the Coast Guard and able to show us around inside, a rarity, most never get to see the inside. My dear husband collects Light Houses and it was extra special for him too, we had a wonderful time on this spectacular island.

Next is the Ducks crossing the road on the island, they love it.

Now last but not least is the view we had from our front porch, we lived right on main street in Chincoteague, and this is overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, such beauty these eyes have seen, God has blessed us and our ministry above and over anything I ever expected, the tales I could tell, the places we did  go just on faith, sometimes never knowing where we would stay or what we would do, and God always provided such wonderful people to care for us, and to give us the love from him, all my thanks goes to my lord and all that his hand has provided.  Have a very blessed weekend, and hope you enjoyed my travels, God bless you real good. ♥
