Thankful Thursday

It has been a great day, my dh took the final test and passed
now he has the hands on test and will have his passengers
license, he can drive any vehicle that hold passengers now,
mostly will be for driving the Church Bus. SO Praise God,
we all are so very blessed, read these few things and see
if you agree, you are truly blessed of God. Amen...

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who won't survive the week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 20 million people around the world.

If you attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than almost three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read anything at all.

You are so blessed in ways you may never even know.

If we tried to count the blessings our loving Heavenly Father bestows upon us daily we would find it an impossible task our blessings are to numerous to count.

How dare we ever complain that we are poor, persecuted, hard done by, or anything else, we have a roof over our heads, a few dollars in the bank, a little money in our purse, hot water for a shower, food in the refrigerator, etc etc. We are the richest 8% in the world, even the poorest of us. We can go to church and worship our awesome God in complete freedom. We have never experienced true persecution in any shape or form. Let us never forget or take it for granted, our Father has blessed us so greatly, we should be forever grateful for all the wonderful blessings that Father pours upon us daily, and we should be constantly thanking Him who has given us so very much.

Now Have a wonderfully blessed evening, and KNOW you are blessed of the blessed.

Just one of HIS flock, Barbara

Tasty Tuesday

Pecan Bundt Cake

3 sticks butter, softened
2 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
5 eggs, separated
3 1/4 cups sifted all purpose floor
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup light cream or milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 cups finely chopped pecans, plus pecan halves to garnish

Grease and flour a 12 cup bundt pan. With an electric mixer beat butter until fluffy. Gradually add sugar. Beat until very light and fluffy. In a bowl, beat yolks for 5 minutes, until thick; fold into sugar mixture.
Sift baking powder, flour and salt onto waxed paper; alternately add to yolk mixture with cream and vanilla. Fold in pecans. In a large bowl, beat egg whites until they form stiff but not dry peaks. Fold into batter; spread into prepared pan.

Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until cracked slightly. Cool cake in pan. Remove from pan; spoon on sugar glaze. Top with pecan halves.

Sugar Glaze:
Combine one cup confectioners sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla in a small bowl. Add about 5 tsp. milk to make a thick, pouring consistency.

I hope you have a great Tuesday, and enjoy baking as much as I do, I have some
teen girls that I teach in SS, and they love baking, one of the girls brought cup
cakes for SS last Sunday, and bless her heart she made enough for all the bus
children too, she is a sweetie, and has a heart for God, amen, it is such a blessing
to teach tease girls, I even learn from them. God bless you and have a great day.

Labor Day, the first Monday in September,

is a creation of the labor movement and
is dedicated to the social and economic
achievements of American workers. It
constitutes a yearly national tribute to
the contributions workers have made to
the strength, prosperity, and
well-being of our country.

Take rest; a field that has rested gives a
bountiful crop. I hope you have a safe
and happy day, enjoy it, we all work hard
all week, and we need to take time to rest
our bodies, to get ready to work again, even
God rested, do not feel bad about it, just
enjoy your time spent with family and
friends. God bless you and I hope, like
me you will love this day God has given.

Did you ever have any special Labor day
that sticks out in your mind? I do, my
birthday is September 1 and it sometimes
fall on Labor Day, so when this happens
we usually do something really special, I
remember once we took a scenic drive up
to the mountains, it was a wonderful trip,
and one that will stay in my mind forever.
