MARY MOTHER OF JESUS

MARY WAS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF A GODLY WOMAN, AND THE PICTURE OF MOTHERHOOD.
SHE WAS CHOSEN OF GOD TO BE THE MOTHER OF JESUS, WE WERE CHOSEN OF GOD TO
BE MOTHERS TOO. WE ARE GOING TO LOOK AT MARY AS A MOTHER IN THE NEXT FEW
MINUTES, AND WE NEED TO BE ASKING OURSELVES HOW DO WE MEASURE UP IN THE
MINISTRY OF MOTHERHOOD GOD HAS CHOSEN US FOR, YES, MOTHERHOOD IS INDEED
A MINISTRY. ONE OF THE GREATEST MINISTRIES GOD COULD HAVE BESTOWED UPON
US AS WOMEN. HOW SERIOUS ARE WE ABOUT BEING MOTHERS, DO WE REALLY KNOW
THE IMPACT WE HAVE ON OUR CHILDREN, DO WE REALIZE THE GREAT RESPONSIBILITY GOD HAS GIVEN US.

LETS TURN IN OUR BIBLES TO LUKE 1:26-33

NOW THIS IS AN ACCOUNT GIVEN OF THE MOTHER OF OUR LORD.

HER NAME IS MARY. GREEK FORM OF MIRIAM. THE NAME SIGNIFIES EXALTED ONE.

SHE WAS A DESCENDANT FROM THE LINEAGE OF DAVID, SO AS JOSEPH WAS, HIS
GENEALOGY ACCOUNT IS IN MATT 1:1-17 HERS IS IN LUKE 2:23-38 GOD HAD BROUGHT
THE PERFECT COUPLE TOGETHER TO BRING HIS SON INTO THE WORLD.

SHE WAS A VIRGIN, BUT ESPOUSED TO ONE OF THE SAME ROYAL STOCK LIKE HER, HOWEVER OF LOW ESTATE, NOT WEALTHY PEOPLE.

THE ADDRESS OF THE ANGEL TO HER, HE SURPRISED HER WITH THIS SALUTATION “HAIL THOU ART HIGHLY FAVORED.” THIS STATEMENT WAS INTENDED TO RAISE IN HER.

A. A VALUE FOR HERSELF, TO CREATE SELF ESTEEM
B. AN EXPECTATION OF GREAT NEWS. NOT FROM ABROAD, BUT FROM ABOVE. (HAIL) rejoice.
C. SHE IS DIGNIFIED. THOU ART HIGHLY FAVOURED.GOD HAS PUT HONOR UPON HER
D. SHE HAS THE PRESENCE OF GOD WITH HER.”THE LORD IS WITH THEE. NOTHING IS TO BE DESPAIRED, NOT THE PERFORMANCE OF ANY SERVICE, NOT THE OBTAINING OF ANY FAVOURS THOUGH EVER SO GREAT, IF WE HAVE GOD WITH US.
E. SHE HAS THE BLESSING OF GOD UPON HER. BLESSED ART THOU AMONG WOMEN.”
NOW THIS A LITTLE BACKGROUND ON MARY, SHE WAS THE OBJECT OF SHEER GRACE,
SHE RECEIVED GOD’S FAVOUR. SHE WAS BLESSED AMONG ALL WOMEN. GOD CHOOSE
MARY BECAUSE HE BELIEVED IN HER. SHE WAS NOT SINLESS, BUT A WOMAN OF GOOD
CHARACTER, AND WILLING TO FOLLOW GOD IN CARRYING OUT HIS TASK. GOD USES THE ONES WHO ARE WILLING, IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO BE USED OF THE LORD, HE WILL PASS YOU BY..
SHE WAS DEDICATED TO GODS WILL
SHE WAS COMMITTED TO GODS WILL
SHE WAS WILLING TO DO GODS WILL.

EVERY CHRISTIAN HAS BEEN ENDOWED WITH ABILITIES TO SERVE GOD. THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS THE CHRISTIAN TO USE THE GIFTS GOD HAS GIVEN THEM. SO LET ME ASK YOU, HOW ARE YOU USING YOUR GOD GIVEN TALENTS FOR THE LORD, TAKE TIME AND PONDER ON THIS QUESTION, ARE YOU USING YOUR TALENT TO UPLIFT THE NAME OF JESUS? OR ARE YOU TRYING TO UPLIFT YOURSELF? SHAME ON YOU, GOD GIVES US THE TALENT TO USE FOR HIS GLORY AND TO SERVE HIM IN ALL WAYS, USE THIS GOD GIVEN ABILITY TO ALWAYS SERVE HIM IN ANY WAY HE WANTS YOU TO.

NOW WE SEE IN VERSE 29, MARY WAS TROUBLED, CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT SHE
WAS FEELING, HERE WAS A YOUNG WOMAN, A DEDICATED GODLY WOMAN, A VIRGIN,
ABOUT TO MARRY THE MAN SHE LOVED. PROBABLY CAUGHT UP IN DREAMS OF HER
BELOVED, WEDDING PLANS, AS YOUNG WOMEN DO. WONDERING WHAT HER MARRIED
LIFE WOULD BE LIKE, THEN OUT OF THE BLUE, GABRIEL SPOKE TO HER. I’M SURE
HER REACTION MUST OF BEEN OF FEAR, SHOCK, AND SHEER AMAZEMENT. THEN SHE
THOUGHT, OH WHAT WILL JOSEPH THINK. WHAT WOULD THE TOWNS PEOPLE SAY.SHE
WAS A UNMARRIED PREGNANT WOMAN, BACK IN THOSE TIMES THEY STONED UNWED
PREGNANT WOMEN TO DEATH. NOW MARY BEING COMMITTED TO DO GODS WILL SIMPLY
TRUSTED THAT GOD WOULD NOT CALL HER TO A MEANINGLESS TASK OR ONE BEYOND HER ABILITY TO DO WITH HIS HELP.

THE MESSENGER OF GOD SAID, TO MARY, NOT TO BE AFRAID. MARY ACCEPTED GODS WILL FOR HER LIFE. SHE REPLIED “BEHOLD THY HANDMAID OF THE LORD” handmaid MEANS SERVANT. HER FAITH WAS PROVED BY HER OBEDIENCE. MARY BELIEVED TO
DO GOD’S WILL WAS MORE IMPORTANT THAN SELF PRESERVATION.

REMEMBER NOW GOD HAD COME TO JOSEPH IN A DREAM SO HE ALREADY KNEW THE
TRUTH, AND HAD NO FEARS ABOUT MARRYING HER. HE LOVED HER AND HIS FAITH IN GOD WAS COMPLETE.

SO THEY WERE MARRIED, JOSEPH KNEW HER NOT SEXUALLY UNTIL SHE HAD BROUGHT FORTH HER FIRSTBORN SON, AND THEY CALLED HIM JESUS.

HERE WE SEE MARY HAS BEEN MARRIED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW, ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH TO THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD ALMIGHTY, AND STILL GOING FORTH IN THE TASK GOD HAS CHOSEN FOR HER. I’M SURE SHE HAD BEEN SADDENED BY THE
FACT SHE HAD NEVER BEEN INTIMATE WITH HER NEW HUSBAND, AND THERE WAS PROBABLY A STRAIN UPON THIS MARRIAGE. BUT MARY WAS COMMITTED TO GOD, AND WHAT HE HAD CHOSEN FOR HER. NOW WE SEE SHE IS GOING TO TRAVEL, AT A TIME SHE WOULD
LIKE TO BE SETTLED AND SECURE, SHE HAS TO GO FROM NAZARETH TO BETHLEHEM BECAUSE JOSEPH WAS OF THE HOUSE OF DAVID HE HAD TO PAY HIS TAXES THERE.
THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO HOP ON A JET, AND GET THERE IN A HURRY, THAT WOULD EVEN BE STRAINED FOR A WOMAN READY TO DELIVER, BUT THEY TRAVELED BY
DONKEY AND WALKING ABOUT SIXTY MILES, THAT WAS A THREE DAYS JOURNEY, QUITE AN ORDEAL FOR MARY.THEN WHEN SHE GETS THERE SHE STARTED LABOUR, ALL THE INNS WERE FULL, SO SHE HAD TO GO TO A STABLE TO HAVE HER FIRSTBORN CHILD SHE MUST OF BEEN SO SAD AND DISCOURAGED, THINKING HERE I AM ABOUT TO GIVE

IN LUKE 2:7 SHE HAD HER BABY AND WRAPPED HIM IN SWADDLING CLOTHES, THESE WERE NOTHING MORE THAN BANDAGES AND WRAPPINGS, THEY USED THESE FOR WRAPPING DEAD BODIES AND GETTING THEM READY FOR BURIAL. HOW SAD FOR MARY, NOT ONLY WAS HER SON BORN IN A MANGER, (THIS WAS A FEEDING PLACE FOR CATTLE), NOW HE WAS WRAPPED IN SWADDLING CLOTHES. SHE HAD NO FANCY LAYETTE, NO PRETTY CRIB, OR CUTE BABY GOWN, OR PRETTY SOFT BLANKETS AS MOST OF US YOUNG MOTHERS HAD FOR OUR FIRSTBORN BABIES, AND THIS BABY WAS THE KING
OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS, ALMIGHTY GOD IN THE FLESH. HOW PITIFUL FOR THIS YOUNG MOTHER, BUT SHE NEVER COMPLAINED SHE ONLY OBEYED GOD IN EVERY WAY, YES MARY WAS A VERY COMMITTED AND FAITHFUL WOMAN, OBEDIENT TO GOD AND WHAT HE ASKED OF HER. THINK WE COULD BE SO OBEDIENT?

NOW IN MATTHEW 2:12-23 THEY ARE WARNED OF HEROD, HE WAS KILLING BOY BABIES, TO GET TO JESUS, SO THEY FLED TO EGYPT, AS GOD TOLD THEM TO DO, TO KEEP THE LORD JESUS SAFE FROM HEROD. THEN HEROD DIED, AND THEY YET AGAIN MOVED BACK TO NAZARETH. THAT THE SCRIPTURE BE FULFILLED, MARY WAS UPROOTED SO MANY TIMES FOR GODS WORK. WE NEVER SEE HER COMPLAIN ABOUT THE TASK AT HAND, OR THE LIFE GOD HAS CHOSEN FOR HER AND HER FAMILY.

LUKE 2:39-52 JESUS WAS 12 YEARS OLD NOW, MARY HAD WATCHED HIM GROW, KEPT HIM SAFE, FED HIM LIKE ANY OTHER MOTHER WOULD CARE FOR THEIR CHILD. WHEN HE WAS 12 YEARS OLD THEY WENT TO JERUSALEM FOR THE PASSOVER FEAST CUSTOM, AFTER
THE FEAST WAS OVER AND THEY WERE RETURNING HOME TO FIND JESUS MISSING,
THEY RETURNED FOR HIM. I IMAGINE MARY WAS FRANTIC WONDERING WHERE HE WAS, AND IF HE WAS ALRIGHT. BEING A MOTHER SHE WORRIED ABOUT HIM JUST AS WE DO IN MANY CIRCUMSTANCES WITH OUR CHILDREN. WHEN THEY FOUND HIM
THEY WERE NOT SURE WHAT HE WAS TELLING THEM, MARY WAS CONFUSED, VS 49-50 BUT KEPT ALL THIS WISDOM IN HER HEAD.

JESUS BEGINS HIS MINISTRY AND I’M SURE MARY WAS VERY MUCH INVOLVED.

PROBABLY STAYING IN THE BACKGROUND, LETTING GO LITTLE BY LITTLE LIKE MOTHERS HAVE TO DO. BY NOW SHE HAD OTHER CHILDREN TO CARE FOR MATT 13:55 TELLS US JESUS HAD AT LEAST FOUR BROTHERS, AND AT LEAST THREE SISTERS,
SO MARY HAD A VERY BUSY, AND FULL LIFE, THERE IS NO FURTHER MENTION OF JOSEPH DURING THE MINISTRY OF JESUS, SOME SAY MAYBE JOSEPH HAD DIED, LEAVING MARY A WIDOW WITH AT LEAST EIGHT CHILDREN TO CARE FOR. I’M SURE MARY WAS VERY TIRED AND BOGGED DOWN WITH THE EVERYDAY CARE OF THESE
CHILDREN, BUT SHE WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR THEM, SUPPORTING THEM AND ENCOURAGING THEM. I THINK SHE PROBABLY STILL DID NOT UNDERSTAND TO THE FULL EXTENT THE MINISTRY OF JESUS.

THE WEDDING IN CANA JOHN 2:1-3 MARY KNEW JESUS WAS THE SON OF GOD, SHE SEEN A DIFFERENCE IN HIM COMPARED TO HER OTHER CHILDREN, SHE ALSO HAD MUCH FAITH IN HIM, I’M SURE SHE WAS VERY PROUD OF HIM AND WANTED EVERYONE TO KNOW THIS MAN WAS HER SON, SHE SAID IN VS 3, JESUS THEY HAVE NO
WINE, HINTING COME ON NOW YOU CAN TURN THIS WATER INTO WINE FOR THEM.
BUT HIS REPLY WAS, “WOMAN WHAT HAVE I TO DO WITH THEE, MINE HOUR IS NOT YET COME”, I THINK HE WAS TELLING HER MOM, NOT YOUR WILL BUT THE FATHERS WILL HAS TO BE DONE, AND THIS IS NOT HIS TIME.. I’M SURE MARY WAS A BIT HURT TO BE REPRIMANDED BY HER SON IN FRONT OF EVERYONE, BUT
IN HER HEART SHE TOO KNEW IT HAD TO BE GODS WILL NOT HERS. MARY STILL CONFIDENT IN JESUS AND HIS POWER AND WISDOM TOLD THE SERVANTS TO DO WHATEVER JESUS TOLD THEM TO DO. VS 4&5.

LATER IN THE MINISTRY OF CHRIST, MARY AND HIS BROTHERS CAME TO TAKE JESUS HOME, MARK 3:20-32, SHE WAS ALWAYS BY HIS SIDE SHE NEVER TRIED TO DISCOURAGE HIM, OR MOCK HIM, FOR DOING WHAT SHE KNEW GOD HAD CALLED HIM TO DO, NO SHE ALWAYS WAS SUPPORTIVE OF HIM. SHE WAS THERE AT THE TIME
OF HIS DEATH SHOWING DEEP MOTHERLY LOVE AND ADORATION FOR HIM. HOW SHE MUST OF BEEN HURTING INSIDE, HER HEART BREAKING FOR HER FIRSTBORN SON.

JESUS LOVED HIS MOTHER DEARLY, AS WE SEE THROUGH OUT THE SCRIPTURES, AND AT THE CRUCIFIXION HE TOOK SPECIAL CARE TO TELL THE APOSTLE JOHN TO TAKE CARE OF HIS MOTHER. WHO WOULD OF EVER THOUGHT SUCH A SPECIAL CALLING AS HERS WOULD INCLUDE SUCH A TIME OF HEARTBREAKING AGONY.

NOW WE SEE MARY APPEARS LAST IN SCRIPTURE WITH THE DISCIPLES IN THE UPPER ROOM, AFTER THE ASCENSION OF JESUS ACTS 1:14.

BY JOINING THE APOSTLES IN PRAYER AS THEY WAITED FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT. MARY SHOWED HER BELIEF IN CHRIST, HIS RESURRECTION HAD PROVEN BEYOND A DOUBT WHAT HE HAD SAID WAS TRUE. MARYS ROLE WOULD AGAIN BE JOYOUS AS SHE, ALONG WITH THE FAST GROWING CHURCH, PROCLAIMED THE RESURRECTION OF HER SON. MARY SHOWS US THAT EVEN GODS MOST GLORIOUS TASKS COME WITH HARDSHIPS AND PAIN. NOW IN CLOSING WE SEE A GREAT GODLY, FAITHFUL, OBEDIENT, COMMITTED, TENTATIVE, SUPPORTIVE WOMAN. IS IT ANY WONDER GOD CHOSE THIS MARY WE HAVE SEEN TO CARRY HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON. WILL WE BE MARYS, WE WILL USE HER AS OUR EXAMPLES, AND TRY TO BE THE MOTHER GOD HAS CHOSEN US TO BE.

Marvelous Monday

Yes indeed it is a marvelous Monday, I feel so good, and it was such a great weekend.
We had a break from going for treatments, 2 days off, today is my dh 15th treatment, lots has happened, and God has blessed every step of the way.
Only 18 more, wow, daily, it gets rough at times, then I think of sweet Jesus, how he was beaten, and attacked, and then hung on a cross  to die, but praise God it was all in our heavenly Father's hands, just like we are. If we had not gone through this, we never of would met some of the dear people we have, or had the blessings of telling them of our Saviour. Glory, nothing greater than to share Jesus with others, and especially this time of year.  So continue to keep us in your prayers, my dh throat is rough and his neck on the outside is very red and tender, hard on him for sure.

We had 5 saved at church yesterday, and last night we went to Florida to a Cantata it was no doubt the best I ever attended, it had a play with it, and such meaning of the Christmas story from Matthew, just such a blessing, and after a sweet fellowship with some old friends we had not seen in a long time, it just was a fabulous day all around, and one that kept us out until almost 10 PM lol, very rare these days.

Saturday we did get our Christmas Cookies made, and decorated, they turned out really good. I used an old recipe I found in a little tin of small cookie cutters, and doubled the recipe, Chuck loves doing stuff like this, and making candy so he had fun creating some decor on them. I finished my laundry and all set for another week.

So that is my Marvelous Monday, how is yours going? Hope you are blessed in all ways, and have a great day. God bless each of you real good. Love you much too.

My husband has had 3 treatments and today makes 4 only 30 more to go, he is doing well so far, his throat is sore this morning though. I mixed up 1/2 cup water, 1/4 tsp of baking soda, and 1/8 tsp of salt he gargled and said it did feel better. We go at noon daily, maybe next week will be later. I like it later in the afternoons. Continue to pray for us as we take this new journey, it has become a wonderful Ministry too. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, my family came and we were so thankful for that, God sure has blessed us. I am sorry I am not posting as much as before, but my life is just too busy with other things, I am not on the computer as much. I still think of you often, and pray for you.

Amen, yes let us shine, shine, shine, I just pray that we will be a blessing to all those around us, God certainly blessed us so far, we prayed with several yesterday, and some just broke down and cried, it is wonderful to be a comfort in times like this. I think it is so needed for us to be useful and be a blessings, it takes our minds off our own problems, which besides some are so very minute. Thank you sweet ladies for all your prayers, and I know you continue, I love each of you dearly. Have a wonderfully blessed day.
The days are passing by, too fast too, all is well here in White Oak, God is so good, and he has poured his blessings out upon us indeed. We look around us and see so much suffering, and pain and it is so great to be able to pray with those less blessed than we are, to encourage them, and some just need to talk about their illness, I sure pray that God will continue to bless those we talk to, and some may accept him as their own personal Saviour. Have a great day, and be a blessing to those around you.Photobucket

Well Thanksgiving day is fast approaching, it will be here and gone soon, I have put the Turkey in the bottom of my fridge, it should be good and thawed by Thursday morning.
I am making lots of good food, the Turkey, dressing, mashed taters and gravy, Sweet Potato Souffle, Green bean casserole, the girls will bring the sides and drinks and rolls, and desserts; we will feast as like kings on that day, we will get our fill for sure, then I think how many go hungry and it will make me sad, we need to pray and help those who are less blessed than we are. Say a prayer right now and ask God how you can help some one in need. I surely thank God for his blessing upon my family and me.

I do pray that you all have a wonderful day, and that you lift your eyes to heaven and thank our heavenly Father for all the blessings from the whole year. It will be hard to remember them all but if we really ponder he will bring to our remembrance.
I cannot imagine having Thanksgiving without giving thanks to our lord and creator of all things, who make all things possible and gives us so abundantly.

So have a glorious day, and know that we love you and am praying for you.

Day 22 ~ It is a Beautiful day here in Georgia, very hard to believe it is the 22 of Nov, when our weather says it is Sept.
Sunny and just a nice fall day, warm temps keep us outside and I love it. My husband when out and picked some Mustard and Collard greens earlier, I may make some green for Thanksgiving also, though most of my family do not like greens one daughter in law loves them, I may make them special for her.

I came across this verse this morning in my reading and it really is my heart. ♥

1Co 1:4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

Thankful Thursday

To look outside you would never think it was the 17th of November,
it is another no sweater day, very warm, sun shining, just a glorious
day to be a Thankful Thursday, and I sure am thankful for the sun
and the warmth. My winter garden is just fantastic, we had rain in
the night, and everything is growing so good, and so quickly too, it
is green greens, and my strawberry plants are doing wonderful, I love having a garden, do you? It blesses my soul to see how our lord makes things grow, and provides the needs of his people. Yes on this day I certainly am thankful for all the lord does.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by
prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests
be made known unto God.
This is one of my favorite  verses, and I claim it often too. I
have been feeling puny for a couple of days now, I got the flu
shot Monday, and then started feeling sick to my stomach. I am
feeling a little better today, although still kinda queezy feeling.

Well all is going well, and we are looking forward to having our children here for Thanksgiving, it is a very special day and we
love it being a day our family can gather around and share what
we are thankful for. I have bought the Turkey and fixings, and
ready for our day to begin. I pray that you all have a very blessed
Thanksgiving, and give God the glory for all we have. Thank you
for all the great comments and prayers you are praying for my dh and I, it is so appreciated. God bless each of you, and be blessed,
you are indeed a blessing to me.

Been A While

So much has happened since I wrote last, been a very busy week for sure.
Chuck had the PET Scan Thursday, Praise God we seen the Oncologist
Friday, and he read the scan, there is not cancer any where else, it did not show
anything, so that is such a blessing, the doctor is pretty sure he got all of it
when he did the surgery, doing the radiation is to make positively sure.
While at the Oncologist Friday, he made the mask for the radiation treatments,
they even tattooed the place where it needs to be. He will start the radiation
treatments after Thanksgiving. Every day for 6 weeks, 33 treatments in all.

SO it will be a good chance for us to meet folks in need of the Saviour, and
witness to them, they sure need the hope Jesus can give, in the place there.
God give us both such a sweet peace, and we just look to him for our every
need, he will meet each need that arises, and we have no doubts about that.

My children came up today for the day, had a great time, I made Chile and rice
and tuna sandwiches, that was fun and we chatted and took some hikes in
the woods even. Good day, I am so thankful for the time spent with them.
They are all coming for Thanksgiving so will be a very busy time then, I love
to talk of  the blessings our lord gives, and how good he is to us.
Continue to pray for our journey with this thing called cancer, but God has his
hand upon my dh and I know he will care for him.

Thank you all that have been following my blog and bless each of abundantly.
Have a great day tomorrow with your brothers and sisters in Christ, and may we
all worship our lord in Spirit and Truth. God bless y'all real good. ♥

Praising God Any Way

I have bad news and good news, but with God all things are good. First the biopsy came back positive, that lump was cancer, but the doctor feels he did get it all, that is the good news. He is making arrangements for Chuck to have a PET scan, and start Radiation treatments, he feels he got it early, and this should make sure no other cancer is in his body.
WHEW it really threw me for a loop, I had such peace, I just knew it was going to be negative, the doctor said he also thought it would be negative, just the way it appeared, you never know what is going on in your body, but our heavenly Father knows, and He is already taking care of him. Thank you for continued prayer and knowing you will be faithful to pray for him.

Ps 18:2  "The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower".

Praise God for his day, when we as a body of believers can come together and worship the lord.
I am thankful today that I have a wonderful church to attend, that still preaches the gospel from
the KJV of the bible, sing old time hymns and have Holy Spirit convictions. Thank you lord for
your leading us to such a place to work, worship and serve you.

Ps 100:4  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Wonderful Wednesday

Well today is the second day of November, a month in which we turn our eyes upon Jesus, and give thanks for all he has done throughout the year, I love this time of year, not just the turning of the leaves, or the cool temperatures but the fact that many are remembering how much God has did for them. May we never forget
and never cease to give him all the glory and praise for
what he has did for us. I love that there are so very many scriptures that sing praises to our lord. Isaiah 42:8 "I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images". Our Lord is a jealous God, and will not  share his glory with any one, if we try and take any glory from him we shall see the anger of the lord. Let us sing his praises

all this month and see how many various verses we can find that sing his praise, and gives thanks to the lord.

As we all stay busy, I know we do get around to the computer as much as before, I am sorry, I do not post very much, I have just finished up several more salvation bracelets I will let the girls give them to the Missionaries tonight, Sunday will be a full day, and with much going on here for preparation for Thanksgiving and having a house full, seems not much time left, and the older I get the slower I become too, giggles, I did get my laundry finished yesterday, we went down to the Island and it was way too cold to even spend any time there, so NO fish.
I have made up song books for our Junior church, card stock on front and back with a huge logo of singing kids on front, we have about 15 songs and going to teach them each one, I remember the kids songs I learned as a child, one stick with me especially because I used to sing it to my daddy, and point my finger at him, when it came to are you ready when Jesus comes. He was not at the time, and I knew it.
"Two shall be together grinding at the mill, two shall be together sleeping peace be still, one shall be taken the other left behind, will you be ready when Jesus comes". it is biblical too, I found it one day in my reading and got very excited to see it in the Bible. I hope you have a wonderful month of November and

your home is filled with lots of good smelling food, spices, and a family that loves and appreciates all you do for them. God bless you my blogging friends.

Behold the Beauty of His Creation

1 Chronicles 16:29 " Give unto the LORD the glory due unto
his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the
LORD in beauty of holiness".

Psalms 27:4 "One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I
seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the
days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to
enquire in his temple".

No matter how hard man tries to paint a scene as these above,
there is no way to capture all the beauty that God has given
us to behold. He told us to enjoy and care for this earth he
made especially for man. None can compare as to what God
has created.
Isaiah 64:4 "For since the beginning of the world men have
not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath eye seen,
O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that
waiteth for him".

Praising God in All Thing

Ps 95:7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
Ps 123:2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

There is always such comfort in the Psalms, I love them, and claim so many of them, God is so good, he touched my dear husband the surgery only took about 30 minutes, the lesion in his throat was pretty small, and he did a clean cut away, he sent it off to pathology and we will get the results back in 9 days, but I have a peace about it, and I know it will not be malignant.
I  really believe he got it all, and that it was not cancer, I just feel this. I have a complete peace, and our pastor and his wife spent the whole time with us, it meant so very much, he is a wonderful pastor and friend. Thank you all for the prayers, It really makes a difference I surely believe.

Today Is The Day

My husband is having his throat biopsy today, and we are claiming these verses, God knows
all about what is going on in his throat, so he will guide the Surgeons hand in the surgery.
We have trusted him for all things for over 40 years, just would not know how not to trust
him for this, so if you will pray with me, and ask God's hand of grace on my dear husband.
I am must appreciative for you all that pray, God bless you.

Psalms 118:24 " This is the day which the lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
Romans 8:28 " And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God

A dazzling aurora light show amazed skywatchers across North America, from Canada to Arkansas, and other northern regions Monday night (Oct. 24), painting the sky with striking green and even rare red hues.
The aurora display, also known as the northern lights, was touched off by a wave charged particles unleashed by a massive sun storm on Saturday, which took two days to reach Earth.

Truly the heavens are telling us about our awesome and magnificent God. He is absolutely dependable in keeping the universe in perfect order. The meteorologists can tell exactly what minute the sun will rise and set each day. God is always on schedule-never a moment to early or a moment to late.
When our lives seem chaotic, we must remember they are right on schedule by God's clock. "For he performeth the thing that is appointed to me" (Job 23:14).
I hope you enjoyed this, I remember as a  child think WOW lookie what God has done, the faith of a
child is open and pure, seeing things the way God intended for us all to see his work, be blessed my
friend, and may we all give God the glory he deserves.

Hamburger Green Bean Casserole

1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/3 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup onion, chopped
1 egg
1 pound ground beef
salt and pepper
1 16 ounce can green beans

Mix 1/4 cup of the mushroom soup with the rest of the ingredients. Line a small casserole with this mixture like a pie shell. Mix remaining soup with green beans and fill center of casserole. Top with bread crumbs. Bake at 350F for 35 to 40 minutes. Serves 4 to 6.

Hope your day is filled with lots of good tips, recipes, and especially
lots of love. Inspiring others towards happiness brings you happiness.
It is very plain and simple. The more you help others find their joy today,
the more you’re insured to experience a life worth living.

We have another Biopsy date set, it will be Friday Oct 28th, lord willing,
keep my dear husband in prayer, and pray that God will give me some
peace and contentment for that day also.  Enjoy your recipe, and with
Thanksgiving right around the corner I am going to start posting more
good recipes, have a delightful day, and lots of blessings.

Marvellous Monday

It was a good day all day yesterday, I am tired today, and on my lap top this morning, the key board is different than my pc and I type different even. I hooked up my wireless mouse so it does seem easier to me. I still like my other pc better, but it is running slow, gets me aggravated so using this to stay calm, lol.  Well I have down loaded the Google Chrome and it is really running good now, fast as I need. Yeah
my baby girl told me about it and I took her advice, I had it once before and did not
like it, but now my computer is sailing, will go back to using it again.

We did not see anyone saved, but lots of seeds planted in all the services, they do hear the word. Many have been saved from the time we started the bus ministry, and now
my dh does the Jr church, and we give an invitation after each service too. So keep
praying that all the dear children we bring in will be saved, they hear the word, and I
know that we need to reach the parents to really make a big impact in their lives, they
hear the wonderful truth of Jesus on Sunday, and Wednesday and the rest of the
week I am sure it must be terrible for so many of them. I know that loving them, and
telling them of the wonders of Christ will make a big difference in years to come.

Hope you have a good day, I am resting, and will do very little, doncha love them days.

For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name,

because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
Mark 9:41
Working with children and loving them and giving them treats and such certainly brings its rewards, both here and in heaven. All who work with them, be blessed for you are very special, and you are so very loved by our heavenly Father. I hope you have a marvellous Monday, and new week to come. Lots of hugs

Claiming Romans 8:28

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Well at five pm last evening the surgery was cancelled; it seem Chuck's primary did not okay the surgery, he seen that his heart rate was slow, (it always has been slow, he what is called an altheletes heart a hard steady slow beat) if he had bother to check his records he would of seen this. Not sure why this is happening but God knows, and
as always God is in control.

Chuck has always had this, nothing new, well he is very upset with this doctor and his ways, he has an appointment for the 18th to see him, and after he gets the approved signed he will tell him he is looking for another doctor, unless of course he found something else wrong in the EKG. So for now it is put on hold until all things get worked out, and so once again we claim Romans 8:28, sure claim it much since we have gotten older, and slower heehee, but it still hold true, ALL things.

So my beloved friends, I hope you have a wonderful weekend, that God blesses
your socks off, and then gives you a new pair, amen, and amen, Yes God is good

Tuesday X's Two

Yep the second Tuesday of the month of October, wow time is flying by, seems like yesterday was Spring, now Spring has passed, Summer has passed, and Fall is here, soon Winter will be here, are you ready for all this change? I am not able to catch up for some reason, and now winter will be here soon, and it reminds me of how fast life does pass by. Just as the seasons come and go years pass just as quickly, one of the first verses I remembered was James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. I did not understand it much back then, (I was in my youth) now I see exactly what it was saying, and it has passed too quickly, thank God I was saved, or I may of missed that opportunity to be in the Rapture when it comes.

I see so many of the scriptures in reality now, I suppose I am in the Winter of my life, not sure what age group that entails, but I know I am not a Spring Chicken, that is a fact, lol. So as I see this month slip away I see it as one day closer as to be with my Jesus, the time is fast approaching, and I am glad I know where I will spend eternity.

You have a blessed Tuesday, and not sure why I thought of this, just old age setting in and seeing day by day in a different light.

Sharing It Saturday

It is a cool drizzling day here in Southern Georgia, we are having what is know
as North Easters, it rains and the Ocean is churning and it is a very windy and
cool time here in Florida and Southern Ga. Our weather is much like Northern
Florida, in fact we get our local news from Jacksonville, FL we do not have a
news channel for this area.

It has been a busy week, my husband went Thursday for all his pre-testing for
the surgery he will have October 14th, he has a lesion in his throat and they will
remove it and do a biopsy on it. It is rather common among preachers, and he
has been preaching for over 35 years now, the vocal cords get strained many
times through the times of preaching, the hardest part will be keeping him down
for 3 days, and not talking, I need to get him one of those white boards to write
on for this time. Please keep him in prayer this week, and me too, I am not feeling
great either, my back and stomach is bothering me, seems every fall I suffer with
the stomach, and the wet weather is making my RA act up and I am hurting.

It has been a long week, one night we did go shrimping down at the docks, we caught
a lot of shrimp and wanting to catch even more before the season ends. We freeze
them and use them for fishing all year round. Salt water fish love shrimp, so we
can catch a mess of fish with a few shrimp. My husband likes to eat them too, I am
not much on sea food, only certain types of fish I even eat, and the Snow crabs or Dungeness crabs, now I can put them away.

I have this scrumptious recipe and it is so good so going to share with all my friends
here, hope you try it, and all your family will love it too, I will be making it for
Thanksgiving too, my family will love it, I know they love anything chocolate. So
here is  the recipe.

Chocolate Turtle Cake

1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® devil's food cake mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
1 bag (14 oz) caramels
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 cup chopped pecans
1 bag (6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
Ice cream or Whipped cream, if desired
Caramel and chocolate toppings,
Chopped pecans, if desired

Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan).

Grease or spray bottom of 13x9-inch pan.

Make cake batter as directed on box. Pour half of the batter into pan.

Bake 22 minutes. Refrigerate remaining batter.

Meanwhile, in 1-quart saucepan, heat caramels and evaporated milk over medium heat, stirring frequently, until caramels are melted. Stir in pecans. Pour caramel mixture over warm cake in pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Spread with remaining batter. Bake 25 to 28 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Run knife around sides of pan to loosen cake. Cool at least 30 minutes. Serve with ice cream, drizzle with toppings and sprinkle with pecans. Store loosely covered.
This recipe was great - very rich!! I probably added a bit more than 1/2 a bag of chocolate chips, you can't ever have too much chocolate, right? ha. I also would have sprayed the sides of the pan after baking the bottom half and before adding the caramel. The caramel/pecan mixture really stuck to my cake pan and it was kind of hard to get the cake out. I even loosened the sides right after baking as recommended, but it still stuck a bit.

Butter Baked Pumpkin Seeds

2 c. pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
1 tsp. salt

Spread seeds on a cookie sheet and let dry overnight. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Combine butter and salt and toss with seeds. Bake for 50 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes until seeds are lightly browned.  Sounds really good, my youngest daughter
loves these pumpkin seeds.

•Drinking From the Well of Living Water•

The Bible mentions water over and over again, Sometimes, water is simply water.
Quite often, though, Scriptures uses water as a picture of the Holy Spirit. Consider
John 7:37-38, this records Christ's own words: "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." This thirst Jesus mentions here is so much more than physical thirst. It's the longing for relief from all the hurt sin has brought into our world. It's the longing for a personal conflict to finally end. It's the soul's cry for justice or an aching body's plea for a peaceful night's rest. Most of , it's the guilt-ridden heart wondering if Gof will really forgive- again. That's real thirst.

Are you really thristing for those rivers of living water? Do you truly believe that Jesus can fill your soul and restore your hope with peace, healing and giving strength for each day. HE CAN, and HE WILL just trust in him.

Fabulous Fall Friday

Wow another week is rolling by, they are going just to fast for me to keep up with. I am so thankful for all the wonderful blessings in my life, and most of all the salvation God has given so freely, how much he love you and me, what unconditional love he has for us, all the time, not just at times when he feels like it but all the time, any time we can go to him, and get a full cup of strength, or love, or any thing we are in need of. I hope you have a great day. Pray for a lady at our church, she is a dear woman, she had cancer a year ago, and now she has another mass in her lung. Thank you all for being great prayer warriors and so willing to pray for others. God bless you and have a great Thrusday. Philippians 4:6 "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God".

Sweet Potato Puff

2 cups mashed sweet potato
2 tablespoons butter
salt and pepper
1/4 cup milk or cream
1 egg

To the mashed potatoes add the melted butter, seasonings and milk.
Beat the egg yolk and white separately, add the yolk to the potato
mixture and then fold in the white. Bake in one dish or in individual
molds until puffy and brown.

A Few Salt Tips

A pinch of salt improves the flavor of cocoa
.

To remove grease stains in clothing, mix one part salt to four parts alcohol.

Salt and lemon juice removes mildew.

Sprinkle salt between sidewalk bricks where you don't want grass growing.

Polish your old kerosene lamp with salt for a brighter look. Remove odors from sink drainpipes with a strong, hot solution of salt water.

If a pie bubbles over in your oven, put a handful of salt on top of the spilled juice. The mess won't smell and will bake into a dry, light crust which will wipe off easily when the oven has cooled.

Have a fabulous Friday, and have a blessed weekend.

Wonderful Wednesday

It has been a while since I posted, and I have been meaning almost
daily to come in and update, I am feeling better, and my dh
neck is able to function again, it was a long week of illness for us
both, and I am happy it is over. Now I ask for prayer for my
husband again. He seen the doctor yesterday, and he has a legion
on his throat, he will go in for a biopsy on the 14th of Oct, so if
you would please keep him in prayer, and that it will be just torn
muscle from preaching all these years, but always praying God's
magnificent will be done also. Thank you a head of time.

Well besides that we are doing well, and staying very busy doing
the work that God has called us to. I had bought some beef ribs
last shopping trip, and wanted to make short ribs and rice like my
mom used to make, well I did not have a clue, so asked my sister
she had never made them either, and I tried to find a recipe, well
I could not find a recipe that seemed like I wanted either, so I just
went ahead and made them the way I thought they should be, well
they were out of this world, and my husband just loved them, I will
be making them again soon, so here is what I did, and the recipe
to make them yourself.

1 pound of Beef Short Ribs
2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 medium Onion
4 Beef bullion Cubes
5 cups of water
and 1 cup of rice

Now I put about two tablespoons of Canola oil in  pot
and browned and seared the beef on all sides, salted to
taste, then I  added the onion, and let it tender, when it
was ready Iadded the 5 cups of water, then when boiling
I added bullion cubes. It simmered for about 2 hours, I took
out the meat, poured off the water,(saving) and then added back
two cups of the broth and the 1 cup of rice, added
the beef back to mixture, and let it cook down til the rice
was done. WAHLAH it was scrumptious, best meal
ever, I had french bread with it, and some slaw, my dh
just raved about it. SO I have a new dish to serve often.
I hope try it, and make it for your family, they will love
it I am sure.
I have enough broth to make some noodles too. Sorry
I did not take any photos of them.
Hope you all have a wonderful week, and I hope to be
on the computer more now. God bless you real good.

Have a Wonderful Day, Barbara

Friday Prayer

Luke 9:11 "And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing".

Pray for my dear husband, he has a stiff neck, I am not sure if it is a cold or
something else, he can hardly move his head, and to look from side to side is impossible, I have some stomach issues too so pray for us both please, and
I am claiming this verse for both of us, if any one can heal it is my Jesus.

In many things we do we leave Jesus out of, I am always sorry for that, I try
to keep him first in my life, and hope you do too, being human means we do
fall, and err often, but my precious Saviour is always there to pick me up,
dust me off, and let me start a fresh. God bless you this day, pick who you
serve, God or Satan..

Have a blessed day and thank you ahead of time for your prayers.

 Much Love, and Prayers, Barbara

I Am Truly Sorry

It has been a very busy time for me lately, and I have not been on
the computer as I once was, but I have been busy for the lord, and
always he will come first, I pray you understand, and that you
will pray with me that we can do all God has put in our path to do.

We did get to go fishing last Monday, did not catch a thing, and
my husbands motor kept conking out, so we used the trolling
motor to get where we wanted to be in a sloop, but they fish were
not biting then either, so we did not stay a real long time, but quite
honestly it seemed like forever for me, if I am not getting bites, I do
not like to just sit and wait for them to bite, so I was ready to leave
when my husband decided we were not going to catch anything. LOL

It has been a time since I talked about our church and the ministry
there, the bus ministry is doing well, lots of new kids, and many getting
saved and baptized, and that is what it is all about, and seeing them
parents coming to see them baptized is a thrill. I teach the teens, and for
the past couple weeks our Junior girls teacher has been ill, so I have
had them all, this week I do believe it will be back to normal though. We
started a Junior church last Sunday also. It went very well, and run it
just as the regular church, take up and offering, and sing some songs, then
my dh preaches to them, on their level, it was good, and I enjoyed being
with them also. So you see we are busy, have lots of preparations to to
and studying also, love it though.

It has cooled off here (finally) feels so much better, it was a tad chilly infact
when I let my little dog out this morning too, so fall is coming, and I am
loving it. So how is the weather where you are, so many differents areas are
on the blogs that it can be freezing somewhere, while in the 90's elsewhere.
Makes it very interesting though.

Well I must leave for now, hope you all have a marvellous weekend, and that
souls will be saved tomorrow at your churches. God bless you real good, and
keep us in your prayers please.

All Because Of Him, Barbara

The Color Purple

Purple is royalty. A mysterious color, purple is associated with both nobility and spirituality.

The opposites of hot red and cool blue combine to create this intriguing color.
Purple has a special, almost sacred place in nature: lavender, orchid, lilac, and violet flowers are often delicate and considered precious. Because purple is derived from the mixing of a strong warm and strong cool color it has both warm and cool properties.
A purple room can boost a child's imagination or an artist's creativity. Too much purple, like blue, could result in moodiness.
The color of mourning for widows in Thailand, purple was the favorite color of Egypt's Cleopatra.
It has been traditionally associated with royalty in many cultures. Purple robes were worn by royalty and people of authority or high rank. The Purple Heartis a U.S. Military decoration given to soldiers wounded in battle.
No wonder my favorite color is purple, it brings out the royality in me, lol have a wonderful Friday.

We had a wonderful Sonday...WOW lots of children, and we had our first Jr. Church, the boys and girls were really good, and seemed to take away much with them, Praise God to be able to serve the lord, what joy it brings. We had 3 baptized last night too, a whole family of one little girl came, amen...
One that we knew prior, and had been praying for a very long time, like about 13 years, it was so great to see them come in, made my heart just praise God out loud, lol, I can be vocal at times, even though I try to keep it toned down, heehee, I just love the lord and would bust if I did not say praise God, or amen some times. Hope your day was as great as ours, God bless each of you my friends this day.
