It has been wonderful here, finally cool, really good fishing weather, we went and caught about 25 small ones. It was a good day, had lots of fun me and my hubby.
So many are going through illness, and pain, and they seem to be slipping away from God, instead of drawing near to him. Here are some thoughts today to help if you are going through hard times, or if your faith is fading.
When God saved us, he saved our soul, the soul is what will go to heaven when you die. The flesh never gets saved, it is the same old flesh we had before salvation, unruly, and being made to be put under control. What ever we feed the most will be most dominate, if we are not praying, reading our bible, being a witness, we become weak in the Spirit, you see that is the only way the soul becomes strong and can fight the Devil; praying is us talking to God, reading the Bible is God talking to us, witnessing is us speaking for God. It seems when we are only feeding the flesh, that is when Satan can have a hay day with us, the only way to live an undefeated life is to make Jesus lord over all, he has the power to come against Satan, we are weak in the flesh but strong through Jesus Christ. He is the only way, John 3:16 all of John 3 is a great chapter to refer to, to ponder upon and claim the victory over the Devil. All this is said in much love and concern for those who are having a hard time keeping their eyes on Christ.
I am sharing this with you, Psalm 51 it is my go to chapter, some times we get busy with life and doing for others, and get a way from God, Like David I have to run back to him, and I have read this chapter so many times the pages in my bible are thin, it has helped me greatly time after time, just crying out unto the lord pleading with him to forgive me, to restore the joy of his salvation. Do you remember the joy you had when you first accepted Jesus as your Saviour? Get back there and plead with the lord, try this , read, reread then claim and make it your special chapter. Trust me I have used it, and it brings you close to the lord.
Psalm 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
2Co 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
