Thankful Thursday
Tell me what are you thankful for today?
I mean really truly thankful, that something has been accomplished in your life that you know only God could of done.
I love the time to talk about being thankful, we all have a list long as my arm.
Some times we complain and grumble but all in all I am so thankful for every day he gives me. His provision daily for my needs, so many are out of work, and going without, and we never know from day to day what this day shall bring, but we do know who controls the day, who gives us another day, and who will meet our need for that day.
I am so thankful that I know a God who is so compassionate with his children, who is long suffering with us, and who loves us so much.
My husband preached last night on go out QUICKLY into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, that his house may be filled. It was a uplifting and very stirring message. We went on visitation Tuesday and talked to about 30 people, who most say they are going to heaven, and are sure, they have accepted Christ as Saviour, but, do not go to church any where, that just does not make sense to me. So of course we invited them to come to church and to be blessed of God.
We tell so many folks and yet they never darken the doors of any church. Sad, and I am thankful that we do have a willing heart to love the lord, to serve the lord, and especially to tell others about him, and to attend ever service with joy and excitement. I love going to church, and I know that is not of the flesh, the old flesh would rather stay home, so it is the lord in me making me happy and excited about being with my brothers and sisters in Christ.
I hope your day will be filled with lots of blessings, and know each of you are a blessing to me, God bless you, and be a blessing. ♥

Rejoicing In the Lord
(1 Thess 5:16-22 )
16 Rejoice evermore.
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
19 Quench not the Spirit.
20 Despise not prophesyings.
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Hum what is God saying here in these few verses?
A. Rejoice evermore.
Rejoice ever more, now I am thinking of all the people in the world, Christians should be able to rejoice in all things, God is always in control of our lives and what goes on with us, so as he said Rejoice Evermore!! We should never fear what will happen to us we have too many promises from our Heavenly Father to ever doubt or not to feel like rejoicing in the lord.
B. Pray without Ceasing.
I read that verse as a new born Christian and thought to my self, wow how can you always be praying, does not God realize I am a wife and mother of 5 children; when there is so much to do, how can I pray, then as I grew in the lord I understood what he was saying here. Always be in a prayerful attitude, always be ready to call upon the lord in an instant when you need him, and if we stay in close contact with our heavenly father we always have complete access to the throne room, sweet eh.
C. In Everything Give Thanks.
Your proof that you are a matured Christian is when you can thank the lord in times of tragedy, or turmoil and know he is at hand to help you. Not to just thank him in the good times but in the really tough times too. I used to sing a song called God of the Mountain, and in it said, the God of the mountain is the God of the valley, and never a truer statement was made, he is always God, He is always wanting our thankfulness, by thanking him we acknowledge that he is God and that all things he gives is good and for our own good, and for a way of growing us.
D. Quench not the Spirit.
Now how can I quench the Spirit of God, does not he have complete control over me, well this is where our free will enters in. We can quench the Spirit easily, we can be blinded, by Satan, he can fill our minds with all sort of garbage, and this will quench the Spirit of God in moving. Your own mind thinking ungodly things is your worse enemy. You sit in a good church service, and really feel the Spirit moving, praising God and some coming to the altar, and all of a sudden you are wondering what I am gonna fix for dinner, well honey that just broke the Spirit moving for you. Some think it takes lots of worldly sins to to quench the Spirit, not, God said anything that is not of Faith is sin. that tells it all.
E. Despise not prophesyings.
The reference here seems to be to preaching. that when our pastors are preaching, let us listen carefully and with full attention, addressing mankind on the great duties of religion, and of publishing salvation, is to be God’s great ordinance for converting the world. There is nothing else that has so much power over mankind as the preaching of the gospel: there is no other institution of heaven or earth, among men, that is destined to exert so wide and permanent an influence as the Christian ministry.
F. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
Never be quick to believe any man, no matter how good a preacher he may be, he is still human, we need to prove the things of God's word, put them into action, prove that they are from above and are godly. Examine by the words of Christ, and by the doctrines which, from time to time, have been delivered unto you in preaching and writings. Try the spirits, the different teachers, by the word of God.
Hold fast that which is good. Whatever in these prophesyings has a tendency to increase your faith, love, holiness, and usefulness, that receive and hold fast. There were prophets or teachers even at the time of Christ who professed to be of God, and yet were not.
G. Abstain from all appearance of evil.
This is just as it sounds, abstain from all appearance of evil, the human mind is a devious function, my husband always says he would not turn around in a bar parking lot, even though it may be innocent, and he would never take a drink, about the time he pulls out brother so and so from the neighborhood sees him, and what is he to think, well of course he thinks the worse, that he had been in the bar drinking. If we dress in skimpy clothing the ones who do not know us, think we may be very slinkly and worldly, so let us always dress, act, go and speak as God would be happy with, simply obey his word, and us his guide lines for your life, you cannot go wrong with a teacher like the Holy Spirit.
Well I have enjoyed doing this little study, hope you have enjoyed it too, God bless you as you serve him where you live, and do what he calls you to do.
Be a blessing to some one today, Barbara

"I'm The Lamb That The Shepherd Left The Flock For"
As a lamb that leaves the flock without a care
it wasn't long till I'd gone too far and I stumbles
And the more I'd try the more I'd loose my way
CHORUS
I'm the lamb that the Shepherd left the flock for
I was out in the cold all alone
So indeed when Jesus found me
He put his arms around me
And I'll never be alone anymore
VERSE 2
I have tried to climb the mountains of this life and failed
Thinking only of my self and my own gain
But the Shepherd came and found me on the cliffs of sin
And from that moment my life has never been the same
REPEAT CHORUS
I'm the lamb that the Shepherd left the flock for
I was out in the cold all alone
So indeed when Jesus found me
He put his arms around me
And I'll never be alone anymore
VERSE 3
Now I'm back where I belong and I'm so happy
I can hear the Shepherd's voice all the time
And I'll follow in the path where He may lead me
For this Shepherd, Jesus, is a friend of mine
REPEAT CHORUS
I'm the lamb that the Shepherd left the flock for
I was out in the cold all alone
So indeed when Jesus found me
He put his arms around me
And I'll never be alone anymore
I love this song, and it has so much truth in it, I hope you have a very blessed Sunday, and that you go and worship the lord with heart and soul. Bless you my friends.

Fantastic Friday
This is the cutest little fellow, had to snap that one. We had a wonderful day with friends. My husband and her husband went fishing the other day, and caught a mess of fish. They invited us over their to have a fish fry. It was scrumptious, she is a wonderful hostess. We planned a new game for us, and just had the best time.
The fires over the Okefenokee Swamp is effecting our area today, the sky is yellow and look at the sun in the photos below, just so breath taking, My husband snapped all these and thought you may like to see a smoke ridden area. There is so much going on all over the Country, fires, floods and just unreal weather in parts. May God bring America back to him, and may we all look to him for his help in these hard times.
Have wonderful evening, and sorry these are coming so late, but had a wonderful busy day. God bless you real good, and do be a blessing. ♥

Wednesday Wonderful Word
A real friend is one who will show you how to turn things over to God...and leave them there. A real friend is one who will pray with you when you heart aches. A real friend
shows you the path to happiness in God.
Proverbs 18:24 " A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."
Do you have a real friend? One who is really the biblical version? Count yourself blessed if you do. I know I have some Godly friends, that encourage me, and let me know that God has everything under control. I love the statement "Give some one a smile, They may not have one of their own" that is so deep...Stop and think of the concept of that statement, you see some one stepping on their lip, could be they lost a loved one, or found out they had cancer, or their husband was mean to them, or kids unruly, could be most anything, may we give them a smile freely, and befriend them, let them feel they are not all alone. We have a great friend in Jesus, and we can cast all our cares upon him, for we know he cares for us, so let us extend that same friendship to all those around us. God bless you today my dear friends, I hope God will lead you to some one who needs your faith, your smile and your hug.
We had a glorious time yesterday. The Spiritual food was so satisfying and so was the physical food, lots of preaching and singing, such a good time of fellowship with God's elect. It blessed my heart to be part of such a Godly day, my cup sure got filled, and running over, It was a long day, but well worth the drive.
Ludowici, GA is about 1 1/2 hours from here, it began at 2 pm, 3 preachers preached and we had some singing from the congregation, then at 4:45 we had a break and a snack and drink, then back and another preacher preached, then supper at 5:45; we ate and fellow shipped with lots of other Pastors from all around Georgia. 7 pm the evening service started, special singing, a pastor and his family sang, and then a couple from the hosting church sang, it was a super blessing. Then we had more preaching, a Evangelist, Joe Barker, I had never heard of him, but he give a glorious and uplifting message.
At 9 pm we left for home. I was glad to see my street sign and hit that dirt road, I know I would be home soon. We slept in this morning until 8 good nites rest I had.
Today is pay day, so not sure if we will go shopping today or wait until tomorrow, I have a doctors app tomorrow so may wait. Tonight is Church and I am waiting for that time, I love being in the house of the lord, with his people, nothing better, I could stay daily there, heehee. Well what are your plans for today.
Have you heard of the fires in the Swamp? It has burned over 92,000 acres, and getting close to some homes in Baker CO FL. The woods were burning up in Ludowici too the air filled with smoke, we need rain, and we need it today, the fires are so out of control. Pray for this area and all the areas that have problems, flooding in Miss and just all over such tragedy.
♥Hope you have a great day, give some one a smile, they may not have one...♥

Making Every Day Count
Psalm 90:12 "To teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom."
This has such a magnitude of wisdom in these few words, I wonder what God meant when he said number our days. Moses was speaking here, and I believe he was telling us to make preparations for the times to come, not to live just for today, and for things of this life, but to bank up treasures in heaven, where our rewards will be. That we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Hummmm you know many have much knowledge, but few have true wisdom, I really think wisdom comes from God, and is given to use for his glory and to bring others into his kingdom.
So many times God sees us making plans that do not include him, going from day to day without ever making mention of our lord, we say we love the lord, but, do we always put him first, if your like me you have to answer truthfully, no, we get busy with daily routines, and things of this world, and we put God on the back burner until we need him, instead of putting him first and front, he needs to be first in all we do.
May we live in his world, looking to him for all our needs, our answers, our daily lives.
We must put God first to be blessed of him.
We had a wonderful day yesterday at our church, we had one soul saved, and two folks join in membership, it was a blessed time in God. My cup runneth over indeed.
I had a wonderful dinner with my daughter, and got many phone calls and cards and gifts, but this is all so temporal, it is great to get these things, but I must remember who give me these children, who leads these children to love their mom the way they do. All the glory and credit must go to our heavenly father, if not for him, I would be barren, I would not have a child to love, and to care for, that would grow up and be married and be a great adult loving God. Yes let us number our days, for they are few, I was young just yesterday, now today I am old, may God give me wisdom for my old age, and fill my heart each day with more love for him, for my brethren and for my children, my grand children and great grand children. I am a blessed woman, and I owe it all to Christ, he makes the difference in my life.
When I am walking close by his side, and looking to him I am a different person, than when I am one step away from him, I will get angry easy, I do not show love as I should, and quite honestly, I am miserable, I need to be close to the lord, I need for him to guide my every foot step, and to fill my heart with his love and grace. Yep you need that too.
Have a marvellous Monday, it was a great weekend, but the week continues now, let us get busy for our Saviour who give so much for us, may we do a little for him. God bless my friends, and know God is the best friend you will ever have. ♥

Blowing Kisses your way my friends, I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day, and your day is as special as you are.
God give children Mothers to love them, care for them when no one else would, thank your mom today for all she has did for you, let her know you love her. God give you the mom you have so thank him also.
Proverbs 31:27-28
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Here is a Poem I thought was special, so sharing it with you. I am going to church and then dinner with my middle daughter, I know it will be a fun and precious day.

Word Filled Wednesday
Your Know Focusing on the character of God, helps us to take our eyes off our circumstances. Read Job 2:10
But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.
I ask you do you always praise God when bad things happen? Not to answer just think about it, we praise God to the fullest when something good happens to us, how many of us truly with an honest heart can say we do praise God for the bad things in our life. That is what Job is trying to tell his wife here.
You know for years I actually thought that the book of Job was all about Job, and how he came through various troubles in his life, and that is sorta true, but, what I see now in Job is the magnificent works of God, how much higher his ways are than our ways, and how much more power he has in all things, so many time we go through trials and problems to learn of God's almighty power, and how HE can help us out of any situation we may get our self into.
I just wish I could let go of all reasoning and any power I may have to do things, and let God take control of ALL things in my life, he does such a better job than we can. How about you, think you could give God a little more freedom to move in your life?
Have a Blessed day, ♥
