Sharing It Saturday

It is a cool drizzling day here in Southern Georgia, we are having what is know
as North Easters, it rains and the Ocean is churning and it is a very windy and
cool time here in Florida and Southern Ga. Our weather is much like Northern
Florida, in fact we get our local news from Jacksonville, FL we do not have a
news channel for this area.

It has been a busy week, my husband went Thursday for all his pre-testing for
the surgery he will have October 14th, he has a lesion in his throat and they will
remove it and do a biopsy on it. It is rather common among preachers, and he
has been preaching for over 35 years now, the vocal cords get strained many
times through the times of preaching, the hardest part will be keeping him down
for 3 days, and not talking, I need to get him one of those white boards to write
on for this time. Please keep him in prayer this week, and me too, I am not feeling
great either, my back and stomach is bothering me, seems every fall I suffer with
the stomach, and the wet weather is making my RA act up and I am hurting.

It has been a long week, one night we did go shrimping down at the docks, we caught
a lot of shrimp and wanting to catch even more before the season ends. We freeze
them and use them for fishing all year round. Salt water fish love shrimp, so we
can catch a mess of fish with a few shrimp. My husband likes to eat them too, I am
not much on sea food, only certain types of fish I even eat, and the Snow crabs or Dungeness crabs, now I can put them away.

I have this scrumptious recipe and it is so good so going to share with all my friends
here, hope you try it, and all your family will love it too, I will be making it for
Thanksgiving too, my family will love it, I know they love anything chocolate. So
here is  the recipe.

Chocolate Turtle Cake

1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® devil's food cake mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
1 bag (14 oz) caramels
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 cup chopped pecans
1 bag (6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
Ice cream or Whipped cream, if desired
Caramel and chocolate toppings,
Chopped pecans, if desired

Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan).

Grease or spray bottom of 13x9-inch pan.

Make cake batter as directed on box. Pour half of the batter into pan.

Bake 22 minutes. Refrigerate remaining batter.

Meanwhile, in 1-quart saucepan, heat caramels and evaporated milk over medium heat, stirring frequently, until caramels are melted. Stir in pecans. Pour caramel mixture over warm cake in pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Spread with remaining batter. Bake 25 to 28 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Run knife around sides of pan to loosen cake. Cool at least 30 minutes. Serve with ice cream, drizzle with toppings and sprinkle with pecans. Store loosely covered.
This recipe was great - very rich!! I probably added a bit more than 1/2 a bag of chocolate chips, you can't ever have too much chocolate, right? ha. I also would have sprayed the sides of the pan after baking the bottom half and before adding the caramel. The caramel/pecan mixture really stuck to my cake pan and it was kind of hard to get the cake out. I even loosened the sides right after baking as recommended, but it still stuck a bit.

Butter Baked Pumpkin Seeds

2 c. pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
1 tsp. salt

Spread seeds on a cookie sheet and let dry overnight. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Combine butter and salt and toss with seeds. Bake for 50 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes until seeds are lightly browned.  Sounds really good, my youngest daughter
loves these pumpkin seeds.

•Drinking From the Well of Living Water•

The Bible mentions water over and over again, Sometimes, water is simply water.
Quite often, though, Scriptures uses water as a picture of the Holy Spirit. Consider
John 7:37-38, this records Christ's own words: "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." This thirst Jesus mentions here is so much more than physical thirst. It's the longing for relief from all the hurt sin has brought into our world. It's the longing for a personal conflict to finally end. It's the soul's cry for justice or an aching body's plea for a peaceful night's rest. Most of , it's the guilt-ridden heart wondering if Gof will really forgive- again. That's real thirst.

Are you really thristing for those rivers of living water? Do you truly believe that Jesus can fill your soul and restore your hope with peace, healing and giving strength for each day. HE CAN, and HE WILL just trust in him.

Fabulous Fall Friday

Wow another week is rolling by, they are going just to fast for me to keep up with. I am so thankful for all the wonderful blessings in my life, and most of all the salvation God has given so freely, how much he love you and me, what unconditional love he has for us, all the time, not just at times when he feels like it but all the time, any time we can go to him, and get a full cup of strength, or love, or any thing we are in need of. I hope you have a great day. Pray for a lady at our church, she is a dear woman, she had cancer a year ago, and now she has another mass in her lung. Thank you all for being great prayer warriors and so willing to pray for others. God bless you and have a great Thrusday. Philippians 4:6 "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God".

Sweet Potato Puff

2 cups mashed sweet potato
2 tablespoons butter
salt and pepper
1/4 cup milk or cream
1 egg

To the mashed potatoes add the melted butter, seasonings and milk.
Beat the egg yolk and white separately, add the yolk to the potato
mixture and then fold in the white. Bake in one dish or in individual
molds until puffy and brown.

A Few Salt Tips

A pinch of salt improves the flavor of cocoa
.

To remove grease stains in clothing, mix one part salt to four parts alcohol.

Salt and lemon juice removes mildew.

Sprinkle salt between sidewalk bricks where you don't want grass growing.

Polish your old kerosene lamp with salt for a brighter look. Remove odors from sink drainpipes with a strong, hot solution of salt water.

If a pie bubbles over in your oven, put a handful of salt on top of the spilled juice. The mess won't smell and will bake into a dry, light crust which will wipe off easily when the oven has cooled.

Have a fabulous Friday, and have a blessed weekend.

Wonderful Wednesday

It has been a while since I posted, and I have been meaning almost
daily to come in and update, I am feeling better, and my dh
neck is able to function again, it was a long week of illness for us
both, and I am happy it is over. Now I ask for prayer for my
husband again. He seen the doctor yesterday, and he has a legion
on his throat, he will go in for a biopsy on the 14th of Oct, so if
you would please keep him in prayer, and that it will be just torn
muscle from preaching all these years, but always praying God's
magnificent will be done also. Thank you a head of time.

Well besides that we are doing well, and staying very busy doing
the work that God has called us to. I had bought some beef ribs
last shopping trip, and wanted to make short ribs and rice like my
mom used to make, well I did not have a clue, so asked my sister
she had never made them either, and I tried to find a recipe, well
I could not find a recipe that seemed like I wanted either, so I just
went ahead and made them the way I thought they should be, well
they were out of this world, and my husband just loved them, I will
be making them again soon, so here is what I did, and the recipe
to make them yourself.

1 pound of Beef Short Ribs
2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 medium Onion
4 Beef bullion Cubes
5 cups of water
and 1 cup of rice

Now I put about two tablespoons of Canola oil in  pot
and browned and seared the beef on all sides, salted to
taste, then I  added the onion, and let it tender, when it
was ready Iadded the 5 cups of water, then when boiling
I added bullion cubes. It simmered for about 2 hours, I took
out the meat, poured off the water,(saving) and then added back
two cups of the broth and the 1 cup of rice, added
the beef back to mixture, and let it cook down til the rice
was done. WAHLAH it was scrumptious, best meal
ever, I had french bread with it, and some slaw, my dh
just raved about it. SO I have a new dish to serve often.
I hope try it, and make it for your family, they will love
it I am sure.
I have enough broth to make some noodles too. Sorry
I did not take any photos of them.
Hope you all have a wonderful week, and I hope to be
on the computer more now. God bless you real good.

Have a Wonderful Day, Barbara

Friday Prayer

Luke 9:11 "And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing".

Pray for my dear husband, he has a stiff neck, I am not sure if it is a cold or
something else, he can hardly move his head, and to look from side to side is impossible, I have some stomach issues too so pray for us both please, and
I am claiming this verse for both of us, if any one can heal it is my Jesus.

In many things we do we leave Jesus out of, I am always sorry for that, I try
to keep him first in my life, and hope you do too, being human means we do
fall, and err often, but my precious Saviour is always there to pick me up,
dust me off, and let me start a fresh. God bless you this day, pick who you
serve, God or Satan..

Have a blessed day and thank you ahead of time for your prayers.

 Much Love, and Prayers, Barbara

I Am Truly Sorry

It has been a very busy time for me lately, and I have not been on
the computer as I once was, but I have been busy for the lord, and
always he will come first, I pray you understand, and that you
will pray with me that we can do all God has put in our path to do.

We did get to go fishing last Monday, did not catch a thing, and
my husbands motor kept conking out, so we used the trolling
motor to get where we wanted to be in a sloop, but they fish were
not biting then either, so we did not stay a real long time, but quite
honestly it seemed like forever for me, if I am not getting bites, I do
not like to just sit and wait for them to bite, so I was ready to leave
when my husband decided we were not going to catch anything. LOL

It has been a time since I talked about our church and the ministry
there, the bus ministry is doing well, lots of new kids, and many getting
saved and baptized, and that is what it is all about, and seeing them
parents coming to see them baptized is a thrill. I teach the teens, and for
the past couple weeks our Junior girls teacher has been ill, so I have
had them all, this week I do believe it will be back to normal though. We
started a Junior church last Sunday also. It went very well, and run it
just as the regular church, take up and offering, and sing some songs, then
my dh preaches to them, on their level, it was good, and I enjoyed being
with them also. So you see we are busy, have lots of preparations to to
and studying also, love it though.

It has cooled off here (finally) feels so much better, it was a tad chilly infact
when I let my little dog out this morning too, so fall is coming, and I am
loving it. So how is the weather where you are, so many differents areas are
on the blogs that it can be freezing somewhere, while in the 90's elsewhere.
Makes it very interesting though.

Well I must leave for now, hope you all have a marvellous weekend, and that
souls will be saved tomorrow at your churches. God bless you real good, and
keep us in your prayers please.

All Because Of Him, Barbara

The Color Purple

Purple is royalty. A mysterious color, purple is associated with both nobility and spirituality.

The opposites of hot red and cool blue combine to create this intriguing color.
Purple has a special, almost sacred place in nature: lavender, orchid, lilac, and violet flowers are often delicate and considered precious. Because purple is derived from the mixing of a strong warm and strong cool color it has both warm and cool properties.
A purple room can boost a child's imagination or an artist's creativity. Too much purple, like blue, could result in moodiness.
The color of mourning for widows in Thailand, purple was the favorite color of Egypt's Cleopatra.
It has been traditionally associated with royalty in many cultures. Purple robes were worn by royalty and people of authority or high rank. The Purple Heartis a U.S. Military decoration given to soldiers wounded in battle.
No wonder my favorite color is purple, it brings out the royality in me, lol have a wonderful Friday.

We had a wonderful Sonday...WOW lots of children, and we had our first Jr. Church, the boys and girls were really good, and seemed to take away much with them, Praise God to be able to serve the lord, what joy it brings. We had 3 baptized last night too, a whole family of one little girl came, amen...
One that we knew prior, and had been praying for a very long time, like about 13 years, it was so great to see them come in, made my heart just praise God out loud, lol, I can be vocal at times, even though I try to keep it toned down, heehee, I just love the lord and would bust if I did not say praise God, or amen some times. Hope your day was as great as ours, God bless each of you my friends this day.

Thankful Thursday

It has been a great day, my dh took the final test and passed
now he has the hands on test and will have his passengers
license, he can drive any vehicle that hold passengers now,
mostly will be for driving the Church Bus. SO Praise God,
we all are so very blessed, read these few things and see
if you agree, you are truly blessed of God. Amen...

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who won't survive the week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 20 million people around the world.

If you attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than almost three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read anything at all.

You are so blessed in ways you may never even know.

If we tried to count the blessings our loving Heavenly Father bestows upon us daily we would find it an impossible task our blessings are to numerous to count.

How dare we ever complain that we are poor, persecuted, hard done by, or anything else, we have a roof over our heads, a few dollars in the bank, a little money in our purse, hot water for a shower, food in the refrigerator, etc etc. We are the richest 8% in the world, even the poorest of us. We can go to church and worship our awesome God in complete freedom. We have never experienced true persecution in any shape or form. Let us never forget or take it for granted, our Father has blessed us so greatly, we should be forever grateful for all the wonderful blessings that Father pours upon us daily, and we should be constantly thanking Him who has given us so very much.

Now Have a wonderfully blessed evening, and KNOW you are blessed of the blessed.

Labor Day, the first Monday in September,

is a creation of the labor movement and
is dedicated to the social and economic
achievements of American workers. It
constitutes a yearly national tribute to
the contributions workers have made to
the strength, prosperity, and
well-being of our country.

Take rest; a field that has rested gives a
bountiful crop. I hope you have a safe
and happy day, enjoy it, we all work hard
all week, and we need to take time to rest
our bodies, to get ready to work again, even
God rested, do not feel bad about it, just
enjoy your time spent with family and
friends. God bless you and I hope, like
me you will love this day God has given.

Did you ever have any special Labor day
that sticks out in your mind? I do, my
birthday is September 1 and it sometimes
fall on Labor Day, so when this happens
we usually do something really special, I
remember once we took a scenic drive up
to the mountains, it was a wonderful trip,
and one that will stay in my mind forever.
