Wednesday's Wonderful Word

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid." Matthew 5:14

Most of the world today is filled with darkness, and most of the talk today is viewed by darkness in how the people live. But when people live for Christ, we see that vast difference in the world, how they dress, how they act, how they talk. Because our light shines in this darkness, others take notice. Are others seeing your light shine? Will they be drawn to the Father by that light? Or will they simply say, oh they live just like us, why would I want to be a Christian. God forbid, may we let the world see God's grace and love shine though our daily lives, may we reach them for Christ while there is yet time.  I always say I want to live the same when I am home as I do when I am at church, some times I do look pretty ratty, my hair a mess, and old stained and holey clothes on, but there is still something different in me, I still shine, If I ever loose that shine and that willingness to be Christ like, I hope he just says come on home, your no good to me here any more. I think many Christians have been called home early because of this very reason. When we get so much like the world around us, we just have no heavenly use, we do not have any affect on those around us, and there is no reason for God to leave us here. I must say there are times when I feel so heavy and laden, and just wish he would come get me, then he gives me a touch of his love, his strength, his power, and I have the will to face another day.  I have Rheumatoid Arthritis; the Doctor told me with in 5 years I would probably be in a wheel chair, well I sure do not want that to happen, and I do not want to dwell on that fact of being ill, I want you to see the Spirit in me,  going forward and being active, there are days I cannot hardly move, and my legs will not go much, but I refuse to lay down and quit. 1Corinthians 16:13 "Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong."  God has left me here for a reason, I must carry out his commission and when he says lay down girl, your work is finished, then I will lay day. But, until then I will keep going, through his strength, knowing he will give me what I need to do his will.  Have a very blessed Wednesday, and a wonderful prayer meeting tonight, pray one for another, and keep each of our bloggers in your prayers too.  Let your light shine bright where ever you go. Follow the foot steps of Jesus.

Thanks Barbara - I too, at times, wondered why God has left me here, but am now embarking on a new stage in my life, and now know that He has a purpose for me. I'm glad I was not called home. I hope to let my light shine a bit brighter, to share His Glory. Bless you, my southern-friend. Take care, from KY.

AMEN!!!May we all do as the little song that I sing with my Kid's Church and take, "This Little Light Of Mine...I'm Gonna Let It Shine!"

This Ozarks farm chick wants to light-up and shine to help, bless and win others.

From the very hot and humid hills and hollers of the Ozark Ponderosa, ya'll have a wonderfully blessed day!!

Thank you Barb for the words of wisdom. I too have often wondered why I am here, but I know that God does have a plan.
I love that song and I remember we would sing it at SS.

Good Morning Barbara,

My name is Arielle and I work with a small publicity company that partners with Christian authors trying to get their books off the ground. I read through many blogs to find the best possible readers for our authors. I am very eager to add you personally to my list of reviewers for a specific book.

New author Georgie Newman has written A Word to the End Time Church(VMI Publishers, '09), and believe me, this isn't just another inspirational book. Newman's message is powerful and fearless. Her prayer for her readers is to be inspired and equipped with God's word again, to be totally immersed in the Spirit.

(For if we are to) run through the fire unscathed,..saturate yourself in water so there is not one combustible strand the fire can utilize. So too in our lives...We need to saturate ourselves with the Word and the Spirit so there is not one strand of weakness the enemy can use to bring us down."

I'd like to send you this book to review, if this is something you'd be interested in please let me know. I hope to be hearing from you soon
