Friday's Poem

Judge Gently

Pray, don't find fault with the man
who limps or stumbles along the road
Unless you have worn the shoes he wears,
or struggled beneath his load.
There may be tacks in his shoes that hurt,
though hidden away from view,
Or the burden he bears..placed on your back,
might cause you to stumble too.
Don't sneer at the man who's down today,
unless you have felt the blow
That caused his fall or felt the shame
that only the fallen know.
You may be strong, but still the blows
that were his, if dealt to you,
In the selfsame way at the selfsame time
might cause you to stagger too.
Don't be too harsh with the man who sins
or pelt him with word or stone
Unless you are sure...Ye doubly sure
that you have no sins of your own.
For you know, perhaps, if the tempters voice
should whisper as softly to you
As it did to him when he went astray
It could cause to to falter too.

This was in my Electric bill under family features, it speaks loudly, and carries a very heavy message, it touched my heart and I hope it touches yours also. God bless you my dear friends and I pray your day is touched by the Master's hand, and that he leads you into paths of righteousness, be blessed. But more importantly be a blessing...

Amen, dear Barbara! Your post made me think of our dear Savior's compassion toward the woman caught in adultery. When I start to harbor a judgmental thought toward a person, I remind myself of how He dealt with that woman and try to see others the way He sees them.

Thank you for this important reminder! Have a blessed weekend! :)

I have read that before---but it's something we all should read over and over...

I remember when I used to teach little ones.. Sometimes, I would get so frustrated with one little guy who kept misbehaving.. It was ONLY after I found out what kind of life that poor child was having at home--that I understood why he was acting the way he was. We truly don't know what others have been through, do we???? God Bless us ALL.
Hugs,
Betsy

Yes Betsy I had one that sticks out in my mind too, I loved him to being good, I could simply ask him if what he was doing pleased Jesus and he would behave, He came from a rough home life too. We just never know what our neighbor is been through or going through. I too love this poem.

Thank you for sharing that - it's very thought provoking.

Thanks for your kind comments on my blog. I got the picture frames at the Dollar Tree! This house is very small and I actually hung the family pictures of the women in my life in the powder room!

Hope you get the opportunity to display some of your treasured photos too.

Wishing you a nice weekend.

Great poem with a great message..I love the saying, "love the sinner, hate the sin." We have all fallen short of the glory of God, my His grace only to we have salvation...Have a wonderful weekend ! {{HUGS}}

Something that we should all remember but hardly ever do.
