Thankful Thursday

So what are you thankful for today? It could be your children, or your health or a number of things, you know it does not have to be something real big and important for us to thank God for. It is being humble of heart, and thanking him for all the many little things he does for us each day, that we take for granted;

like breathing, or blinking, or clearing our throat, think about it, if we could not breath, wow how scary that can be.  I have asthma and at times I do loose my breath, I do not have a severe case where I need treatment every time, but some times I have had breathing treatments, my point is any time you cannot breathe good it scares you.
Or blinking how many times a day do you think our eyes blink? I am sure there is someone that has recorded that, my self I do not have a clue, I know how important it is though, if we do not blink, our eyes dry out, and becomes very sore and irritated, so how many times a day do you think you clear your throat, it is automatic and seems to be just a reflex.  But it is God that created all these little helps, and it is he that keeps us going from day to day, and today that is what I am focusing on,  thanking my Father in heaven for creating me the way he did, and taking care of all these parts that work so well daily, yes he sure is a loving Father and I sure appreciate all he does for me.

Thank you Lord, thank you, thank you, thank you, I could never put into words all he means to me. I would like to thank all my friends that comment daily too, what would our blogs be if no one commented? Just a Diary I suppose, so I love the posts, just keep them coming, I look at and read each one, then pray for you as I go on to the next, God bless you dear ones today, and every day, and may our focus be on how thankful to God each of are. have a very blessed day, and may God bless you abundantly for your faithfulness to him.

Colossians 3:17 "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Lots of hugs,

Wednesday Amazing Story

A Fishy Story

This was such an amazing story I wanted to share it with my blogging friends.

A guy who lives at Lake Conroe (50 miles north of Houston) saw a ball bouncing around
kind of strange in the lake and went to investigate.
It turned out to be a flathead catfish that had apparently tried to
swallow a basketball which became stuck in its mouth!!

The fish was totally exhausted from trying to dive, but unable to,
because the ball would always bring him back up to the surface.
The guy tried numerous times to get the ball out, but was unsuccessful.
He finally had his wife cut the ball in order to deflate it and release the hungry catfish.
You probably wouldn't have believed this, if you hadn't seen the following pictures:

My busy productive week, after putting up the corn, I did all these tomatoes, and I still have
a 5 gallon bucket to put up and freeze, these are such wonderful tomatoes we had tomato sandwiches for lunch, then I made Tomatoes and rice for supper, yumyum oh so good.

This Gorgeorus flower in bloom, it is a rare one, any one know what it is called,
my friend give it to me about 20 years ago, and it blooms every year around this time.
Have a very blessed Wednesday and wonderful evening too, Lots of hugs ♥

☺Tasty Tuesday☺

With Summer here, and most of us have a wonderful array of vegetables, a friend had
given me this from Mayo Clinic, so thought I would share it with you, with all the wonder
ful recipes I have, and have shared I think thiswill be a great difference, but we all like to eat
healthy, and this will help you to do it, many good choices in these below. Some are my
favorites in fact. So with our Tasty Tuesday we will share some healthy eating today, be
blessed, and have a wonderful day.

Vegetables are often relegated to the side of the plate, but they can easily stand alone or even become the featured food. Try new ways of serving up the four or more daily servings of vegetables recommended by the Mayo Clinic Healthy Weight Pyramid.

Vegetables are actually quite versatile, and, as a nutritional powerhouse, they can form the foundation of your healthy-eating plan. These 10 entrees put vegetables in the spotlight and add interest and color to your healthy diet.

Portobello mushroom burger. Marinate a large portobello mushroom in French or Italian dressing or make your own marinade with 1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, 1 teaspoon olive oil, a clove of minced garlic, salt and pepper. Grill over medium heat until tender, about 5 minutes on each side. Serve on a bun or alone.

Spring greens with butternut squash. Add 1 cup spring greens or leaf lettuce to a plate. In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup cooked butternut squash, 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar and 1/2 tablespoon olive oil. Top the greens with the squash mixture, 1/2 tablespoon sunflower seeds and 1 teaspoon honey.

Asparagus, tomato and red pepper French bread pizza. Arrange French bread slices on a baking sheet. Add pizza sauce and a mixture of diced asparagus, Roma tomatoes, red bell peppers and minced garlic. Sprinkle lightly with mozzarella cheese. Bake at 400 F until the cheese is lightly browned and the vegetables are tender, about 8 to 10 minutes.

Grilled vegetable kebabs. Brush cherry tomatoes, button mushrooms, zucchini slices, red onions and bell peppers with Italian dressing. Place onto skewers and grill over medium heat, turning often, until the vegetables are tender, about 5 to 8 minutes.

Asparagus with almonds. In a skillet, add 1/4 pound chopped asparagus and 1/4 cup water. Simmer until the asparagus is tender-crisp, about 4 to 6 minutes. Drain remaining water and stir in 1 teaspoon lemon juice and 1 teaspoon olive oil. Serve over 1/2 cup rice and top with roasted sliced almonds.

Italian vegetables with pasta. In a heavy skillet, add chopped sweet onions, red peppers, yellow summer squash, zucchini squash, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 minced garlic cloves and 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning. Saute until the vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes. Serve over cooked pasta and prepared pasta sauce.

Honey-glazed sweet potatoes. Peel and chop 4 large sweet potatoes. Toss with a mixture of 1/4 cup water, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons honey and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Arrange on a baking sheet. Cover with foil and bake at 375 F for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake another 15 minutes until the glaze is thick and the potatoes are tender.

Corn and barley salad. In a bowl, add 1 sliced cucumber, 2 cups cooked barley, 2 cups cooked corn and 3/4 cup chopped red bell peppers. Stir in the following dressing: 3 tablespoons white vinegar, 1 tablespoon water, 1 1/2 teaspoon oil, 1/2 teaspoon dried basil, 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper. Marinate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Fresh vegetable soup. In a large pot, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and chopped vegetables, such as onions, carrots, green beans and celery. Saute until tender, about 3 to 4 minutes. Add 4 cups chicken or vegetable stock, 3 cups water, sliced potatoes (peeled), and season with salt, pepper and parsley. Bring to a boil and cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.

Vegetable pita pockets. In a small bowl, add cauliflower and broccoli florets, sliced green onions, diced tomatoes and cucumbers, and 1 1/2 teaspoons low-fat buttermilk or cucumber ranch salad dressing. Cut 1 whole-wheat pita bread in half and fill each half with the vegetable mixture and 1 tablespoon crumbled feta cheese. Warm in the microwave about 40 seconds

Marvellous Monday

What we know fondly as the “Stars and Stripes” was adopted
by the Continental Congress as the official American flag on
June 14, 1777, in the midst of the Revolutionary War. Colonial troops fought
under many different flags with various symbols and slogans—rattlesnakes,
pine trees, eagles, “Don’t Tread on Me,” “Liberty or Death,”
and “Conquer or Die,” to name a few.

The first flag had 13 stars on a blue field and 13 alternating red and white
stripes for the 13 original colonies. Now there are 50 stars, one for each state
in the Union, but the 13 stripes remain. Flag Day was first celebrated in 1877,
on the flag’s 100th birthday.

It has been so busy here, not had much time for the computer, and I sure miss writing,
and reading in all the lovely blogs that I have come to love.

Saturday we went and picked 11 dozen ears of corn, we came home and husked them, then blanched and bagged them in 10 ear each bags, whewwwwwwwwwww I was so tired, then of course yesterday was Sunday and we left early for church our SS starts at 9:45 and we drive about 30 minutes from here. Last night services were so good too, we had a man saved yesterday, and young couple with two children join last night, he will be our Youth Director too. So it was a great weekend, and as you know and I posted our granddaughter graduated, and we spent Friday in Jacksonville, FL.

TODAY...Yet another busy day we are leaving about 8:00 am to go about an hours away to pick tomatoes, we can get a 5 gallon bucket for 5.00 dollars, it is U pick, then at 1:30 I have a doctors appointment with my Rheumatologist, for any that wonder I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, and see this doctor about every 3 months, I take a medicine called Metotraxate, it is a form of Chemo treatment, and has to be watched closely it can have side effects of kidney damage, so far so good. So that is the plan, and I see it to be way late in the after noon before we ever get home, and I will probably wait until tomorrow to put the tomatoes up. (Blanch and Freeze) I do not can much any more, freezing is so very much easier.
So that about winds it up for me today, not much to chew on but praise God for a busy life, and being able to do all things needed to be done, right??? Hope you have a wonderful Monday. Lots of hugs and

Thankful Thursday

Good morning my dear friends, , thought I would post this being it is Thursday and I try to never miss a chance to praise God, and post something to be thankful for, and today is no different.

We are leaving around 10 for Jacksonville, FL going to the Big Veterans Memorial Arena, to watch my precious little Stevie Wevie graduate, (Stephanie Michelle), this is Shellee's girl, our youngest daughter, the one we prayed for a very long for, just like some other women she was not able to conceive right off, she wanted a baby so bad, so we kept praying the same prayer as Hannah did for Samuel. God answered our prayers June 12 18 years ago, now this dear child has been an all A student since preschool, today she is graduating from High school, with many honors, and has 3 full scholarships she can choose any college she wants, and she is going to one in Jacksonville, oh me, I would of choose Florida UF(Gators) for sure. ♥

I am so happy for her, and happy for Shellee that she will not be going away. So today is the big day, wow, I could go on for hours writing, all the times she was such a blessing through the years, but instead I will just give God the glory for her, I will thank him for answering our prayers of so long ago, and tell him; thank you Father for giving such a bright, and dear girl for us to love, and to enjoy. To God be the glory for sure, he said ye have not because ye ask not, well we ask and pleaded and prayed continually, and he answered our prayer, thank you lord for all the times you have answered prayer, and all the blessings you have bestowed upon me.

God bless you all, and please share what you are thankful today, even if it is God provided your toast for breakfast, some have not that. Lots of hugs.

♥Congratulations Stephanie Michelle, We love girl...♥

Wonderful Wednesday Word

Wow Wednesday is here, I have not wanted to take the Alabaster box down, I love that song, and every time I would think about the words it touched my heart yet again, I know God's wonderful infinite mercy does endure forever. I could tell you time after time that his mercy has touched us, and made circumstances different.  Lets start off with some scripture today, Let go over to the Psalms, I think the Psalmist said it better than any other, so I am going to take our text today from Psalms.
Psalms 4:1 "Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer."

This particular verse really brings to mind a time when God sure helped me in a time of distress.
It was 3 am and the phone rang, it was one of my daughters calling from the hospital, she said Jack our youngest son, had been in a very bad car crash, that he was on life support and if we wanted to see him alive we better get there quickly.  This was in Jacksonville, FL and we live in Southern Georgia, about an hour or so away. My husband and I were numb, we looked at each other, and just dropped to our knees, we prayed and asked God to help us through this time, we told God that he had given us our son, and it was up to him whether to keep him here, or take him to heaven, we left it like that. Then A sweet peace came over me,  as we dressed and drove that hour away.
By the time we reached the hospital we were in full control or our emotions, God had taken over and given sweet mercy,  a mercy and complete grace than none other can give. We found out where my son was,  then proceeded to go to them, when we entered the room where they were; we heard talking, assuming it was my other children, as they all were gathered around my son's bed, and in the midst of the bed we seen our son, wide awake, talking to them, his head was all bandaged and he looked so very pale and small.  We were utterly surprised, when he seen us he started to cry and said, I know God had his hand on me, and brought me out of this time of distress.
My husband said there is no doubt about that at all, you were in his hands totally, and he took care of you.  Whew what a swwet relief, we thought we would be planning a funeral and here he was talking to us.  For lack of time and space I will get to the really good part.

When his doctor came in, he looked at us, and told us, our son was a miracle, he had never seen a case like this where there was no brain damage. Thist was just one of God's miracles, then he proceeded to tell us, that Jack went through the car windshield, and flew about 300 feet in the air, he then  landed in some bushes, they thought he had fled the scene, then finally they found him. He had over 1300 staples in his head,  it sheared the top of his head almost off, and when the doctor was telling us this, I could just picture my lord's hand over my son's head, protecting his brains from damage, he also had a broken arm and left, it took much time for him to heal, and he never forgot that day he flew through the air, and then landed in the arms of God.

If you ever need help in any situation, put your faith and trust in God, he is worthy, and he is able to deliver you from even the hand of the Giant. Yes indeed, God's mercy endureth forever.
Have a very happy Wednesday, and thank God for his mercy.

My Alabaster Box

My Alabaster Box

Alabaster was very expensive in Bible times, and if a person bought an alabaster box, it was only used for very important Alabaster historically was a symbol of purity and great honour purposes.

These boxes were of alabaster, which in ancient times men made hollow to put in ointments: for some write that alabaster keeps ointment without changing it in any way.

Luke 7:37 "And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment," VS 38 "And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. VS 39 "Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner."

Jesus proceeds to to tell them what the truth is, the Pharisee expresses disgust that such a woman, who, a sinner, should be allowed to do such a thing, Christ rebukes him and points out that since the woman has entered, she has done nothing but minister to him while the Pharisee, whose name is Simon, has done nothing. He then turns to the woman and pardons her of all her sins for her great devotion.

It is the receiving vessel, into which the Holy Spirit pours and the individual can be transformed. Here it is filled with ointment. The woman is not just washing Christ but ANOINTING him. And remember that the word Christ means 'Anointed One'. Can we do the same for Jesus, may we be anointed by him, and in return anoint him with our honor, our worship, and our adoration. This is such a wonderful story in God's holy word, we were at that Revival all last week, a couple of nights one of the ladies sang Alabaster Box, it is heart touching, and breaks your heart, I spent many hours in tears last week, God truly touched my heart, and this song is one of the most anointed songs I have heard in a very long time. Oh that you could all hear it, has anyone ever heard it, or am I just behind times, so I did a search and come up with this. I hope you can get this UTUBE to play and hear it as well as sing along with it, get your hankie, you will be in tears, I promise...

Alabaster Box the Lyrics

VERSE 1

The room grew still as she made her way to Jesus
She stumbles through the tears that made her blind
She felt such pain, some spoke in anger
Heard folks whisper, there's no place here for her kind.
Still on she came, through the shame that flushed her face
Until at last she knelt before His feet. And though she spoke no words
Everything she said was heard, As she poured her love for the Master
From her box of Alabaster.

CHORUS

And I've come to pour my praise on Him like oil from Mary's Alabaster Box
Don't be angry if I wash His feet with my tears and I dry them with my hair.
You weren't there the night He found me.
You did not feel what I felt when He wrapped His love all around me.
And you don't know the cost of the oil in my Alabaster Box.

VERSE 2

I can't forget the way life used to be. I was a prisoner to the sin that had me bound
I spent my days pouring my life without measure.
Into a little treasure box I thought I found. Until the day when Jesus came to me
And healed my soul with the wonder of His touch.
So now I'm giving back to Him all the praise He's worthy of .
I've been forgiven and that's why I love Him so much.

CHORUS

And I've come to pour my praise on Him like oil from Mary's Alabaster Box
Don't be angry if I wash His feet with my tears
And I dry them with my hair, my hair.
You weren't there the night Jesus found me. You did not feel what I felt
When He wrapped His love all around me. And you don't know the cost of the oil
Oh, you don't know the cost of my praise. You don't know the cost of the oil
In my Alabaster Box.

Hope you can listen to it.

Fabulous Faithful Friday

Well another week has come and is almost gone, this week has been a really great one for us, the Revival has stirred my soul and enlightened me to many faults I have, praise God I am never too old to learn, or to change and try to better myself for God's Glory, it has been good, and I kinda hate to see it end. But what we have in our heart will never end. I just love the book of Romans,  we call Romans 8 the Roses of Romans, and oh such wonderful sweet fragrance comes from these verses too. It is one of the most helpful chapters in the word of God. This verse has helped me so very much in my every day life.

Romans 8:13 "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live."

If I were too look at my life from a human standpoint, it would be very discouraging, but the grace of God is most definitely sufficient, I have proven him over and over again, I am not able to do all the things I once did, and I am so slow a snail could beat me in a race. But I honestly try to live in the faith and not under the circumstances, look at so many, they let pain get them down to where the cannot even look up, go into deep depression, that is very easy to do too by the way, but if we look to Christ he will keep us in perfect peace, as we go through our daily living, we need to keep our eyes on Jesus, keep our faith in him, keep our trust in him, he will keep us, he has promised us this in his word.

The scripture says that “Without weakening in his faith, he (Abraham) faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.” I am here to tell you God always does what he promises, you can find these little promises all through the bible, seek them out, claim them, and usually there is a condition for these promises, but it is nothing we are not capable of doing, lets all surrender our will to his will, and what a witness we can be to our Lord and Saviour as we give praise and glory to God, even through our pain, even through our own weaknesses, then he can make us strong, in our physical bodies, and in our minds and in our spiritual faith.

God bless you, and look to Jesus, he is the great Physician, he is the saver of the soul, he is my all and all.

I do love this song: Makes my heart soar.

LIVING BY FAITH
I care not today what the morrow may bring,

If shadow or sunshine or rain,
The Lord I know ruleth o’er everything,
And all of my worries are vain.

Refrain:
Living by faith in Jesus above,
Trusting, confiding in His great love;
From all harm safe in His sheltering arm,
I’m living by faith and feel no alarm.

Though tempests may blow and the storm clouds arise,
Obscuring the brightness of life,
I’m never alarmed at the overcast skies—
The Master looks on at the strife.

I know that He safely will carry me through,
No matter what evils betide;
Why should I then care though the tempest may blow,
If Jesus walks close to my side.

Our Lord will return for His loved ones some day,
Our troubles will then all be o’er;
The Master so gently will lead us away,
Beyond that blest heavenly shore.

          THANKFUL THURSDAY

Good Morning, I hope you are happy and healthy on this Thursday morning, the 3 day of June, wow, it is here, summer, staying in the 90's, lol, feels really good though, and perhaps I can take a dip now, hope the water is warmed, it seems to take very much heat to warm that thing.

Today is a day to think on the things we are thankful for, please feel free to share what you are thankful for here in this post too, I love seeing how the lord blesses each of you, where you are and in the ways that mean the most to you.

This photo I took yesterday in our flower bed, isn't it gorgeous, reminds of the little Book Linda A dear friend wrote, "Don't Pet The Cactus", lol there are several more blooms on this and it is a blessing to see. We dug this Cactus up when my children were small, had it in Jacksonville, for years, and brought it with us up here to Georgia, so to see it still thriving and blooming yearly, does my heart good, I have a little piece of the state of Florida here.

I often wonder why do I love Florida like I do, we have been around the Country and some very beautiful places we have lived. I am originally from Michigan, so why is Florida my hearts desire? Well my Barbology tells me it is because I was saved in Florida, so lost and undone, and on my way to a Devil's hell, then we moved to Florida and that is where I accepted Jesus Christ as my very own Saviour. When ever I go back to think of the day I was saved, it was in our little home there in Florida, I guess I will never forget it, or ever loose my love for Florida. Most of my children are still there, and that keeps an important binding tie too.

So I am so thankful for God leading us to Florida, for God saving this girl out of misery and sin, and for God keeping me saved, and giving me a deep desire to serve and worship him in my everyday life, the best way I can share him here at home is online, I come in contact with so many online daily, gives me a chance to share my Jesus with all. To tell of my faith, and who my faith is put in.

Hope your Thankful Thursday gives you much to be thankful for, the Revival is again tonight and I am ready once again to go get my cup filled. God bless you all real good, and have blessed day.

Rom 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

1Cr 1:4  I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

Phl 1:3  I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

Oh yeah I do have so very much to be thankful for. So Lots of Hugs,
