Outside my window... I see it is foggy and drizzling.




I am thinking... That this is going to be a very quiet and peaceful day.


I am thankful for...For the nice comfortable home I have.


From the kitchen... The smell of coffee is making me feel very warm and cozy.


I am wearing... My jammies and robe and slippers
I am creating... gifts for valentines day


I am going...to check for eggs in bit, when I finish here


I am reading...Phillip Kellers, The 23rd Psalm, it is a wonderful book, I recommend reading it if you get the chance. 


I am hoping... That my dear husband has a very good day with the ministry work.


I am hearing... Nothing but the hum of my computer.


Around the house... I will get lots of cleaning done today, being alone here gives me much ambition.


One of my favorite things... Is to hear good preaching.


A few plans for the rest of the week....Tomorrow will be an early dinner, and church for prayer meeting. Thursday will be another running day, and Friday back to Jacksonville, FL.

Thought for the Day...A Better and an Enduring Substance

As Christians, we have certain heavenly possessions, and this knowledge helps us put our earthly possessions and welfare in proper perspective.


True Contentment...Comes from knowing Jesus Christ as personal saviour, he will give you the only true contentment in your life, the world cannot give contentment, only some one without sin or baggage can give us contentment. Like the book of Philippians says, in 4:11  "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."

Sharing It Saturday

I have not shared a good recipe in a while, with Christmas over and most stuffed and sick of goodies and sweets I stayed away from it, but, today I am sharing a great recipe from the Hershey them self, it is no doubt the best chocolate around, I have tried others but none like Hershey. Hope you enjoy this recipe I have chosen. They are easy, they are tasty and my memories of them are great.

They had every petit four imaginable on the cruise we went on, the whole table was fill with them, now most did not taste as good as they looked, but this recipe is the best, and they will be the hit of any party or shower.

Brownie Petit Fours

Ingredients

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, melted

1 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 eggs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chopped walnuts(optional)

2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) HERSHEY'S Mini Chips Semi-Sweet Chocolate

3 tablespoons shortening(do not use butter, margarine, spread or oil)

Sprinkles or decorator's icing(optional)

Directions

1.Heat oven to 350°F. Line 9-inch square baking pan with foil; grease foil.

2.Stir together butter, sugar and vanilla in bowl. Add eggs; beat well with spoon. Stir together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually add to egg mixture, beating until well blended. Stir in walnuts, if desired. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.

3.Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until brownie begins to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely in pan on wire rack; refrigerate about 2 hours.

4.Using edges of foil, lift brownie out of pan. Peel off foil; cut into 1-1/4 inch squares and allow to warm up to room temperature.

5.Line tray with wax paper. Melt small chocolate chips and shortening in small heavy saucepan over very low heat. Dip each brownie square into melted chocolate, covering completely. (Return to heat if chocolate cools and is hard to coat.) Gently tap on side of pan to allow extra chocolate to drip off. Place on prepared tray. Allow chocolate to set at room temperature or refrigerate until set (about 30 minutes); decorate as desired. Drizzle frosting over them,

(Sprinkles should be added just before chocolate sets.) About 3 dozen petit fours.

Thankful Thursday

How many remember these? I wore them in9th grade, with bobby socks and all, black watch plaid skirt, oh me I was styling for sure.

I am thankful I lived in easier times, and have seen so many things had been invented. I suppose my generation has seen more inventions than any other generation in history.  To me that is a blessing, God has allowed me to see all the things these eyes have seen.

I remember standing out in my front yard and all of a sudden the whole house was shaking, and such a terrible sound I had never heard, we found out later a Jet had flew over, and it broke the sound barrier.Now isn't that something to remember.  lol

Never in my young life did I think there would be an automatic dish washer around, just put all them plates in that machine, and it cleaned them better than I did, yes I sure have seen some inventions, like me sitting here in my living room tying this on a computer, wow now that is a great invention. I do love my laptop, I am getting used to it now, and truly enjoying it.

I had a great day today, seen my doctor, (I am doing good) then we ate lunch at Shoney's, looked at some new Suv's then did our monthly grocery shopping, whew, a very full day, now I am warm and cozy catching up on the blogging world. Hope you all have a great evening, and God bless you real good.

Wednesday Wisdom

Now keeping toasty is really wisdom, we are having such unusual weather all over the Country now, perhaps it is all that Global warming, ya think, NOT.. Perhaps it is God
letting us know we need to spend more time with him, when it is sub zero temperatures and 3 foot of snow on the ground, I say it is a good time to sit by the fire, with your choice of hot drink and read his holy word, the Kings James Bible of course, I am talking about, any one who knows me knows that is all I recognize as God's word, it is the one that was brought here from England, the one our Country was founded on, and the one that many folks even were taught from in their schools, it has been proven, it has been tested, and it has stood the test of time.
They have tried to burn it, they have tried to get rid of it in so many ways through the years, but God's word stands, it will stand, and he will make sure it is the one that always lasts. God is like the salt of the sea,  he seasons that word that was penned so many years ago by Holy men of old, given direction by the Holy Spirt, and no matter who writes a new book, it will never have the power that the old KJV has, it is written by men, who just want to change what God said, they have eliminated the virgin birth, saying a young woman, instead of a virgin, well I tell you there are many young women that are not virgins. They take out the blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin.  I see the different imitations as fraud, and sent from Satan to confuse and alter the minds of the weak and the lost.  Okay you having doubts here?
Think I am off the wall maybe, let me show you the comparison of each of these so called bibles. You pray about it, and seek his face, and see how you believe then.

"Why KJV Bible"

"I am the LORD, I change not." Malachi 3:6
"God is unchangeable. God's word is unchangeable too. In Matthew 24:35, the Lord Jesus said, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."


Why then are we so ready to accept changes to God's word in the form of different Bible versions? The Authorized King James text has faithfully served the body of Christ for almost 400 years. During this time, and during its translation, Satan has viciously and relentlessly attacked it. I now hear Christians attacking it too! I've heard preachers and lay people say things like, "it's too hard to read" or "it doesn't properly reflect the true meaning of the original Greek". The issue about the original Greek sets my teeth on edge--which Greek? There are Greek manuscripts galore, including the corrupted manuscripts that the Roman Catholic religion uses. The snide remarks and attacks against this utterly reliable text are unfounded.


We must remember that the Bible is a spiritual book and is understandable to those who are led by God's Spirit. It is not possible for the natural man to understand it [I Corinthians 2:14], hence paraphrasing or simplifying it will do no good. The Bible is not supposed to read like a fairy tale--Peter said, "for we have not followed cunningly devised fables" [II Peter 1:16]. The words of the Authorized King James are not laborious to me, they are beautiful and full of God's power. Even the world knows it--the Authorized King James has been listed on Norton Anthology's list of "the world's best literature" for decades.


The new versions have come up with some dangerous changes to the scriptures. The Lord God gives us stern warnings about changing His Word--


Revelation 22:18-19, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.


Proverbs 30:5-6, Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Look at this change in the NIV:


John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son...
The authorized King James says,
John 3:16, For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son.
In this instance, the NIV changes the scriptures by saying that Jesus is God's "one and only" Son instead of His only begotten Son. This change causes a contradiction in the word of God because God has more than one son according to both the King James (Genesis 6:2, Job 1:6, John 1:12) and NIV (Genesis 6:2).


I do not buy the line that the inerrant word of God is found only in the originals--which nobody has. I know that God has the power to preserve His word and that he wouldn't leave us out in the dark with an "imperfect" translation. In the authorized King James Version God assembled, and moved with His Spirit, a team of some of the world's best scholars to translate His word into the world's most popular language, English.


The complete translator's notes of the Authorized King James scholars are not included in today's publishings. This is unfortunate because these notes say a lot about these men -- they were humble, loved the word of God, loved the King, were berated by the Catholic religion, and they desired a translation for the common man who was kept in darkness. Some of the translators where killed for their faith. This book was forged in blood, sweat, and tears.
I've heard folks make a big to-do about the italics in the Authorized KJV. Well, unlike many of today's translators, the authorized KJV translators let us know which words they had to add in translating in order to give the full meaning of the original text (these are the words in italics in the KJV). Other translators have added words too--but they don't tell you what they've added. I speak a little Spanish and know that it is oftentimes necessary to rearrange or add words so that the translation makes sense. These men went through the extra trouble of identifying which words they added. That's real scholarship and integrity.


*Let's fall in love with the Authorized KJV again and stand on it. Let's get down to business and read the Word and stop spending so much time reading what others have to say about the Word in commentaries, Greek lexicons, study bibles, etc. We want the Holy Ghost to talk to us.


*How many classes have you been in where every student has a different textbook? None. It just doesn't make good sense on a very practical level. We all need to be on the same sheet of music so that we are in harmony. Let's not confuse our kids by teaching/preaching from the NKJV, NIV, NASV, LB, Phillips, GN, etc.


Let's not accept the premise that the tried and true Authorized King James is somehow outdated and is to be replaced by dozens of new translations. A standard test determined the Authorized KJV reading level to be 5th grade because it contains mostly one and two-syllablic words making it one of the easiest to read. People have been getting saved by reading it for a long, long time. We know that it contains the Word of life whereby we live and grow.


Satan knows that in a generation we won't uniformly quote the scriptures. Imagine ten people with ten different translations trying to recite a psalm together. Confusion. Satan knows that many newborn babes in Christ will not have the real milk that they need in order to grow because they'll have a watered down version of the truth. He figures that if he can't kill the babes, he'll do the next best thing-stunt their growth. At the same time the world will point to Christianity and say, "They don't even have a definitive word of God. Anybody can write a Bible." They already say that the Bible was "just written by men".


Being able to talk to a child of God and have our spirits commune on the parts of God's word that we've memorized is great. I now find people who are quoting scriptures that I know, but they are worded so differently that I have to ask the reference. This is confusion, and we know who authors confusion, the enemy of our souls, the Devil. I believe that the emergence of these many different "Bible" versions is Satan's most successful attempt to attack God's word. The Bible says that in the last days there's going to be a falling away of the church and I believe that these other versions are helping to usher it along.

PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE LAMB


I pledge allegiance to the Lamb with all my strength, with all I am. I will seek to honor His commands I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

Amazing the word (lamb) occurs 107 times in 100
verses in the KJV of the Bible. That tells me God
thinks it is important enough to take heed in the
verses that contain the word lame, I am looking at
the verses in John 1:29 "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world".

Jesus is referred to as the Lamb of God, in other places
he is referred to as the Shepherd, it gives me great
pleasure in knowing that my precious saviour is all things
to me, he is the Lamb, he is the Shepherd, he is the Saviour, he is my all in all.

When things go wrong, or things don't appear as they seem, then my great Shepherd is still leading me, he leads me in all ways, at times he needs to gently tap me with his staff to change my direction, but he is always leading, no matter what goes on in our life, our great Shepherd has been through it, and knows our need.

In Rev 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.



13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.


14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

The lamb of God is sitting on the right hand of the Father making intercessions for us now,. Worthy is the lamb, and
may I forever be thankful for that wonderful lamb of God
that laid down his life in my place. He paid the debt he did not owe, for a debt I owed and could not pay. Praise God.

Sharing It Saturday:

What is better to share than Jesus Christ, John 14:6  "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me".
When we share Christ with others we know we are giving the very best, that no matter what his word says it is the truth, and if we stick to his word, and not try adding our own words, we will give them everything they need for a good and pure life. It was when Eve added her own words to what God had said, she got into trouble, that is another reason for scripture memorization, GOD said it best, Psalms 119:11   "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee".
When we have memorized the word, when we share it with others, it makes it much easier to share it with others, if we do not know God's word, it is very hard to tell others what God has said, none of our memories are great these days, the elder woman any how,  but when I was young I did memorize the word of God, and to this day, some 35 years later, I still remember those verses I learned, I have called upon the lord to help me in many situations to bring to mind his word, and he has never left me out in the cold, he always brings to mind what is needed when I am sharing him with others.
My goal this new year is to learn more about my Jesus, to read more of his holy word, to spread the gospel more, and to be able to go out and tell others what this wonderful Saviour has did for me. You know if you have not memorized the scripture, just share with your family and friends what God has did for you, where he brought you from, and where you are now. I certainly am not what I want to be, but praise God I am not what I used to be, and as long as God gives the breath to me, I will take his word, and share it where ever I may go. That is one promise to God I will not break, and I will not with his help fail to tell them about this precious Jesus that saved my soul so many years ago. I have let him down many times, but you know he has never let me down even once, he has been by my side though thick and thin, he always give me the encouragement I needed, I would fall, he would help me up, dust me off, and give me sweet words to go on.

Let us turn to Jesus, and keep our eyes on him this year, with his help
may we exceed anything we have did in the past for him, I feel the time is getting close, I know it is at least 60 years closer than when I first heard he was coming back for me, so let us who wear the name Christian, make our lord proud, and serve him with all diligence and honor.

Back To Normal Today

We had a good New Year Eve Party with our church, lots of food, fellowship, and I am happy the holidays are all over, and I can get back to a normal day, Monday is our Sabbath, our day of rest; being in the Ministry the weekend is not the time for our resting, it is the busiest two days of the week in fact, but Monday, oh I love Monday's, I call it My Monday. Sooooooo today I do what I want to do, catching up on the computer, been a few days since I had time, and a few errands I must run, we have some phone calls to make and then the day is mine.

It is a nice day here today too, sunny and warmer, praise God, we did not get all those horrific storms some parts of the Country did get, we sure did lots of praying for those dear ones who were in the midst of them.

I have this wonderful cookie recipe to share with you, I know you will love it, cookies are my favorite dessert and I love the different ones.

Soft Lemonade Cookies

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup thawed lemonade concentrate, divided

Additional sugar

Directions
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine flour and baking soda; add to the creamed mixture alternately with 1/3 cup lemonade concentrate, beating well after each addition.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 400° for 8 minutes. Remove to wire racks. Brush with remaining lemonade concentrate; sprinkle with sugar. Cool. Yield: 6 dozen.

They will melt in your mouth, your family will simply love them too. Have a very blessed week, and I will post more when I can.

The year is almost over, tonight at midnight we will have a whole new year to look forward to, if the lord tarries. We cannot reclaim it or undo it, all the mistakes we made will be forever there, all the accomplishments we made will be in the past now. We cannot rely on the great distance it has brought us. If we see another tomorrow, it will be new day, a new opportunity, and the time to show our faith in Jesus as Lord.  Let's journey forward, knowing that God already knows what our tomorrow will bring, and the great and mighty things his hand is working, I am looking forward to this year, it is that much closer to the time when Jesus comes for his bride, the future and promises will provide us refreshment on our journey there.

God bless you in this new year, may you complete any tasks not finished, and may you bring love, peace, and happiness to all those around you. God bless you my friend, and do have a safe, and prosperous New Year.

Wonderful Wednesday Words


Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
John 14:1-3


He's coming back! As much as the world likes to remember Jesus' first coming during the Christmas season, we need to remind them that his Second Coming will be even greater. We want to be prepared, and our lives dedicated to his glory and hearts full of expectation at his coming.


He tells us in Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.


He warns us in many of the scriptures to watch and pray, and be ready, we must tell those around us to be ready, and how to be ready, not just saying well you better get saved and be ready is  enough, they do not understand what we mean.


Be plain and explain to them how they can be saved, and what will happen if they do not accept Christ as Saviour, it is our duty as a Christian to tell everyone we meet.
Let us be bold and have a fervent desire this new year to make sure all those around us are safe in the fold. I hope you will join me in the effort.

Monday Madness, NOT...Well Christmas is over, and Sunday is past, today is a day of rest for me, it has been a busy month, and with being sick, and my cyst on the knee, I have had my fill of December for one year, I am happy it is about over.

We had a wonderful Christmas, and spent quality time with friends and family, it was good, I received so many nice gifts, my dear husband got me a new Dell laptop, bright red. Then my son bought me a Oster, I cook and bake so much it was the perfect gift for his mom whom he knows so well, it is so nice and I will certainly enjoy using it. God has blessed us this year, with joy unspeakable, and so much grace and glory, he is the best friend I have ever had, and I so enjoy serving him.

Our church was down yesterday, some out of town, some sick, I am hoping after the first of the year things will pick up, and others will come and join with us, God has to give the increase, we can go on visitation, and invite folks, and tell them about Jesus, but God has to bring them in, we have had some visitors, and praying they come back and spend time with us again, that they will love it there and join in to help serve the lord with us.
I hope you have a wonderful New Year, and that God blesses each of my blogging friends abundantly.
