Today Is The Day

My husband is having his throat biopsy today, and we are claiming these verses, God knows
all about what is going on in his throat, so he will guide the Surgeons hand in the surgery.
We have trusted him for all things for over 40 years, just would not know how not to trust
him for this, so if you will pray with me, and ask God's hand of grace on my dear husband.
I am must appreciative for you all that pray, God bless you.

Psalms 118:24 " This is the day which the lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."
Romans 8:28 " And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called according to his purpose.

The Heavens Declare the Glory of God

A dazzling aurora light show amazed skywatchers across North America, from Canada to Arkansas, and other northern regions Monday night (Oct. 24), painting the sky with striking green and even rare red hues.
The aurora display, also known as the northern lights, was touched off by a wave charged particles unleashed by a massive sun storm on Saturday, which took two days to reach Earth.

Truly the heavens are telling us about our awesome and magnificent God. He is absolutely dependable in keeping the universe in perfect order. The meteorologists can tell exactly what minute the sun will rise and set each day. God is always on schedule-never a moment to early or a moment to late.
When our lives seem chaotic, we must remember they are right on schedule by God's clock. "For he performeth the thing that is appointed to me" (Job 23:14).
I hope you enjoyed this, I remember as a  child think WOW lookie what God has done, the faith of a
child is open and pure, seeing things the way God intended for us all to see his work, be blessed my
friend, and may we all give God the glory he deserves.

Marvellous Monday

It was a good day all day yesterday, I am tired today, and on my lap top this morning, the key board is different than my pc and I type different even. I hooked up my wireless mouse so it does seem easier to me. I still like my other pc better, but it is running slow, gets me aggravated so using this to stay calm, lol.  Well I have down loaded the Google Chrome and it is really running good now, fast as I need. Yeah
my baby girl told me about it and I took her advice, I had it once before and did not
like it, but now my computer is sailing, will go back to using it again.

We did not see anyone saved, but lots of seeds planted in all the services, they do hear the word. Many have been saved from the time we started the bus ministry, and now
my dh does the Jr church, and we give an invitation after each service too. So keep
praying that all the dear children we bring in will be saved, they hear the word, and I
know that we need to reach the parents to really make a big impact in their lives, they
hear the wonderful truth of Jesus on Sunday, and Wednesday and the rest of the
week I am sure it must be terrible for so many of them. I know that loving them, and
telling them of the wonders of Christ will make a big difference in years to come.

Hope you have a good day, I am resting, and will do very little, doncha love them days.

For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name,

because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
Mark 9:41
Working with children and loving them and giving them treats and such certainly brings its rewards, both here and in heaven. All who work with them, be blessed for you are very special, and you are so very loved by our heavenly Father. I hope you have a marvellous Monday, and new week to come. Lots of hugs

Claiming Romans 8:28

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

Well at five pm last evening the surgery was cancelled; it seem Chuck's primary did not okay the surgery, he seen that his heart rate was slow, (it always has been slow, he what is called an altheletes heart a hard steady slow beat) if he had bother to check his records he would of seen this. Not sure why this is happening but God knows, and
as always God is in control.

Chuck has always had this, nothing new, well he is very upset with this doctor and his ways, he has an appointment for the 18th to see him, and after he gets the approved signed he will tell him he is looking for another doctor, unless of course he found something else wrong in the EKG. So for now it is put on hold until all things get worked out, and so once again we claim Romans 8:28, sure claim it much since we have gotten older, and slower heehee, but it still hold true, ALL things.

So my beloved friends, I hope you have a wonderful weekend, that God blesses
your socks off, and then gives you a new pair, amen, and amen, Yes God is good
yeppers all the time.

Tuesday X's Two

Yep the second Tuesday of the month of October, wow time is flying by, seems like yesterday was Spring, now Spring has passed, Summer has passed, and Fall is here, soon Winter will be here, are you ready for all this change? I am not able to catch up for some reason, and now winter will be here soon, and it reminds me of how fast life does pass by. Just as the seasons come and go years pass just as quickly, one of the first verses I remembered was James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. I did not understand it much back then, (I was in my youth) now I see exactly what it was saying, and it has passed too quickly, thank God I was saved, or I may of missed that opportunity to be in the Rapture when it comes.

I see so many of the scriptures in reality now, I suppose I am in the Winter of my life, not sure what age group that entails, but I know I am not a Spring Chicken, that is a fact, lol. So as I see this month slip away I see it as one day closer as to be with my Jesus, the time is fast approaching, and I am glad I know where I will spend eternity.

You have a blessed Tuesday, and not sure why I thought of this, just old age setting in and seeing day by day in a different light.

Sharing It Saturday

It is a cool drizzling day here in Southern Georgia, we are having what is know
as North Easters, it rains and the Ocean is churning and it is a very windy and
cool time here in Florida and Southern Ga. Our weather is much like Northern
Florida, in fact we get our local news from Jacksonville, FL we do not have a
news channel for this area.

It has been a busy week, my husband went Thursday for all his pre-testing for
the surgery he will have October 14th, he has a lesion in his throat and they will
remove it and do a biopsy on it. It is rather common among preachers, and he
has been preaching for over 35 years now, the vocal cords get strained many
times through the times of preaching, the hardest part will be keeping him down
for 3 days, and not talking, I need to get him one of those white boards to write
on for this time. Please keep him in prayer this week, and me too, I am not feeling
great either, my back and stomach is bothering me, seems every fall I suffer with
the stomach, and the wet weather is making my RA act up and I am hurting.

It has been a long week, one night we did go shrimping down at the docks, we caught
a lot of shrimp and wanting to catch even more before the season ends. We freeze
them and use them for fishing all year round. Salt water fish love shrimp, so we
can catch a mess of fish with a few shrimp. My husband likes to eat them too, I am
not much on sea food, only certain types of fish I even eat, and the Snow crabs or Dungeness crabs, now I can put them away.

I have this scrumptious recipe and it is so good so going to share with all my friends
here, hope you try it, and all your family will love it too, I will be making it for
Thanksgiving too, my family will love it, I know they love anything chocolate. So
here is  the recipe.

Chocolate Turtle Cake

1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® devil's food cake mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
1 bag (14 oz) caramels
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 cup chopped pecans
1 bag (6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
Ice cream or Whipped cream, if desired
Caramel and chocolate toppings,
Chopped pecans, if desired

Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan).

Grease or spray bottom of 13x9-inch pan.

Make cake batter as directed on box. Pour half of the batter into pan.

Bake 22 minutes. Refrigerate remaining batter.

Meanwhile, in 1-quart saucepan, heat caramels and evaporated milk over medium heat, stirring frequently, until caramels are melted. Stir in pecans. Pour caramel mixture over warm cake in pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Spread with remaining batter. Bake 25 to 28 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Run knife around sides of pan to loosen cake. Cool at least 30 minutes. Serve with ice cream, drizzle with toppings and sprinkle with pecans. Store loosely covered.
This recipe was great - very rich!! I probably added a bit more than 1/2 a bag of chocolate chips, you can't ever have too much chocolate, right? ha. I also would have sprayed the sides of the pan after baking the bottom half and before adding the caramel. The caramel/pecan mixture really stuck to my cake pan and it was kind of hard to get the cake out. I even loosened the sides right after baking as recommended, but it still stuck a bit.

Butter Baked Pumpkin Seeds

2 c. pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
1 tsp. salt

Spread seeds on a cookie sheet and let dry overnight. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Combine butter and salt and toss with seeds. Bake for 50 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes until seeds are lightly browned.  Sounds really good, my youngest daughter
loves these pumpkin seeds.

•Drinking From the Well of Living Water•

The Bible mentions water over and over again, Sometimes, water is simply water.
Quite often, though, Scriptures uses water as a picture of the Holy Spirit. Consider
John 7:37-38, this records Christ's own words: "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." This thirst Jesus mentions here is so much more than physical thirst. It's the longing for relief from all the hurt sin has brought into our world. It's the longing for a personal conflict to finally end. It's the soul's cry for justice or an aching body's plea for a peaceful night's rest. Most of , it's the guilt-ridden heart wondering if Gof will really forgive- again. That's real thirst.

Are you really thristing for those rivers of living water? Do you truly believe that Jesus can fill your soul and restore your hope with peace, healing and giving strength for each day. HE CAN, and HE WILL just trust in him.

Fabulous Fall Friday

Wow another week is rolling by, they are going just to fast for me to keep up with. I am so thankful for all the wonderful blessings in my life, and most of all the salvation God has given so freely, how much he love you and me, what unconditional love he has for us, all the time, not just at times when he feels like it but all the time, any time we can go to him, and get a full cup of strength, or love, or any thing we are in need of. I hope you have a great day. Pray for a lady at our church, she is a dear woman, she had cancer a year ago, and now she has another mass in her lung. Thank you all for being great prayer warriors and so willing to pray for others. God bless you and have a great Thrusday. Philippians 4:6 "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God".

Sweet Potato Puff

2 cups mashed sweet potato
2 tablespoons butter
salt and pepper
1/4 cup milk or cream
1 egg

To the mashed potatoes add the melted butter, seasonings and milk.
Beat the egg yolk and white separately, add the yolk to the potato
mixture and then fold in the white. Bake in one dish or in individual
molds until puffy and brown.

A Few Salt Tips

A pinch of salt improves the flavor of cocoa
.

To remove grease stains in clothing, mix one part salt to four parts alcohol.

Salt and lemon juice removes mildew.

Sprinkle salt between sidewalk bricks where you don't want grass growing.

Polish your old kerosene lamp with salt for a brighter look. Remove odors from sink drainpipes with a strong, hot solution of salt water.

If a pie bubbles over in your oven, put a handful of salt on top of the spilled juice. The mess won't smell and will bake into a dry, light crust which will wipe off easily when the oven has cooled.

Have a fabulous Friday, and have a blessed weekend.

Wonderful Wednesday

It has been a while since I posted, and I have been meaning almost
daily to come in and update, I am feeling better, and my dh
neck is able to function again, it was a long week of illness for us
both, and I am happy it is over. Now I ask for prayer for my
husband again. He seen the doctor yesterday, and he has a legion
on his throat, he will go in for a biopsy on the 14th of Oct, so if
you would please keep him in prayer, and that it will be just torn
muscle from preaching all these years, but always praying God's
magnificent will be done also. Thank you a head of time.

Well besides that we are doing well, and staying very busy doing
the work that God has called us to. I had bought some beef ribs
last shopping trip, and wanted to make short ribs and rice like my
mom used to make, well I did not have a clue, so asked my sister
she had never made them either, and I tried to find a recipe, well
I could not find a recipe that seemed like I wanted either, so I just
went ahead and made them the way I thought they should be, well
they were out of this world, and my husband just loved them, I will
be making them again soon, so here is what I did, and the recipe
to make them yourself.

1 pound of Beef Short Ribs
2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1 medium Onion
4 Beef bullion Cubes
5 cups of water
and 1 cup of rice

Now I put about two tablespoons of Canola oil in  pot
and browned and seared the beef on all sides, salted to
taste, then I  added the onion, and let it tender, when it
was ready Iadded the 5 cups of water, then when boiling
I added bullion cubes. It simmered for about 2 hours, I took
out the meat, poured off the water,(saving) and then added back
two cups of the broth and the 1 cup of rice, added
the beef back to mixture, and let it cook down til the rice
was done. WAHLAH it was scrumptious, best meal
ever, I had french bread with it, and some slaw, my dh
just raved about it. SO I have a new dish to serve often.
I hope try it, and make it for your family, they will love
it I am sure.
I have enough broth to make some noodles too. Sorry
I did not take any photos of them.
Hope you all have a wonderful week, and I hope to be
on the computer more now. God bless you real good.

Have a Wonderful Day, Barbara
