May God Bless America

Daddy's Poem - A must read!

Her hair was up in a pony tail,
Her favorite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy's Day at school,
And she couldn't wait to go.

But her mommy tried to tell her,
That she probably should stay home
Why the kids might not understand,
If she went to school alone.

But she was not afraid;
She knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
Of why he wasn't there today.

But still her mother worried,
For her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
She tried to keep her daughter home.

But the little girl went to school
Eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees,
A dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in
Back, for everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently,
Anxious in their seats.

One by one the teacher called
A student from the class.
To introduce their daddy,
As seconds slowly passed.

At last the teacher called her name,
Every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching,
A man who wasn't there.

"Where's her daddy at?"
She heard a boy call out.
"She probably doesn't have one,"
Another student dared to shout.

And from somewhere near the back,
She heard a daddy say,
"Looks like another deadbeat dad,
Too busy to waste his day."

The words did not offend her,
As she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher, who
Told her to go on.

And with hands behind her back,
Slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
Came words incredibly unique.

"My Daddy couldn't be here,
Because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
Since this is such a special day.
And though you cannot meet him,
I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy,
And how much he loves me so.

He loved to tell me stories
He taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
And taught me to fly a kite.

We used to share fudge sundaes,
And ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him.
I'm not standing here alone.

"Cause my daddy's always with me,
Even though we are apart
I know because he told me,
He'll forever be in my heart"
Wthat, her little hand reached up,
And lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,
Beneath her favorite dress.

And from somewhere there in the crowd
Of dads, her mother stood in tears.
Proudly watching her daughter,

Who was wise beyond her years.
For she stood up for the love

Of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
Doing what was a right.

And when she dropped her hand back
Down, staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
But its message clear and loud.

"I love my daddy very much,
he's my shining star.
And if he could, he'd be here,
But heaven's just too far.
You see he is an American Soldier
And died just this past year
When a roadside bomb hit his convoy
And taught Americans to fear.

But sometimes when I close my eyes,
it's like he never went away."
And then she closed her eyes,
And saw him there that day.

And to her mother's amazement,
She witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
All starting to close their eyes.

Who knows what they saw before them,
who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second,
They saw him at her side.

"I know you're with me Daddy,"
to the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
of those once filled with doubt.

Not one in that room could explain it,
for each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.

And a child was blessed, if only for
a moment, by the love of her shining star.
And given the gift of believing,
that heaven is never too far.

I just had to share this, it really touched my heart on so many levels, first on quick we
are to judge others, and then how many families are there in our own community that
has lost their daddy.
They live from day to day in pain, hurt and others wondering where the daddy is, we
all need to stop right now, and thank God for his hand upon us who have our family in complete order. Pray for those wonderful men and women who lay down their life to keep our Country a safe and better place for our children, and so we can have our daddy's our husbands with us, safe and secure and loving us.
For those of you who have lost a loved one while serving their Country, God bless you and know you are not alone, we pray for you, and others are fighting right long side of your loved one. Do have a wonderful weekend, and stop to think before we speak.
God bless each one of you who read this and may we never forget them who have been lost to this war.

The Heart of the Human Being

Proverbs 4:23
Keep they heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Introduction:
The word "HEART" can be defined (figuratively)
A. ...the feelings
B. ...the will
C. ...the intellect
D. ...the very center of something
Everything has a heart in the figurative sense and I have no intention of going into the physical heart, I will leave that for the doctors.
While we will never be specialist in the field of "heart disease" we must study the Scriptures to know what God wants us to know about spiritual side of the "heart"
The bible uses the word in excess of 812 times. That fact alone shows the interest God has in spiritual matters of our heart.

I. The Thoughts of the The Heart Determine The Character of an individual.
A fleeting thought is not a thought in the heart but one's heart can get "set" on subjects that are detrimental to him because those things become his character. Here is the illustration Solomon presented"
     (Proverbs 23:7)

II. The attitude of the Heart Determines the Words
of Thy Mouth.
To try to be anything other than what you are is hypocrisy. By nature we are sinners. We must admit to that fact. Therefore, we must claim the righteousness of Jesus Christ for our own righteousness lest we should none to claim.
     (Luke 6:45)
The conversion of our hearts will transform the words of our mouths.
     (Matthew 6:19-21)

IV. The condition of the Heart Determines the
Destiny of the Soul.
     (Romans 10:10)
Faith in Jesus is the doorway to salvation and to Heaven as well.

Concluding Thoughts:
A.  The Natural Heart Needs To Be "Pricked"
By The Gospel.
     (Acts 2:36:37)
B.   The Natural Heart Needs To Repent Of His Sins.
     (Acts 2:38-39)
C.   The Natural Heart Needs To Become Receptive
To The Word of God.
     (Acts 2:41)
D.   The Hearts That Repents Are The Ones That Are
Saved!
      (Acts 2:47)
Has Your heart changed?
Are you able to offer a testimony concerning your salvation?
Do you know in your heart that you are truly saved?

Friday Flicks
I found these boots at a gardening shop
online, I just love them, and they keep my
feet dry and warm in all my little trips out
to the hen house, you think they will make
the hens happy seeing all the roosters?

Now for my flowers in bloom, the first one is when
it first started opening, the second is when it
was in full bloom, are they not so pretty, I always
forget the name of them, but they are not a
common plant, I have separated them and put
each in a new pot, hopefully I can put them in the
ground next Spring, and they will do good.

The sun is shinning today, finally, we were out in
the rain all day yesterday, going from place to place
today we are home, and the sun is shinning, I do
love the sunshine, and our green beans are getting
really big after all the rain, and now the sun.

Well I hope you have a very blessed weekend, and
know that God is near what ever you do, or where
ever you go, he is just a prayer away.
Be blessed my friends, Be a blessing. ♥

Wednesday Wonderful Words

Well Spring is in the air, and God's loveliness is all around us.
We see his new growth, and new beginnings, Spring is my
favorite season. You know God loved Spring too, he mentioned it in 22 verses in the Bible, even though some of those verses were not the season, but made in speech.

Ecc 3:1 "To everything there is season; and a time to every purpose under heaven"

This verse says it all, everything there is a season, I have found that so true in life, so many things we read in the
holy word of God, we see in every day living, I have lived
many years, and many seasons and have seem very much of this wonderful world God created. I live to tell and share with others what God has allowed in my life, how he helped me to grow into the woman I am today, how he is
forever there and helping us in our daily chores. I found
many years ago that with some prayer our days will go so much better, than if we just rush into things, stop and pray
ask our heavenly Father to help you with the tasks at hand,
you will find how easy things go then on.

I seen that little photo it just pictured this time of year, for some reason Spring depicts bunnies and chicks, and I am
thinking it is the newness of the season. Animals even know the season, all young are born in the Spring, and then have a while to grow and get strong before the Winter comes.

I say I am in the Deep Winter of my years, I feel very young
but in all reality it is Winter for me, at least late Fall, lol but I will be forever Young at heart. There used to be an old song called Young at Heart, it was a wonderful old song, and had such meaning to it. Sung by Frank Sinatra

Young At Heart

Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you

If you’re young at heart
For it’s hard, you will find, to be narrow of mind
If you’re young at heart

You can go to extremes with impossible schemes
You can laugh when your dreams fall apart at the seams
And life gets more exciting with each passing day
And love is either in your heart or on it’s way
Don’t you know that it’s worth every treasure on earth
To be young at heart

For as rich as you are it’s much better by far
To be young at heart

And if you should survive to 105
Look at all you’ll derive out of being alive
Then here is the best part
You have a head start
If you are among the very young at heart

And if you should survive to 105
Look at all you’ll derive out of being alive
Then here is the best part
You have a head start
If you are among the very young at heart

So remember to sing unto the lord, and enjoy your wonderful season of Spring,
the lord hath made just for us to enjoy.. Be blessed,
and be a blessing.

Monday Madness

The Sun going down over my
front yard.

My first rose of Spring so pretty

The Green Beans coming up good
they should bring a good crop.

The pretty Orange Trumpets, I know
Spring is here when they bloom

It have been a good day, we went to Penny's and Bought a new pair of dress shoes, Bone instead of black or white, that way I can wear them all year round.
Then we went to Good will, I found two purses and nice pair of shoes never been wore before,  I seen why when I got them home, the one shoe had been built up for someone who had one leg shorter than the other, well my dh is trying to remove it without ruining the shoe. He is such a dear and can fix about anything fixable. Oh my he just showed me he has gotten it all off, and the sole is perfect, amen, God is so good, and he give me such a wonderful husband too.
We also stopped at our favorite Chinese Restaurant and had lunch, they have the best Chinese food in Brunswick, any where around this area in fact, it was good, so now I am home full, and feeling mighty good, how was your day dear blogging buddies?  Hope you all have a very blessed day.

Friday's Poem

Judge Gently

Pray, don't find fault with the man
who limps or stumbles along the road
Unless you have worn the shoes he wears,
or struggled beneath his load.
There may be tacks in his shoes that hurt,
though hidden away from view,
Or the burden he bears..placed on your back,
might cause you to stumble too.
Don't sneer at the man who's down today,
unless you have felt the blow
That caused his fall or felt the shame
that only the fallen know.
You may be strong, but still the blows
that were his, if dealt to you,
In the selfsame way at the selfsame time
might cause you to stagger too.
Don't be too harsh with the man who sins
or pelt him with word or stone
Unless you are sure...Ye doubly sure
that you have no sins of your own.
For you know, perhaps, if the tempters voice
should whisper as softly to you
As it did to him when he went astray
It could cause to to falter too.

This was in my Electric bill under family features, it speaks loudly, and carries a very heavy message, it touched my heart and I hope it touches yours also. God bless you my dear friends and I pray your day is touched by the Master's hand, and that he leads you into paths of righteousness, be blessed. But more importantly be a blessing...

Wonderful Wispering Wednesday

Do we sit still long enough to hear that still small voice speaking to us, remember when Samuel was sleeping and the lord called unto him, he thought it is was Eli calling him, but it was God in his still small voice, and when God talked to Elijah he knew it was the lord, and he listened,

And the lord called... occurs in 140 verses in the KJV of the Bible, how many times have you heard that still small voice and really listened to what he was saying? I love these verses in Kings, and Elijah was a true man of God, but he was a man, he had his bad moments too, he whined and cried just as we do at times, but God supplied his every need. Look at these verses and stop and ask God, what are you trying to say to me lord?

1Kings 19:12 "And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a a still small voice.

1Ki 19:13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, [there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?

1Kings 19:14 "And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away."

1King 19:15 "And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:"

I would love to say I always hear my lord calling my name, but some times my mind is on other things, and I hurry through prayer and go about what I am doing, oh me, shame on me, that I should ever have anything more important than talking to the lord. I ask you Lord to forgive me right now before I go on, I am sorry, I do not always listen, thank you for being such a loving and caring God that you forgive.

I so remember that day he called my name, and I said like Isaiah Here I am lord, and he touched me in a way that I have never been the same again, I ran long and hard not to hear that voice of God, but I got tired, and stopped, and I listened to what he had to say, he said come unto me, I will give you rest, and he has, he said he would never leave or forsake me, he said he went to prepare a place for me, that place is in heaven, and when I die I know I will go to be with him, and every day of my life for the last 36 years he has been talking to me, leading me, giving me direction. Oh thank you lord for that still small voice you speak to me in, no one else hears, it is for me alone, our sweet love talks, thank you lord for keeping with me, when others may of let me down, you were always there, and I know you always will be there through the end. Like what you have promised me in Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psa 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

Psa 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Psa 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Psa 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Psa 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

I leave you with these thoughts, God is always there, listen to his still small voice, he loves you and wants to talk to you today. Let him whisper sweet peace to you, have a glorious Wednesday.

Tasty Tuesday

Hummmmmm so what's cookin' today?

Do you have any good recipes you would like to share with me today? I am going to make this cake for Saturday, and fixing potatoe salad too. The cake is soooooo good, Becky if you read this stop by Saturday at 4 for dinner before services.

Punch Bowl Cake

Ingredients

1 box yellow cake mix
3 eggs, for the cake
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 box vanilla pudding mix
2 cups milk, for the pudding
1 large can cherry pie filling
1 large can crushed pineapple
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 tub whipped topping
1 big ol' punchbowl

Preparation
Make yellow cake according to the instructions on the box and allow to cool. While it's cooling, go ahead a make the vanilla pudding according to the instructions on the box and cool it in the fridge as well to set up.

When cake is cooled and pudding is set up you are ready to get started full speed, baby! Crumble the first half of your yellow cake into the punch bowl – mixed sizes of chunks are fine, but don't make them too small if you can help it.

Begin layering in half the vanilla pudding, half the cherry pie filling, half the pineapple and a few pinches of nuts, then cover this layer with whipped cream. Next, crumble the second half of the yellow cake and repeat. Once completely topped with the rest of the whipped cream, sprinkle the remaining nuts over the top.

Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 12-24 hours.

After that...ENJOY!!! You will impress everyone that eats it.
