June is here, the beginning of summer, and it is hot in Southern Georgia.
The children are either out of school or getting close, what will your summer hold? The month of June is known for the Bridal month, every young girl dreams of a wedding in June. Probably half the marriages performed are in June, I am thinking this would make a good devotional for this month. Some have an anniversary this month, so you can really relate then. I do pray that you will have a blessed summer, and stay healthy and happy. Put God first in all you do.
First we are gonna talk about being a bride, I think we all can remember the excitement of those times, planning our wedding, making sure the guest list is done, choosing that beautiful White Dress, looking in the mirror and seeing this young girl who is about to become a married woman all the dreams and thoughts that go through our minds, in getting things ready for that big day. A little scared, and even fearful to some, wondering if the groom will show up. But even after 48 years of marriage I still remember my wedding as if it were yesterday.
Then finally it is here, and we are standing beside the man that we will spend the rest of our life with, looking into his handsome face, and just so filled with love and adoration for him. Very soon we will say those special words, I do, I do love you, I do commit my life to you, I do I do I do...
Now lets think a little deeper, and a little more spiritual, lets talk about the Bride and Groom to come. All of us that are in Christ through his salvation, and regeneration of his Spirit, are his Bride, are we as excited about becoming his birde as we were our human Groom? Can we hardly wait to see him? Do we sit in awe looking at his word, picturing his dear face, and excited about the special things he has planned for us, Oh I hope you do, my earnest longing is to be with Christ, to be like him, and live with him forever.
All Believers will be married to Christ, Are we so anxious for that day to come that we pray come quickly Lord, Come quickly? Let us rejoice and exalt the name of Jesus, and give Him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready; to her it has been granted to be clothed with fine linen, bright and pure, for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he said to me, "These are true words of God" (Revelation 19:7-9).
Since in heaven there will be not death, there is no need for husband and wife relations. There is no need for the population growth of humanity since there will be no adding or subtracting to the number in heaven. Since Jesus emphasized there will be no marrying in heaven, then marital relations seems to be something that is absent. Whatever God has planned for believers will be something far better than anything we can imagine. The Bible says, However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him"
1 Corinthians 2:9).
The resurrected state will be God-centered, not human-centered. The emphasis will be upon God, not humanity. Therefore many of the questions that we presently have about heaven will not be issues once we come into the presence of God. Marriage, as we know it, is not necessary in heaven because there is no need for continuing the race. The number of people in heaven will not increase or decrease - it will remain the same. Believers will be married to Christ and have even deeper relationships than we have ever experienced on the earth. We will live forever, no sickness no heartache no loosing loved ones, Oh I say Come Quickly my Beloved come Quickly.
Have a very blessed month of June, stay healthy, happy and wise. Obey the Lord.
