Friday Fall Flicks

My table is set for Fall, and I have a some Fall Decor set around already, you ask why so early, Well as you know I am having surgery the 20th of September, and I may not feel like putting up my things after that, so thought I would get a head start on it, I took a few photos and thought you may enjoy looking at them, I love my new table cloth and place mats, they are unique and say it all. Hope you enjoy and see how wonderful the lord is in all he puts in our path.

This was a Paper Mache Pumpkin my dear husband made for the bus Ministry back in the 80's
he give out candy and had quite an experience too, he had his hands inside of this pumpkin, and was
holding a plastic pumpkin full of candy, well some of the older kids spun him around, and took his candy, lol it was too funny, not much he could do being inside this huge pumpkin, he could barely see, we still laugh
about this to this very day.

Have a really blessed weekend, and know Jesus loves you, and so do I..
Psalm 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Thankful Thursday

Psalms 119:27 Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.

Wow I have so very much to be thankful for, I have lead a blessed life, It seems God has poured out his blessings on me since I can remember, from the time he sent a wonderful young couple to adopt me and love me as their own, to now when he holds my hand daily in all I do, oh me Lord God you have been so good to me, I know I can trust the lord, he has never failed me or let me down one time in 67 years, whewwww what a track record he has, mine for him is sure not that good or any where near, I am ashamed to say I have let my precious lord down before, I have turned my back on him, and gotten mad at him, but he did correct me, and used the rod of correction upon me, I can honestly say, He is in my life forever, my earnest prayer is that he will keep me close by his side, in his will for ever, if I start to have a pity party, I think now my lord sure went through a lot more hurt, rejection, and pain than I ever had, and he carried out the will of his father, he went all the way to the cross for me, how can I quit half way through on him.

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Now please lord give me the zeal, and the will keep on going for you, telling every one in my path what you have did for me, and just what you can do for them as well.  God is no respector of persons, he is always just waiting to help one of us in need, he is always just a prayer away, many time we do not have what we want because we simply do not ask, Jesus said ask and ye shall receive, so that tells me if I do not have, it is because I have not asked, just as we give gifts to our children our heavenly Father is ready and waiting to give his children the gifts of love, obedience, faithfulness, and the assurance that we will one day be with him in heaven.

WOW he is so awesome, and one day I will sit at his feet in awe, and let him speak to me in person, and not only through his written word, oh I am so ready for that day, but my father still has a word for me to do, and I will be the obedient child and go about my fathers business while I can.  Now let me ask, will take the message God has given you to the world around you, will you be an obedient child?

♥Happy Birthday To Me♥

Well 67 years ago today a little girl was born, now this little girl grew up to be a woman, she married her high school sweetheart, they had 5 children, and now have 11 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. But the most important date was not September 1, but July 18, 1974, that was the day I was born again, and I have never been the same sense.

So with all this said, I am here to tell you I am too old to die young now... So I will choose to live for Christ all the days of my life, no matter how long that may be, 10 years or 50 we never know the time God will call us home. But thanks to Jesus Christ I am ready to meet God, and ready pass from death unto life eternal, and to be with him eternally. So today my B-day, I have a few scriptures to share with you, so read with me this holy word God has given to us women of age.
Psa 71:9 "Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth."
Psa 92:14 "They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;"
Isa 46:4 "And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
The lord has promises here, and he is still blessing me at 67, I
know he will continue to be my constant companion on this  journey of life God has so graciously given to me, he is with my every step, and he upholds me with his right hand.
Our dear lord talks many times about the aged, just like in Titus 2:3 "The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;"
Titus 2:4 "That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,"
Titus 2:5 "To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. "
We aged women have an awesome responsibility to the younger women, God tells us to teach them in his ways, to show by example how to be Godly women, and how to serve the lord,  how to take care of our own husbands and children.
My children are all grown, and I must admit I messed up many times in raising them, but God leads and we must as parents follow his leading, if not, we end with unruly and wild children; we need to show them the love of God, we cannot be unloving and expect them to be loving, children are what they are taught.
So as I leave you today, just think on these things, what are we teaching and training our children today? Is it to be modest, and well clothed, to be loving and care for others, to be keepers of the home and family instead of the bread winners? I never worked outside the home, until my children were grown, we never had much money, but we lived within our means, and that made it possible for me to stay home and train my own children.
It is rough these days, but if you keep within your means you still can do it, keep your eyes on Christ, and let him lead you, when you see that new dress think do I really need that, the answer is usually no, most of us have very full closets and do not need another piece of clothing.  So I will close with those thoughts.
Today is the first day of September, 2010, wow, fall is here, and so many wonderful things will happen in this season. The leaves
will start to change soon, and the animals will be trying to put up the nuts and acorns for winter, we can take a few lessons from them, to prepare our own homes for the winter, to put up things we can and to have our homes comfortable to begin our long winter struggle. Have a wonderful day, this day the lord hath given me breath, made it possible for me to touch so many lives in the years I have lived, one thing I hope is said of me, and that is that others could see Christ when they looked at me. I
never gained lots of money or fame, but to my family I am the core, so are you. Lots of hugs and blessings.

♥ Marvellous Monday ♥

I had such a wonderful weekend, first the ladies Jubilee was fabulous, such great speaking at the Jubilee, the drive was such fun, and we had sweet fellowship all the way, the speakers were so precious, and had such a sweet Spirit they spoke with such a peace of God on them. It was great, we ate such good food too, them of that church fixed and served us ladies, now tell me isn't that just too sweet. The long trip really bothered my legs, and by evening I was in severe pain, so I went to bed early, and got up early for church on Sunday.  I still was in much pain, and suffered most of the day, but God was so good and he showed me that the pain I go through was nothing compared to what my Saviour went through.
That did make me feel better, knowing that Jesus took my sin upon himself, and went through such agonizing pain, for me.

Read Isaiah 53, and this verse 5 "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."

This really tells all he did for us, the day we accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour, he wrote our name down in the lamb's  book of life, God has my name, as he has everyone that has accepted Jesus Christ written down in that book. We sang this song last night at church, and it touched my heart, and really got me thinking on how God knows my name, he knows every hair on my head, and he knows my heart. Look at the words to this song, and let it touch your heart the same way it has touched mine, God sees an importance in names, and he sees an importance in writing things down, Just look at the Chronicles whew all those names, we hurry over them at times, and say, I sure wish God would of named them something easy, but just think, every one of those names is a soul, a soul that Jesus died for, and that God wrote in his lamb's book of life. Now do you think differently about all those funny names, maybe we will not skim over them so fast next time we are reading, and lets think how we would feel if God took our name off that roll, so lets know God has a purpose, that in our little minds we may never figure out, but He is almighty God, an Omnipotent and what he writes really counts, and I am so happy that my name is written down in his book of life.   So here are the words to:

I know My Name Is There

My name is in the book of Life,

Oh, bless the name of Jesus;
I rise above all doubt and strife,
And read my title clear.

Refrain:

I know, I know,
My name is there;
I know, I know,
My name is written there.

My name once stood with sinners lost,
And bore a painful record;
But by His blood the Savior crossed,
And placed it on His roll.

Yet inward trouble often cast,
A shadow o’er my title;
But now with full salvation blest,
Praise God! it’s ever clear.

While others climb through worldly strife
To carve a name of honor,
High up in heaven’s book of Life,
My name is written there.

Did that touch your soul, praise God my name is there, and I know that I know my name is written there, God himself wrote it down, and no one can ever erase it. Thank you for sharing with me today, and seeing the wonderful importance in a name.

God bless you and your efforts to serve him, and have a glorious day.

Barbara's Babblings

Well good morning, or guess I should say noon, I have really thinking on somethings here lately, what is truly important to me as I age I see the importance of things other than things. Doing for others, helping others in their time of need, telling them of my Christ that gets me through the toughest times. Yesterday I put up 14 half pint jars and containers of pears. They come out really good, then I made some Chocolate Chip with Walnut cookies, they are so good, and always a hit here, my dear husband really loves them, his favorite were peanut butter cookies, but he is allergic to peanut anything now, go figure at 68 years old he develops allergies. Oh well just a few of the things that go wrong with age.
Here is inside my freezer you can see some of my goodies I have stored for the winter months. Then next the cookies, yum yum good.

You always need a good glad of Iced tea to wash down those
cookies, lol so of course I had some, with lemon too. Nothing
better than tea, if you were here I would share it with you and
give you some jam to take home too.

Okay tomorrow I will not be posting, I am leaving at 6:00 AM
going to a ladies Jubilee in Statesboro, GA a couple hours from
here, it is almost in Savannah, going with a dear friend of mine, so I know we will spend hours of sweet fellowship going and coming.
I am excited about going too, been so long since I have been to anything like that, I used to go all the time when In Florida, but here seems I never get the chance. So keep me in your prayers too, for driving mercy, and that I will sop up like a sponge everything taught in these lessons.

So last but not least, I have a date for my surgery, it will be done September 20th, at Brunswick Regional Hospital, I will have a
complete knee replacement, and will stay a few days, then probably come home and go to rehabilitation daily, that part is still not clear but all the rest is. So my birthday will be over September 1st, and our Golden Anniversary will be past, 10th and then on to becoming a new woman, giggles, yeah new parts consists of becoming a new woman right. Too bad it was not a face lift instead of a knee replacement, I would be much cuter then, lol oh me vanity of vanities right.  So that is it in a nut shell, you have a wonderful weekend and keep me in your prayers, I may not post again til Monday, we will see, be blessed and be a blessing to others.
Lots of love, and prayers.

Thankful Thursday

Well the summer is winding down, soon the Apples will be in the markets, the pears are in now, and all the fall things will return to the shelves, I love fall, the temperatures cool down and the leaves start falling, and turning gorgeous color, it is a good season, yet my favorite is still Spring, when all new life appears after a long cold winter, but I love the season change.  I am thankful that God set up the seasons the way he did, just as we tire of one, another one appears. God is so good.

It does make me think of the Scripture too:
John 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then
cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
It is the season of harvest, and may we never forget this statement made in John, it is important to get
the crops in, but it is so important to get all the souls in the
flock we can too, it is something all Christians can do, tell
others what Christ did for you, it does not have to be some long Theologians speech, simply tell them how you got saved, how Christ touched your heart and life.

Today I am making pear freezer jam, it is a first for
me but I love pears, a lady give me a bunch of them, so will try it, I may make some pear relish too, I have a good recipe for it.
I am thankful on the this day that I am still able to do the things I love, and that my surgery will be over soon, and I will feel so much better, and will be able to stand for long periods of time, something I cannot do now. I thank each of you for your prayers, and for coming daily to hear me rant, and babble on, lol it is assuring that I do not stand alone, that many ladies love doing the same things I do.
You have a blessed Thursday, and see ya tomorrow.

Tasty Tuesday

Fish, cornmeal and Hush Puppy Batter.

I love the red bass, so what I am fixing is breaded and fried red bass.

Ingredients
1 egg
1 1/2 cups water
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound bass fillets
2 cups crushed cornflake crumbs
1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
1 quart oil for frying

Directions
In a medium bowl, beat together egg, water, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Place fish in the bowl, and thoroughly coat with the mixture.

In a separate medium bowl, mix the cornflake crumbs and Cajun seasoning. Dip the fish in the crumb mixture, and thoroughly coat all sides.

In a large, heavy skillet or deep fryer, heat the oil to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C). Fry the fish until golden brown, and flesh is easily flaked with a fork.

You can find the recipe for great hushpuppies on your Martha White Flour bag, I always add onion to mine too.

Shread some cabbage and a carrot, a little onion and make a good slaw to go with it, deep fry a few FF and walla you have a fabulous fish dinner.
Enjoy your dinner, and I use a simple Vinegar/sugar/and Mayo mixture for slaw. Fix according to your own taste. You can buy the dressing already prepared too, it is very good.

Today is the day I will find out when and where my surgery will be, and we will go eat dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant in Brunswick, Keep me in your prayers please, so tell me now, what will you eat this Tasty Tuesday?

Hope your day is a great one, and God blesses you.

Marvellous Monday

Ponce, Puerto Rico

Looking out over the Caribbean, it has the most
beautiful waters I have ever seen.

This was the place on the Caribbean, in Ponce,
Puerto Rico, we stayed for several weeks, it was
a wonderful place, and a place I would love to visit
once again, if the chance arises.

Driving the highways and looking into the hills, you
see little shacks all over, and it has the most beautiful
rain forests the eyes can behold, oh what beauty my
eyes have see, God has blessed us tremendously in our
Ministry.

WOW...Breath taking beauty as we sat on the dock
and watched the sun go down, the colors were so much
more beautiful that this photo shows, a camera can
never replace the beauty of the real thing. man tries to
imitate what God has created, but he does not come close.
We had a wonderful time, we flew into San Juan, then rented
a car and drove about 90 I think it was to Ponce, this was
back in 1987 and the place has really grown, and populated more since our time spent there.

So tell me, is your day Marvellous, if not look up, is Jesus still on the throne? Well then it sure is a marvellous day isn't it, no matter how bad things get in this world, God is able to care for us, and we have his written promises to console us in a time of need, now lets stop and take a deep breath, and let God talk to you, then ask him for his help in all you do today, in all you must face today, and with all you will attempt to do for him, his grace is sufficient indeed, proven, tested, and banked on..Hugs my dear friends, have a blessed day, and do remember no matter what you are going through, Jesus went through more, and is still singing God's praises.

Scriptures For Sunday

Jesus The Light Of The World

Praise God it is the Lord's day again, and after missing Wednesday night due to illness I am so ready to be in church tomorrow. The hand of God reaches way down some times for us, and when you are sick and down he just whispers such sweet things to us, and points us to the scripture he wants us to read, and then he really blesses us when we do read. WOW he is an awesome God. Jesus Christ is THE LIGHT!

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not" (John 1:1-5).

The darkness comprehended it not! Adam's sin has darkened our eyes (passed from generation to generation). You can really relate to that this world is a very dark place full of killings and rapes and theft, sin causes man to do these things,We are as dead men walking around. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" (Romans 5:12). One day, Old DEATH will grab you by the shoulder for a little journey. Are you ready? What direction are you going, my friend?

The BIBLE (the King James Version) is God's Word in the English language. You can count on it. Jesus Christ is THE LIGHT. Jesus Christ came to this earth two thousand years ago, so that people … like you and I … might believe. This was the witness of John the Baptist. He was the forerunner of our blessed Savior. "The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the light, that all men through him might believe" (John 1:7).

Every lost man and woman will be without excuse at the Great White Throne Judgment. Romans 1:20 makes that plain. Do you want to argue with God over the matter? Go ahead if you want to, but I will fear for you, my friend. The very creation of the world which is understood "by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead" renders man, so that he "is without excuse" concerning Jesus Christ being that Light.

"That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world" (John 1:9).

Every man has or will seen that Light shine, and every man has the responsibility about what he does concerning THAT LIGHT.

As Christians, Jesus is to shine through us! So let you little light shine, let it shine, shine shine...
